< Samuel 2 9 >
1 David bia be, “Ame aɖe gakpɔtɔ ɖe Saul ƒe aƒe me, ame si nu mave le Yonatan ta?”
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
2 Azɔ la, dɔla aɖe nɔ Saul ƒe aƒe me si ŋkɔe nye Ziba. Woyɔe va David ŋkume eye fia la biae be, “Wòe nye Ziba?” Eɖo eŋu be, “Wò dɔlae.”
And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him to David, the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, Your servant is he.
3 Fia la biae be “Ame aɖeke megale Saul ƒe aƒe me si maɖe Mawu ƒe amenuveve afia oa?” Ziba ɖo eŋu na fia la be, “Yonatan ƒe viŋutsu aɖe gali ko, ame si ƒe atawo kple eve tu.”
And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
4 Fia la biae be, “Afi ka wòle?” Ziba ɖo eŋu be, “Ele Amiel ƒe vi Makir ƒe aƒe me le Lo Debar.”
And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
5 Ale Fia David na wokplɔe tso Lo Debar vɛ tso Makir, Amiel ƒe viŋutsu, Makar ƒe aƒe me.
Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
6 Esi Mefiboset, ame si nye Yonatan ƒe viŋutsu kple Saul ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi va ɖo David gbɔ la, ede ta agu hede bubu eŋu. David yɔe be, “Mefiboset!” Mefiboset ɖo eŋu be, “Nye, wò dɔlae nye esi.”
Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come to David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold your servant!
7 David gblɔ nɛ be, “Mègavɔ̃ o, elabena mave nuwò vavã le fofowò, Yonatan ta. Magbugbɔ tɔgbuiwò, Saul, ƒe anyigbawo katã ana wò eye àɖu nu gbe sia gbe le nye kplɔ̃ ŋuti.”
And David said to him, Fear not: for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.
8 Mefiboset tsyɔ mo anyi gblɔ be, “Nu kae wò dɔla nye be nètsɔ ɖe le eme na nye, ame si le abe avu kuku ene?”
And he bowed himself, and said, What is your servant, that you should look on such a dead dog as I am?
9 David yɔ Saul ƒe subɔla Ziba eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Metsɔ nu sia nu si nye Saul kple eƒe ƒomea tɔ la na wò aƒetɔ Saul ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi.
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, I have given to your master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
10 Wò kple viwòwo kple wò subɔlawo miade agble ɖe anyigba la dzi nɛ eye miatsɔ nukuawo vɛ ale be wò aƒetɔ ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi nakpɔ nuɖuɖu.
You therefore, and your sons, and your servants, shall till the land for him, and you shall bring in the fruits, that your master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread always at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Then said Ziba to the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so shall your servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
12 Viŋutsuvi sue aɖe nɔ Mefiboset si; eŋkɔe nye Mika. Ziba ƒe aƒemetɔwo katã zu Mefiboset ƒe subɔlawo.
And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelled in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.
13 Ke Mefiboset ya nɔ Yerusalem, elabena eɖua nu le fia la ƒe kplɔ̃ ŋu, eye eƒe atawo kple eve tu.
So Mephibosheth dwelled in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
