< Dɔwɔwɔwo 10 >
1 Ŋutsu aɖe nɔ Kaesarea si ŋkɔe nye Kornelio. Enye aʋafia le asrafoha si woyɔna be Italia Hatsotso la me.
Futhermore there was a certaine man in Cesarea called Cornelius, a captaine of the band called the Italian band,
2 Eya kple eƒe ƒometɔwo katã nye Mawuvɔ̃la vavãwo. Enaa nu ame siwo le hiahiã me fũu, eye wòdoa gbe ɖa na Mawu atraɖii.
A deuoute man, and one that feared God with all his housholde, which gaue much almes to the people, and prayed God continually.
3 Gbe ɖeka abe ɣetrɔ ga etɔ̃ me ene la, ekpɔ ŋutega esime wònɔ gbe dom ɖa. Ekpɔ mawudɔla aɖe wògbɔna egbɔ. Mawudɔla la yɔe be, “Kornelio!”
He sawe in a vision euidently (about the ninth houre of the day) an Angel of God comming in to him, and saying vnto him, Cornelius.
4 Kornelio vɔ̃ ŋutɔ. Ɖeko wòke ŋku ɖe te gãa nɔ mawudɔla la kpɔm. Mlɔeba la, ebiae be, “Amegã, nya kae dzɔ? Nu ka dim nèle tso gbɔnye?” Mawudɔla la ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Wò gbedodoɖa kple nunana ame dahewo va ɖo dziƒo le Mawu ŋkume abe ŋkuɖodzinunana ene.
But when hee looked on him, hee was afrayd, and sayd, What is it, Lord? and he sayd vnto him, Thy prayers and thine almes are come vp into remembrance before God.
5 Eya ta dɔ amewo ɖe Yopa ne woaɖayɔ ŋutsu aɖe si ŋkɔe nye Simɔn Petro la vɛ be wòava kpɔ wò ɖa.
Nowe therefore send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.
6 Simɔn Petro sia le ŋutsu bubu aɖe si hã woyɔna be Simɔn si nye lãgbalẽŋutidɔwɔla aɖe la ƒe aƒe me le ƒuta lɔƒo.”
Hee lodgeth with one Simon a Tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to doe.
And when the Angel which spake vnto Cornelius, was departed, he called two of his seruants, and a souldier that feared God, one of them that waited on him,
8 eye wògblɔ nu si dzɔ la na wo. Azɔ eɖo wo ɖe Yopa be woaɖakplɔ Petro vɛ.
And tolde them all things, and sent them to Ioppa.
9 Esi ŋu ke, le ŋdɔ me la, wonɔ tetem ɖe du la ŋu; ɣe ma yi la, Petro yi xɔta be yeado gbe ɖa.
On the morow as they went on their iourney, and drew neere vnto the citie, Peter went vp vpon the house to pray, about the sixt houre.
10 Ke dɔ de asi ewuwu me, eye wòdi be yeaɖu nu, ke esi wònɔ nua ɖam la, ekpɔ ŋutega.
Then waxed hee an hungred, and would haue eaten: but while they made some thing ready, he fell into a trance.
And hee sawe heauen opened, and a certaine vessell come downe vnto him, as it had bene a great sheete, knit at the foure corners, and was let downe to the earth.
Wherein were all maner of foure footed beastes of the earth, and wilde beastes and creeping things, and foules of the heauen.
13 Petro se gbeɖiɖi aɖe wògblɔ nɛ be, “Wu lã siawo ne nàɖu.”
And there came a voyce to him, Arise, Peter: kill, and eate.
14 Ke Petro ɖo eŋu be, “Gbeɖe, Aƒetɔ, nyemeɖu lã makɔmakɔ siawo dometɔ aɖeke kpɔ le nye agbe me o.”
But Peter sayd, Not so, Lord: for I haue neuer eaten any thing that is polluted, or vncleane.
15 Gbeɖiɖi la gayi edzi gblɔ na Petro be, “Ne Mawu da asi ɖe nane dzi be ekɔ la, wò la, mègagblɔ be mekɔ o.”
And the voyce spake vnto him againe the second time, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.
This was so done thrise: and the vessell was drawen vp againe into heauen.
17 Ŋutega sia wɔ moya na Petro ŋutɔ. Mese egɔme o, eye kpɔ ɖa, ŋutsu siwo Kornelio dɔ ɖo ɖa la le Simɔn ƒe aƒe la ta biam hele tsitre le agbo la nu.
Nowe while Peter douted in himselfe what this vision which he had seene, meant, beholde, the men which were sent from Cornelius, had inquired for Simons house, and stoode at the gate,
18 Woyɔ ame aɖe ɖa biae be Simɔn si woyɔna be Petro la dze afi sia mahã?
And called, and asked, whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 Ke esi Petro ganɔ ta me bum le ŋutega la ŋu la, Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la gblɔ nɛ be, “Ame etɔ̃ aɖewo le diwòm le aƒea me,
And while Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit sayde vnto him, Beholde, three men seeke thee.
20 eya ta ɖi naɖakpe wo eye nàdze wo yome ayi kpli wo, elabena nyee dɔ wo ɖo ɖe gbɔwò. Mègavɔ̃ o, nu sia nu ayi edzi nyuie.”
Arise therefore, and get thee downe, and goe with them, and doute nothing: For I haue sent them.
21 Ale Petro ɖi ɖe anyigba. Ekpɔ amedzroawo, eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Nyee nye ame si dim miele. Nu ka miele diyem be mawɔ na mi?”
Then Peter went downe to the men, which were sent vnto him from Cornelius, and sayd, Beholde, I am he whome ye seeke: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
And they sayd, Cornelius the captaine, a iust man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Iewes, was warned from heauen by an holy Angel, to send for thee into his house, and to heare thy wordes.
23 Petro se nya siawo katã, eye wòxɔ ameawo atuu. Ena dzeƒe wo be woatsi adɔ. Esi ŋu ke la, Petro kplɔ xɔsetɔ eve aɖewo tso Yopa kpe ɖe eɖokui ŋu, eye wodze mɔ kple Kornelio ƒe ame dɔdɔwo ɖo ta Kaesarea.
Then called he them in, and lodged them, and the next day, Peter went foorth with them, and certaine brethren from Ioppa accompanied him.
24 Wova ɖo Kaesarea le ŋkeke evea gbe. Kornelio nɔ mɔ kpɔm na wo vevie, eye wòyɔ eƒe ƒometɔwo kple xɔlɔ̃wo hã be woava do gbe na Petro.
And the day after, they entred into Cesarea. Nowe Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsemen, and special friends.
25 Esi Petro ge ɖe aƒea me teti ko la, Kornelio ɖe abla ɖadze klo ɖe eƒe akɔme be yeade bubu eŋu.
And it came to passe as Peter came in, that Cornelius met him, and fell downe at his feete, and worshipped him.
26 Ke Petro gblɔ nɛ be, “Tso kaba, elabena menye Mawue menye nàsubɔ o. Amegbetɔ ko nye hã menye.”
But Peter tooke him vp, saying, Stand vp: for euen I my selfe am a man.
27 Kornelio tsi tsitre, eye eya kple Petro wonɔ dze ɖom hege ɖe aƒea me, afi si ameha gã aɖe ƒo ƒu ɖo.
And as he talked with him, he came in, and found many that were come together.
28 Ke Petro gblɔ na ƒuƒoƒe la be, “Miawo ŋutɔ mienya be mele be nye abe Yudatɔ ene la mava mi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo ƒe aƒe me alea o, gake Mawu ɖee fiam le ŋutega me be, mele be mabu ame aɖeke abe nu dzodzro alo nu makɔmakɔ ene o.
And he sayd vnto them, Ye know that it is an vnlawfull thing for a man that is a Iewe, to company, or come vnto one of another nation: but God hath shewed me, that I should not call any man polluted, or vncleane.
29 Eya ta esi miaƒe ame dɔdɔwo va ɖo gbɔnye ko la, nyemehe ɖe megbe kura o, ke boŋ metso dze mɔ dzi enumake. Azɔ nya kae le mia si? Migblɔe mase.”
Therefore came I vnto you without saying nay, when I was sent for. I aske therefore, for what intent haue ye sent for me?
30 Kornelio ɖo eŋu gblɔ nɛ be, “Egbee nye ŋkeke enelia, esi menɔ gbe dom ɖa le gaƒoƒo sia me tututu abe ale si mewɔna ɖaa ene. Ame aɖe si do awu ɣi si nɔ dzo dam la va do ɖe ŋkunyeme.
Then Cornelius sayd, Foure dayes agoe, about this houre, I fasted, and at the ninth houre I prayed in mine house, and beholde, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 Egblɔ nam be, ‘Kornelio, Mawu se wò gbedodoɖawo, eye wòkpɔ dzidzɔ le wò dɔmenyowɔwɔ ŋu.
And sayd, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine almes are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Azɔ la, dɔ ame aɖewo ɖe Yopa, ne woaɖayɔ Simɔn Petro vɛ na wò. Simɔn Petro sia le Simɔn si nye lãgbalẽŋutidɔwɔla aɖe ƒe aƒe me le ƒuta.’
Send therefore to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter (he is lodged in the house of Simon a Tanner by the sea side) who when he commeth, shall speake vnto thee.
33 Esia tae medɔ ame ɖo ɖe gbɔwò ɖo, eye enyo ŋutɔ be nèva zi ɖeka hã. Azɔ mí katã míeƒo ƒu ɖi, le Aƒetɔ la ŋkume le klalo be míase nya si Mawu de asiwò be nàgblɔ na mí.”
Then sent I for thee immediately, and thou hast well done to come. Nowe therefore are we all here present before God, to heare all things that are commanded thee of God.
34 Petro ɖo eŋu gblɔ be, “Eme kɔ nam ƒãa azɔ be nyateƒee Mawu mekpɔa ame ŋkume o,
Then Peter opened his mouth, and sayd, Of a trueth I perceiue, that God is no accepter of persons.
35 ke boŋ exɔa ame sia ame si vɔ̃nɛ, eye wòwɔa nu si le eteƒe, du ka ke mee wòtso hã.
But in euery nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousnesse, is accepted with him.
36 Meka ɖe edzi be miawo hã miese nyanyui si wohe vɛ na Israelviwo la, be Yesu Kristo he tomefafa va amegbetɔwo kple Mawu dome eye Yesu Kristoe nye xexea me katã ƒe Aƒetɔ.
Ye know the worde which God hath sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Iesus Christ, which is Lord of all:
37 Yohanes Mawutsidetanamela dze nyanyui sia kaka gɔme tso Galilea, eye wòkaka ɖe Yudea nuto blibo la katã me.
Euen the worde which came through all Iudea, beginning in Galile, after the baptisme which Iohn preached.
38 Meka ɖe edzi be mienya hã be Mawu da asi ɖe Yesu, Nazaretitɔ la dzi to Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la me, eye wòna ŋusẽ si na be wòte ŋu nɔ tsatsam henɔ dɔmenyo wɔm na amewo lae. Eda gbe le dɔnɔ siwo dzi Abosam ɖu la ŋu elabena Mawu nɔ kplii ɖaa.”
To wit, howe God anointed Iesus of Nazareth with the holy Ghost, and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the deuill: for God was with him.
39 Petro yi edzi be, “Ke mí apostoloawoe nye ɖaseɖilawo na nu siwo katã wòwɔ le Yudatɔwo ƒe anyigba dzi kple Yerusalem, afi si woklãe ɖe ati ŋu hewui le.
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Iewes, and in Hierusalem, whom they slewe, hanging him on a tree.
40 Ke Mawu gafɔ Yesu ɖe tsitre tso ame kukuwo dome le ŋkeke etɔ̃a gbe tututu, eye wòɖee fia ame tɔxɛ siwo eya ŋutɔ tia la.
Him God raysed vp the third day, and caused that he was shewed openly:
41 Meɖee fia le dutoƒo o, ke boŋ eɖee fia mí apostoloawo siwo Mawu tia ɖi xoxo la, eye míeɖu nu, heno nu kplii le eƒe fɔfɔ tso ame kukuwo dome megbe.
Not to all the people, but vnto the witnesses chosen before of God, euen to vs which did eate and drinke with him, after he arose from the dead.
42 Eye Yesu dɔ mí be míagblɔ nyanyui la na amewo katã, eye míaɖe gbeƒãe be Mawu tia Yesu be wòanye ʋɔnudrɔ̃la na amewo katã, agbagbeawo kple kukuawo siaa.
And he commanded vs to preach vnto the people, and to testifie, that it is he that is ordained of God a iudge of quicke and dead.
43 Nyagblɔɖilawo katã hã ŋlɔ nu tso Yesu ŋu gblɔ be ame sia ame si axɔ edzi ase la, woatsɔ eƒe nu vɔ̃wo akee to eƒe ŋkɔ la me.”
To him also giue all the Prophets witnesse, that through his Name all that beleeue in him, shall receiue remission of sinnes.
44 Esime Petro nɔ nya siawo gblɔm la, Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la dze ame siwo katã nɔ to ɖom la dzi.
While Peter yet spake these wordes, the holy Ghost fell on al them which heard the word.
45 Nɔvi xɔsetɔ siwo tso aʋatsotso la me, ame siwo va kple Petro la ƒe mo wɔ yaa, be wokɔ Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la ɖe ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo gɔ̃ hã dzi,
So they of the circumcision which beleeued, were astonied, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was powred out the gift of the holy Ghost.
46 elabena wose wonɔ aɖe yeye gblɔm, nɔ Mawu kafum. Tete Petro gblɔ be,
For they heard them speake with tongues, and magnifie God. Then answered Peter,
47 “Ɖe ame aɖe ate ŋu axe mɔ be womade mawutsi ta na ame siawo oa? Woawo hã xɔ Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la abe míawo ke ene.”
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which haue receiued the holy Ghost, as well as we?
So he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tary certaine dayes.
