< Timoteo 2 2 >
1 Ke wò, vinye Timoteo, sẽ ŋu le amenuveve si le Kristo Yesu me la me,
You must, then, my child, find strength in the help which comes from the union with Christ Jesus;
2 elabena ele na wò be nàfia nu siwo mi kple ame bubuwo miese tso gbɔnye le ɖaseɖila geɖewo dome. Mifia nyateƒe xɔasi siawo ame nuteƒewɔlawo, eye woawo hã woafia ame bubuwo.
and what you learnt from me, in the presence of many listeners, entrust to reliable people, who will be able in their turn to teach others.
3 Tsɔ wò fukpekpewo kpoo abe Yesu Kristo ƒe asrafo vavã ene, abe ale si mewɔna ene,
Share hardships with me, as a true soldier of Christ Jesus.
A soldier on active service, to please his superior officer, always avoids entangling himself in the affairs of ordinary life.
5 Lé Aƒetɔ la ƒe sewo me ɖe asi le eƒe dɔwɔwɔ me abe ale si duɖimekela léa seawo me ɖe asi eye wòɖua dzi loo alo wòɖea asi le seawo ŋu, eye meɖua dzi o ene.
No athlete is ever awarded the wreath of victory unless they have kept the rules.
6 Ku kutri vevie abe agbledela si xɔa fetu nyui ne exa nuku geɖewo ene.
The laborer who does the work should be the first to receive a share of the fruits of the earth.
7 Bu kpɔɖeŋu etɔ̃ siawo ŋu kpɔ. Aƒetɔ la nakpe ɖe ŋuwò be nàse ale si kpɔɖeŋu siawo ku ɖe ŋuwòe la gɔme.
Reflect on what I say; the Lord will always help you to understand.
8 Ɖo ŋku Yesu Kristo, ame si wofɔ tso ku me, eye wòdzɔ tso David ƒe ƒome me la dzi. Esiae nye nye nyanyui la,
Keep before your mind Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David, as told in the good news entrusted to me;
9 si ta mele fu kpem ɖo, eye wodem ga me gɔ̃ hã abe hlɔ̃dola ene, gake womede ga Mawu ƒe nya ya o.
in the service of which I am suffering hardships, even to being put in fetters as a criminal. But the message of God is not fettered;
10 Eya ta mekpe fu sia fu ɖe ame tiatiawo ta be woawo hã woakpɔ ɖeɖe si le Kristo Yesu me kpe ɖe ŋutikɔkɔe mavɔ ŋu. (aiōnios )
and that is why I submit to anything for the sake of God’s people: so that they also may obtain the salvation which comes from union with Christ Jesus, and imperishable glory. (aiōnios )
11 Esia nye nyateƒenya be, “Ne míeku kpakplii la, míanɔ agbe hã kpakplii;
How true this saying is – ‘If we have shared his death, we will also share his life.
If we continue to endure, we will also share his throne. If we should ever disown him, he, too, will disown us.
If we lose our trust, he is still to be trusted, for he cannot be false to himself!’
14 Ɖo ŋku nya xɔasi siawo dzi na wò amewo, eye nàgbe na wo le Aƒetɔ la ƒe ŋkɔ me be womagahe nya tso nu siwo mele vevie o la ŋu o. Nyahehe siawo tɔgbi tɔtɔa ame. Viɖe aɖeke menɔa wo ŋu o, eye wowɔa nu vevi ame gɔ̃ hã.
Remind people of all this; tell them solemnly, as in the sight of God, to avoid controversy, a useless thing and the ruin of those who listen to it.
15 Wɔ dɔ sesĩe ale be Mawu nate ŋu agblɔ na wò be, “Dɔ nyui wɔla, wòe le dɔ nyui wɔwɔ dzi.”
Do your utmost to show yourself true to God, a worker with no reason to be ashamed, accurate in delivering the message of the truth.
16 Mègade nu nyahehe dzodzro siwo nana amewo wɔa nu vɔ̃ to dɔmedzoedodo ɖe wo nɔewo ŋu me la me o.
Avoid profane prattle. Those who indulge in it only get deeper into irreligious ways,
17 Elabena to esia wɔwɔ me la, ame aɖewo gblɔa nya aɖewo, siwo gblẽa nu ɣeyiɣi didi aɖe.
and their teaching will spread like a cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are instances of this.
They have gone completely astray as regards the truth; they say that a resurrection has already taken place, and so upset some people’s faith.
19 Ke hã la, Mawu ƒe gɔmeɖokpe sesẽ la le te, eye wode dzesii kple nya siawo be, “Aƒetɔ la nyaa ame siwo nye etɔ vavãwo,” eye, “Ame sia ame si ʋua Aƒetɔ la ƒe ŋkɔ me la, nate ɖa tso ŋutasesẽ gbɔ.”
Yet God’s firm foundation still stands unmoved, and it bears this inscription – ‘THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS’; and this – ‘LET ALL THOSE WHO USE THE NAME OF THE LORD TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.’
20 Menye sikanuwo kple klosalonuwo ɖeɖe koe nɔa aƒe gã me o, ke boŋ atinuwo kple anyinuwo hã nɔa anyi, ɖewo na bubumewo xɔxɔ, eye ɖewo hã na gbe sia gbe ƒe ŋudɔwɔwɔ.
Now in a large house there are not only things of gold and silver, but also others of wood and earthenware, some for better and some for common use.
21 Ne ame aɖe kɔ eɖokui ŋuti tso nu vɔ̃ mawo me la, eya ŋu dɔe woawɔ abe nu si ŋu bubu le, nu si le kɔkɔe si nye ŋudɔwɔnu na Aƒetɔ la, eye wòle klalo hena dɔ nyui sia dɔ nyui wɔwɔ ene.
If, then, a person has escaped from the pollution of such errors as I have mentioned, they will be like a thing kept for better use, set apart, serviceable to its owner, ready for any good purpose.
22 Si le nu sia nu si naa nu vɔ̃ ƒe susu si ɖea fu na ɖekakpuiwo enuenu, eye wògena ɖe mewò la nu, ke nàlé fɔ ɖe nu sia nu si nyɔa didi le mewò be nàwɔ nu nyui la ŋu. Xɔse kple lɔlɔ̃ kpakple ŋutifafa nanɔ mewò, eye nàna hadede kple ame siwo yɔa Aƒetɔ la, eye woƒe dzi me kɔ la, nado dzidzɔ na wò.
Flee from the passions of youth, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in the company of those who, with a pure heart, invoke the Lord.
23 Megale egblɔm na wò be mègade nu nyahehe dzodzro siwo tɔtɔa ame, eye wodoa dɔmedzoe na ame la me o.
Shun foolish and ignorant discussions, for you know that they only breed quarrels;
24 Mele be Mawu ƒe subɔlawo nanye dzrewɔlawo o, ke boŋ ele be woanye nufiala siwo faa tu, eye wogbɔa dzi ɖi na vodalawo.
and a servant of the Lord should never quarrel. They ought, on the contrary, to be courteous to everyone, skillful teachers, and forbearing.
25 Bɔbɔ ɖokuiwò ne èle nu fiam ame siwo tɔtɔ le nyateƒe la ŋu, elabena ne ètsɔ ɖokuibɔbɔ kple gbe blewu ƒo nu na wo la, mɔkpɔkpɔ geɖe li bena, to Mawu ƒe amenuveve me la, woatrɔ dzi me, eye woaxɔ nyateƒe la dzi ase.
They should instruct their opponents in a gentle spirit; for, possibly, God may give those opponents a repentance that will lead to a fuller knowledge of truth,
26 Ekema woadze si nyateƒe la, eye woasi le Abosam ƒe mɔ siwo wotrena be yeana woazu kluviwo na nu vɔ̃ ɣe sia ɣi si yelɔ̃ la nu; ale woate ŋu adze Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu dzi wɔwɔ gɔme.
and they may yet come to a sober mind, and escape from the devil’s net, when captured by the Lord’s servant to do the will of God.
