1 Ŋutsu aɖe si woyɔna be Anania kple srɔ̃a Safira hã dzra woƒe nunɔamesi aɖe,
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 ke Anania tsɔ ga la ƒe ɖe dzra ɖo hafi tsɔ mamlɛa vɛ na apostoloawo, nu si le nyanya me na srɔ̃a, Safira hã.
And kept back [part] of the price, (his wife also being privy [to it] ) and brought a certain part, and laid [it] at the apostles' feet.
3 Ke Petro biae be, “Anania, nu ka ta Satana xɔ aƒe ɖe wò dzi me ale, be nèda alakpa na Gbɔgbɔ kɔkɔe la, eye nètsɔ ga si nèdzra anyigba lae ƒe ɖe dzra ɖo?
But Peter said, Ananias, Why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land?
4 Ɖe anyigba la menye tɔwò hafi nèdzrae oa? Eye esi nèdzrae la, ɖe ga la menye tɔwò oa? Nu kae wɔ wò be nèɖe afɔ sia? Menye amegbetɔe nèda alakpa na o, ke boŋ Mawue.”
While it remained, was it not thy own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thy heart? thou hast not lied to men, but to God.
And Ananias hearing these words, fell down, and expired. And great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 Ke ɖekakpui siwo nɔ teƒea la tsɔ avɔ bla ɖe eŋu, eye wokɔe do goe yi ɖaɖi.
And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried [him] out, and buried [him].
Eya menya nu si dzɔ ɖe srɔ̃a dzi o.
And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
Safira ɖo eŋu na Petro be, “Ɛ̃, ho mae míexɔ.”
And Peter answered to her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yes, for so much.
9 Petro gblɔ na Safira be, “Nu ka ta mi kple srɔ̃wò, Anania, miewɔ ɖeka be yewoate Aƒetɔ la ƒe Gbɔgbɔ kpɔ mahã? Kpɔ ɖa ɖekakpui siwo ɖi srɔ̃wò ƒe kukua la, woawoe nye ema le xɔa mɔnu le wò hã lalam ne woakɔ wò hã ayii.”
Then Peter said to her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold the feet of them who have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Enumake Safira hã mu dze anyi heku ɖe Petro ƒe afɔ nu eye esi ɖekakpuiawo va kpɔ eƒe kukua le anyigba la, wokɔ eya hã ɖaɖi ɖe srɔ̃a xa.
Then she fell down immediately at his feet, and expired. And the young men came in, and found her dead, and carrying [her] forth, buried [her] by her husband.
11 Nyadzɔdzɔ sia de vɔvɔ̃ gã aɖe hame blibo la kple ame siwo katã see la me.
And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 Le ɣeyiɣi siawo me la, apostoloawo ƒoa ƒu edziedzi ɖe gbedoxɔ ƒe akpa si woyɔna be “Solomo ƒe Akpata” la me, eye wonɔa dzesi kple nukunu geɖewo wɔm le afi ma.
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 Ame geɖewo metea ŋu doa dzi tena ɖe apostoloawo ŋu o, ke hã la, ame sia ame tsɔ bubu tɔxɛ blibo na wo.
And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 Ame geɖewo ŋutɔ, ŋutsuwo kple nyɔnuwo xɔ Aƒetɔ la dzi se, eye woge ɖe hame la me.
And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Ɖe apostoloawo ƒe nukunuwo wɔwɔ ta la, amewo kɔa dɔnɔwo dana ɖe abawo kple abatiwo dzi le mɔwo to be ne Petro va yina la, eƒe vɔvɔli nadze ɖe wo dzi.
So that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 Zi gã aɖe tɔ le du siwo ƒo xlã Yerusalem la me, eye amewo kɔ woƒe dɔnɔwo kple ame siwo me gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo le la vɛ, eye woda gbe le wo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe ŋu.
There came also a multitude [out] of the cities around to Jerusalem, bringing sick persons, and them who were afflicted with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 Ke nunɔlagã la kple eŋume siwo tso Zadukitɔwo ƒe kɔ aɖe me la yɔ fũu kple ŋuʋaʋã.
Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him; (which is the sect of the Sadducees) and were filled with indignation,
18 Ale wolé apostoloawo de gaxɔ me.
And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 Ke le zã me la, mawudɔla aɖe va apostoloawo gbɔ le gaxɔa me. Eʋu gaxɔ la ƒe agbowo, eye wòkplɔ wo do goe. Egblɔ na wo be,
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison-doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 “Miyi gbedoxɔ la me, eye miagblɔ agbe yeye sia ƒe nya na ameawo.”
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
Woyɔ Israel ƒe takpekpe gã me nɔlawo ƒo ƒu ɖe woƒe takpeƒe, eye wodɔ asrafoawo be woaɖakplɔ apostoloawo tso gaxɔ la me vɛ ne yewoadrɔ̃ ʋɔnu wo.
And when they heard [that], they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,
23 “Esi míede la, míekpɔ gaxɔ ƒe agboawo nɔ tutu goŋgoŋ. Asrafowo nɔ tsitre ɖe agboa nu pɛpɛpɛ, gake esi míeʋu ʋɔa hege ɖe eme la, míekpɔ ame aɖeke le teƒea o.”
Saying, The prison truly we found shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
Now when the high priest, and the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them to what this would grow.
25 Ke ame aɖe va gblɔ na wo be ame siwo wolé de gaxɔ me la woe nye emawo le nya gblɔm na ameawo ŋusẽtɔe le gbedoxɔ la me.
Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Enumake asrafowo ƒe amegã kplɔ etevi aɖewo ɖe asi, eye woyi ɖalé apostoloawo. Asrafoawo kpɔ egbɔ be yewomelé wo sesẽtɔe o, elabena wonɔ vɔvɔ̃m be ne yewowɔ esia la, ɖewohĩ ameha gã si le afi ma la aƒu kpe yewo.
Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 Wokplɔ apostoloawo va ʋɔnudrɔ̃ƒe la ƒe ŋkume be nunɔlagã nabia gbe wo.
And when they had brought them, they set [them] before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 Ebia wo be, “Menye ɖe míede se na mi vevie be miagafia nu le ŋkɔ sia me azɔ oa? Ke azɔ kura boŋ miekaka míaƒe nufiafia ɖe Yerusalem du blibo la me, eye mieɖoe kplikpaa be yewoatsɔ ame sia ƒe ku aɖo mía dzi!”
Saying, Did we not strictly command you, that ye should not teach in this name? and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 Petro kple apostoloawo gblɔ be, “Ele na mí be míawɔ ɖe Mawu ƒe gbe dzi ke menye ɖe amegbetɔ tɔ dzi o.
Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree:
31 Eya Mawu do ɖe dzi ɖe eƒe ɖusime be wòanye Fiavi kple Ɖela, be wòahe dzimetɔtrɔ kple nu vɔ̃ tsɔtsɔke vɛ na Israel.
Him hath God exalted with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Míawo ŋutɔ míekpɔ nu siawo teƒe kple Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe si Mawu naa ame siwo wɔa eƒe gbe dzi la hã.”
And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 Esi wose esia la, eku dzi na wo vevie, eye woɖo be yewoawu apostoloawo.
When they heard [that], they were cut [to the heart], and took counsel to slay them.
Etsi tsitre le takpekpea me gblɔ be woaɖe kpɔ apostoloawo vie.
Then stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little time.
35 Azɔ Gamaliel trɔ ɖe etɔwo gbɔ gblɔ na wo be, “Israeltɔwo, mikpɔ nyuie le ɖoɖo si wɔm miele ɖe ame siawo ŋu la ŋuti.
And said to them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do concerning these men:
36 Ɣeyiɣi aɖe va yi la, Teuda aɖe va do ɖe mía dome, eye wòwɔ eɖokui hlodzoo be yenye amegã aɖe. Ame abe alafa ene sɔŋ dze eyome. Ke nu kae va dzɔ? Wowu eya ŋutɔ, eye eyomedzelawo katã kaka gbẽe, eye nu nyui aɖeke medo tso eme o.
For before these days rose Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to naught.
Eya hã dze agbagba he amewo ɖe eɖokui ŋu abe eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo ene, gake eya hã va ku eye eyomedzelawo kaka.”
After this man rose Judas of Galilee, in the days of the taxing, and drew away many people after him: he also perished; and all, [even] as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 Gamaliel yi edzi be, “Tɔnyetɔwo, aɖaŋu si medi be maɖo na mie nye be miɖe asi le ame siawo ŋu kpoo. Ne wònye woawo ŋutɔ ƒe nufiafia kakam wole la, ekema eteƒe madidi o la, nu sia nu awu enu.
And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work is from men, it will come to naught:
39 Gake nenye Mawu ƒe dɔ wɔm wole vavã la, ekema miate ŋu atsi enu gbeɖe o. Gawu la, ne miekpɔ nyuie o la, miakpɔ be yewole kame tem kple Mawu.”
But if it is from God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 Takpekpea me nɔlawo xɔ Gamaliel ƒe aɖaŋu sia ale woyɔ apostoloawo vɛ, eye woƒo wo. Emegbe la, wode se na wo be womegagblɔ nya aɖeke le Yesu ƒe ŋkɔ me gbeɖe o, eye woɖe asi le wo ŋu.
And to him they assented: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten [them], they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 Apostoloawo ɖe abla do go le takpexɔa me kple dzidzɔ blibo be wodo ŋukpe yewo le Yesu ƒe ŋkɔ ta.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 Azɔ tso ŋkeke yi ŋkeke, wonɔa gbedoxɔ la ƒe akpata me, nɔa nu fiam, eye nenema ke wowɔna tso aƒe me yi aƒe me, eye womedzudzɔ nufiafia o, ke boŋ wonɔ gbeƒã ɖem nyanyui la, be Yesue nye Kristo la.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
