< Dɔwɔwɔwo 12 >
1 Le ɣe ma ɣi me la, Fia Herodes lé hamevi aɖewo heɖoe be yeawɔ fu wo le xɔse la ta.
At that [very] now time put forth Herod the king the hands to mistreat some of those of the church.
2 Ale wòwu Yakobo, Yohanes nɔvi la kple yi.
He executed then James the brother of John with the sword.
3 Herodes kpɔ be nuwɔna sia do dzidzɔ na Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo ŋutɔ, eya ta ena wolé Petro hã le esime wonɔ Ŋutitotoŋkeke la ɖum.
(and *k*) Having seen (now *no*) that pleasing it is to the Jews, he proceeded to take also Peter — these were now (the *no*) days of the Unleavened [Bread] —
4 Ke esi eƒe asi su edzi la, edee mɔ. Ena asrafo wuiade nɔ eŋu dzɔm. Herodes ɖoe be ne woɖu Ŋutitotoŋkekea vɔ la, yeaɖe asi le Petro ŋu na Yudatɔwo woadrɔ̃ ʋɔnui eye woawui.
whom also having seized he put in prison having delivered [him] to four sets of four soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring out him to the people.
5 Ale Petro nɔ gaxɔ me, gake hame la katã nɔ gbe dom ɖa na Mawu vevie ɖe eta.
Indeed therefore Peter was kept in the prison; prayer however was (fervently *N(k)O*) being made by the church to God (concerning *N(k)O*) him.
6 Le zã si do ŋgɔ na gbe si gbe Herodes ɖo be woaɖe Petro adrɔ̃ ʋɔnui la, Petro nɔ alɔ̃ dɔm le asrafo eve dome. Wode gakɔsɔkɔsɔ asi nɛ sesĩe. Asrafo bubuwo hã ganɔ gaxɔa ƒe agbonu dzɔm.
When then was about (to bring forth *N(k)(o)*) him Herod, in the night that [one] was Peter sleeping between two soldiers bound with chains two, guards also before the door were watching the prison.
7 Kasia Aƒetɔ la ƒe dɔla aɖe va do, eye Kekeli klẽ ɖe gaxɔ la me. Dɔla la ƒo Petro ƒe axame henyɔe tso alɔ̃ me. Egblɔ nɛ be, “Netsɔ, tsi tsitre!” Enumake gakɔsɔkɔsɔ la ge le Petro ƒe alɔnu.
And behold an angel of [the] Lord stood by and a light shone in the cell; Having struck then the side of Peter he woke up him saying; do rise up with speed. And fell of him the chains off the hands.
8 Tete mawudɔla la gblɔ nɛ be, “Do wò awuwo kple wò afɔkpa.” Petro wɔ nenema, eye mawudɔla la yi edzi gblɔ nɛ be, “Bla wò ali dzi sesĩe ne nàdze yonyeme.”
Said (then *N(k)O*) the angel to him; (do dress yourself *N(K)O*) and do yourself put on the sandals of you. He did and so. And he says to him; do yourself wrap around the cloak of you and do follow me.
9 Petro wɔ abe ale si mawudɔla la gblɔ nɛ la ene, eye wòdze eyome do go le gaxɔ la me. Mebu nu si nɔ dzɔdzɔm la nu vavã o. Ewɔ nɛ abe drɔ̃e kum wònɔ alo ŋutega kpɔm wònɔ ene.
And having gone forth he was following (him; *k*) and not did know that real is what is happening through the angel, he was thinking however a vision to see.
10 Wozɔ to agbo gbãtɔ eveawo me bɔbɔe, eye esi wova ɖo agbo gã mamlɛa, si wotsɔ gakpo wɔe gbɔ la, agbo la ŋutɔ ʋu le eɖokui si, ale be wodo go hege ɖe dua ƒe ablɔ ŋutɔ dzi. Esi wogazɔ yi ŋgɔgbe vie ko la, mawudɔla la bu le Petro gbɔ.
Having passed through then a first guard and a second they came to the gate iron which is leading into the city, which by itself (opened *N(k)O*) to them, And having gone out they went on through street one and immediately departed the angel from him.
11 Azɔ ko hafi Petro nya nu si tututu dzɔ, eye wògblɔ na eɖokui be, “Nyateƒe, Mawu dɔ eƒe dɔla ɖa wòva ɖem le Herodes kple Yudatɔwo ƒe ta me vɔ̃ si woɖo ɖe ŋunye la me.”
And Peter to himself having come said; Now I know truly that has sent forth (the *no*) Lord the angel of Him and delivered me out of [the] hand of Herod and all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
12 Petro nɔ tsitre, bu ta me sẽe, eye wòɖoe be yeayi Maria si nye Marko Yohanes dada la ƒe aƒe me, afi si hametɔ geɖewo ƒo ƒu ɖo, henɔ gbe dom ɖa le.
Having considered [it] also he came to the house (*no*) of Mary the mother of John who is called Mark, where were many gathered together and praying.
13 Esi Petro va ɖo aƒea ƒe agbonu la, eƒo ʋɔa, eye dɔlanyɔnuvi aɖe si ŋkɔe nye Roda la va be yeaʋui. Ke gbã la, ebia ame si nɔ ʋɔa ƒom la ƒe ŋkɔ ta se.
When was knocking then (*k*) (he *N(K)O*) [at] the door of the gate came a girl to answer named Rhoda;
14 Esi Roda se Petro ƒe gbe le agboa godo la, dzi dzɔe ale gbegbe be wòƒu du yi ɖe aƒea me ɖagblɔe na ƒuƒoƒe la be “Petro va le agboa nu le eƒom!”
And having recognized the voice of Peter from joy not she opened the gate having run in but she reported to have been standing Peter before the gate.

And to her they said; You rave. But she was insisting [it] so to be. And they were saying; The angel it is of him.
16 Ke Petro ganɔ ʋɔa ƒoƒo dzi ŋusẽtɔe. Mlɔeba la, woyi ɖaʋu agboa, eye esi wokpɔ Petro la, gbɔgblɔ bu ɖe wo ŋutɔ.
But Peter was continuing knocking; having opened [it] then they saw him and were amazed.

Having made a sign then to them with the hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord him had brought out of the prison; He said (then; *N(k)O*) do report to James and to the brothers these things. And having gone out he went to another place.
18 Le fɔŋli la, zi gã aɖe tɔ ɖe asrafoawo dome ku ɖe nu si va dzɔ ɖe Petro dzi ŋu.

Herod then having sought after him and not having found [him] having examined the guards he commanded [them] to be led away [to death], And having gone down from Judea to (*k*) Caesarea he was staying [there].
20 Le esime Herodes nɔ Kaesarea la, ame dɔdɔ aɖewo tso Tiro kple Sidon va egbɔ. Herodes melɔ̃a Tirotɔwo kple Sidontɔwo ƒe nya kura o. He was now (*k*) (Herod *K*) furiously angry with [the] Tyrians and Sidonians; with one accord then they were coming to him And having gained Blastus who [was] over the bedchamber of the king they were seeking peace, because of being nourished their region by the king’s.

And the people were crying out; Of a god [this is the] voice and not of a man!

Immediately then struck him an angel of [the] Lord in return for that not he gave the glory to God, and having been eaten by worms he breathed his last.
