1 Nɔvinyɔnu dzetugbe aɖe nɔ Absalom, David ƒe viŋutsu si. Eŋkɔe nye Tamar eye eƒe nu nyo David viŋutsu bubu si woyɔna be Amnon la ŋu, evɔ Amnon kple Tamar nye atsusiviwo.
And it was after thus and [belonged] to Absalom [the] son of David a sister a beautiful and name her [was] Tamar and he loved her Amnon [the] son of David.
2 Amnon ƒe lɔlɔ̃ na Tamar va ɖe fu nɛ ale gbegbe be wòdze dɔ. Amnon mekpɔ mɔnu aɖeke awɔ naneke kplii o, elabena Tamar menya ŋutsu haɖe o.
And it was distress to Amnon to make himself sick for sake of Tamar sister his for [was] a virgin she and it was difficult in [the] eyes of Amnon to do to her anything.
3 Xɔlɔ̃ dzeaye aɖe nɔ Amnon si; eŋkɔe nye Yonadab, ame si nye David nɔviŋutsu, Simea ƒe vi.
And [belonged] to Amnon a friend and name his [was] Jonadab [the] son of Shimeah [the] brother of David and Jonadab [was] a man shrewd very.
4 Gbe ɖeka la, Yonadab bia Amnon be, “Nya kae dzɔ? Nu ka ta wò, fiavi, nàlé blanui ale ŋdi sia ŋdi?” Amnon gblɔ nɛ be, “Tamar, nɔvinye nyɔnu, ame si dzɔ ɖe Absalom yome la ƒe vi la ƒe nu lé dzi nam.”
And he said to him why? [are] you thus weak O son of the king in the morning in the morning ¿ not will you tell to me and he said to him Amnon Tamar [the] sister of Absalom brother my I [am] loving.
5 Yonadab gblɔ nɛ be, “Enyo, magblɔ nu si nàwɔ la na wò. Yi ɖamlɔ anyi eye nàwɔ abe ɖe nèdze dɔ ene. Ne fofowò va be yeakpɔ wò ɖa la, gblɔ nɛ be wòana Tamar nava wɔ nuɖuɖu aɖe na ye. Na wòanya be yeahaya ne Tamar va ɖa nu na ye.”
And he said to him Jonadab lie down on bed your and make yourself sick and he will come father your to see you and you will say to him let her come please Tamar sister my and let her cause to eat me food and she will make to eyes my the food so that that I may see and I will eat from hand her.
6 Amnon wɔ alea. Esi David va kpɔe ɖa la, eɖe kuku nɛ be wòaɖe mɔ na ye nɔvinyɔnu, Tamar, wòava ɖa nu na ye yeaɖu.
And he lay down Amnon and he made himself sick and he came the king to see him and he said Amnon to the king let her come please Tamar sister my and let her make cakes to eyes my two cakes so I may eat from hand her.
7 David lɔ̃ eye wòɖo du ɖe Tamar be wòayi Amnon ƒe xɔ me eye wòaɖa nane nɛ.
And he sent David to Tamar the house towards saying go please [the] house of Amnon brother your and make for him the food.
8 Ale Tamar yi Amnon ƒe xɔ me ale be Amnon nakpɔ ale si wòablu amɔ lae.
And she went Tamar [the] house of Amnon brother her and he [was] lying down and she took the dough (and she kneaded [it] *Q(k)*) and she made cakes to eyes his and she cooked the cakes.
9 Etɔ tatalĩ tɔxɛ aɖe nɛ, ke esi wòɖo kplɔ̃ nɛ la, egbe nua ɖuɖu! Eɖe gbe na eƒe subɔlawo be woadzo le yewo gbɔ eye subɔlawo katã do go le xɔa me.
And she took the pan and she poured out before him and he refused to eat and he said Amnon send out every person from with me and they went out every person from with him.
10 Amnon gblɔ na Tamar be, “Tsɔ nuɖuɖu la va nye dɔƒe eye nàdoe nam.” Ale Tamar tsɔ nuɖuɖu la yii.
And he said Amnon to Tamar bring the food the chamber so I may eat from hand your and she took Tamar the cakes which she had made and she brought [them] to Amnon brother her the chamber towards.
11 Esi wòtsi tsitre ɖe eŋkume la, Amnon gblɔ nɛ be, “Lɔlɔ̃tɔ, va mlɔ gbɔnye.”
And she brought [them] to him to eat and he took hold on her and he said to her come lie with me O sister my.
12 Tamar do ɣli be, “Oo, Amnon, èdzɔ movi loo! Mègawɔ nu sia tɔgbi o. Wò ŋutɔ ènya be nu sia tɔgbi medzɔna le Israel o.
And she said to him may [you] not O brother my may not you humble me for not it will be done thus in Israel may not you do the disgraceful folly this.
13 Afi ka mayi kple ŋukpe gã sia? Woayɔ wò be abunɛtɔ gãtɔwo dometɔ ɖeka le Israel! Meɖe kuku, ƒo nu kple fia la, ekema aɖe mɔ na wò nàɖem.”
And I where? will I bring reproach my and you you will be like one of the fools in Israel and now speak please to the king for not he will withhold me from you.
14 Amnon gbe meɖo toe o, ke boŋ esi wòsẽ wu Tamar ta la, elée sesẽtɔe hedɔ egbɔ.
And not he was willing to listen to voice her and he was strong more than her and he humbled her and he lay with with her.
15 Enumake lɔlɔ̃ si wòtsɔ nɛ la trɔ zu fuléle. Amnon lé fu Tamar azɔ wu ale si wòlɔ̃e tsã. Eblu ɖe eta be, “Do go nàdzo le afi sia!”
And he hated her Amnon hatred great very that [was] great the hatred which he hated her more than [the] love which he had loved her and he said to her Amnon get up go.
16 Tamar de asi avifafa me hegblɔ be, “Ne ègbem la, evɔ̃ɖi wu nu si nèwɔ kplim gɔ̃ hã.” Ke Amnon meɖo to Tamar ƒe nya siawo o.
And she said to him may not [the] causes of the evil great this [be] more than [the] other which you have done with me to send away me and not he was willing to listen to her.
17 Eyɔ eƒe subɔla eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “He nyɔnu sia do goe le afi sia eye nàtu ʋɔa ɖe eyome.”
And he summoned young man his [who] served him and he said send away please this [woman] from with me the outside towards and lock the door after her.
18 Ale subɔla la hee do goe eye wòtu ʋɔ la ɖe eyome. Edo awu ʋlaya nyui aɖe si fiavinyɔnu siwo menya ŋutsu haɖe o la dona.
And [was] on her a long garment of palms and soles for thus they wore [the] daughters of the king the virgins robes and he made go out her servant his the outside and he locked the door after her.
19 Tamar dze awu la le eɖokui ŋuti, lɔ dzowɔ kɔ ɖe tame, kpla asi ta, henɔ avi fam kple ɣli eye wòdzo.
And she took Tamar ash[es] on head her and [the] long garment of the palms and soles which [was] on her she tore and she put hand her on head her and she went continuously and she cried out.
20 Nɔvia Absalom biae be, “Nyateƒee be Amnon gblẽ wòa? Mègana wòave wò nenema kura o, elabena ƒome ɖeka sia me ko nya la dzɔ le. Esia menye nya aɖeke si ŋu nàtsi dzi le alea o!” Ale Tamar nɔ nɔvia Absalom gbɔ abe nyɔnu si ɖi gbɔ̃ eɖokui ene.
And he said to her Absalom brother her ¿ Amnon brother your has he been with you and now O sister my keep silent [is] brother your he may not you set heart your to the matter this and she dwelt Tamar a desolate [woman] [the] house of Absalom brother her.
21 Esi Fia David se nya si dzɔ la, edo dɔmedzoe ŋutɔ.
And the king David he heard all the things these and it burned to him exceedingly.
22 Absalom lé fu Amnon le esi wògblẽ nɔvia, Tamar ta ale gbegbe be megaƒoa nu kplii gɔ̃ hã o.
And not he spoke Absalom with Amnon from bad and unto good for he hated Absalom Amnon on [the] thing that he had humbled Tamar sister his.
23 Le ƒe eve megbe la, wonɔ fu kom na Absalom ƒe alẽwo le Baal Hazor, le Efraim du la gbɔ. Absalom kpe fiaviŋutsuwo katã be woava afi ma.
And it was to two years days and they belonged shearers to Absalom at Baal Hazor which [is] near Ephraim and he invited Absalom all [the] sons of the king.
24 Eyi fofoa David gbɔ hekpe eya hã kple eŋumewo be woava kpɔ dzidzɔ kple ye.
And he went Absalom to the king and he said here! please shearers [belong] to servant your let him go please the king and servants his with servant your.
25 Ke fofoa gblɔ nɛ be, “Ao, vinye, ne mí katã míeva la, míanye agba na wò akpa.” Absalom ƒoe ɖe enu gake melɔ̃ ɖe yiyi dzi o; ɖeko wòda akpe nɛ ɖe eƒe amekpekpe la ta.
And he said the king to Absalom may [we] not O son my may not please we go all of us and not we will be heavy on you and he urged him and not he was willing to go and he blessed him.
26 Absalom gblɔ be, “Enyo; ne wò ŋutɔ màte ŋu ava o hã la, màɖo nɔvinye, Amnon ɖa ɖe tewòƒe oa?” Fia la biae be, “Nu ka ta maɖo Amnon ɖa?”
And he said Absalom and not let him go please with us Amnon brother my and he said to him the king why? will he go with you.
27 Absalom yi nya la ƒoƒo ɖe fia la nu dzi va se ɖe esime wòlɔ̃ eye wòna via ŋutsuwo katã, ame siwo dome Amnon hã nɔ la yi.
And he urged him Absalom and he sent with him Amnon and all [the] sons of the king.
28 Absalom gblɔ na eƒe amewo be, “Milala va se ɖe esime Amnon namu aha, ekema ne mewɔ dzesi aɖe na mi ko la, miawui! Migavɔ̃ o, nyee nye miaƒe aƒetɔ eye esiae nye nye ɖoɖo. Milé dzi ɖe ƒo ne miawɔe!”
And he commanded Absalom servants his saying look please when is good [the] heart of Amnon with the wine and I will say to you strike down Amnon and you will kill him may not you be afraid ¿ In-deed I I have commanded you be strong and become sons of strength.
29 Ale Absalom ƒe amewo wɔ Amnon abe ale si Absalom ɖo na wo ene. Tete fia la ƒe viwo katã lia woƒe tedzisɔwo dzi eye wosi dzo.
And they did [the] servants of Absalom to Amnon just as he had commanded Absalom and they arose - all [the] sons of the king and they mounted each on mule his and they fled.
30 Esi wonɔ mɔa dzi la, David se be, “Absalom wu fia la ƒe viwo katã eye wo dometɔ ɖeka pɛ gɔ̃ hã mesusɔ o.”
And it was they [were] on the way and the report it came to David saying he has struck down Absalom all [the] sons of the king and not he is left of them one.
31 Fia la tsi tsitre, dze eƒe awuwo eye wòmlɔ anyigba, le konyifafa me, eŋumewo hã dze woƒe awuwo le ŋɔdzi kple konyifafa ta.
And he arose the king and he tore garments his and he lay down [the] ground towards and all servants his [were] standing torn of garments.
32 Ke Yonadab, David nɔviŋutsu, Simea ƒe viŋutsu gblɔ be, “Mele be nye aƒetɔ nabu be wowu fiaviŋutsuawo katã o. Amnon ko wowu! Esiae nye Absalom ƒe tameɖoɖo si wògblɔna tso gbe si gbe ke Amnon gblẽ nɔvia nyɔnu Tamar.
And he answered Jonadab - [the] son of Shimeah [the] brother of David and he said may not he say lord my all the young men [the] sons of the king they have killed for Amnon to only him he has died for on [the] mouth of Absalom it was determined from [the] day humbled he Tamar sister his.
33 Mele be nye aƒetɔ, fia la naƒo to nya sia bena fiaviŋutsuawo katã ku o. Amnon koe ku.”
And therefore may not he set lord my the king to heart his a word saying all [the] sons of the king they have died that (except *Q(K)*) Amnon to only him he has died.
34 Ke Absalom si le teƒea. Azɔ, dzɔla si le Yerusalem ƒe gli la dzi la, kpɔ ameha gã aɖe le togbɛ la ŋu wogbɔna Yerusalem.
And he fled Absalom and he lifted up the servant who kept watch (eyes his *Q(K)*) and he saw and there! a people numerous [was] coming from [the] road behind him (at the descent and he went the watchman and he told to the king and he said men I saw [were] going down from direction of Horonaim *X*) from [the] side of the mountain.
35 Yonadab gblɔ na fia la be, “Kpɔ ɖa, woawoe nye emawo! Viwò ŋutsuwo gbɔna ɖa abe ale si megblɔ ene.”
And he said Jonadab to the king there! [the] sons of the king they have come according to [the] word of servant your so it has happened.
36 Eteƒe medidi o la, wova do henɔ avi fam. Fia la kple eŋumewo hã fa avi vevie.
And it was - when finished he to speak and there! [the] sons of the king they came and they lifted up voice their and they wept and also the king and all servants his they wept a weeping a great very.
37 Absalom si yi Talmai, Amihud ƒe vi Gesuri fia gbɔ. Ke Fia David faa via ŋutsu la gbe sia gbe.
And Absalom he fled and he went to Talmai [the] son of (Ammihud *Q(K)*) [the] king of Geshur and he mourned on son his all the days.
38 Absalom si yi Gesur eye wònɔ afi ma ƒe etɔ̃.
And Absalom he fled and he went Geshur and he was there three years.
39 Esi Fia David dzudzɔ Amnon fafa la, edi vevie be yeagakpɔ ye vi Absalom.
And it [fem] completed David the king to go out against Absalom for he was comforted on Amnon that he had died.
