Then take the bottle of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Yahweh says this: “I have anointed you king over Israel.”' Then open the door, and run off; do not delay.”
4 Nyagblɔɖilawo ƒe nusrɔ̃la la wɔ nu si wògblɔ nɛ. Esi wòva ɖo Ramot Gilead la,
So the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
5 ekpɔ Yehu wònɔ anyi ɖe ehati asrafomegãwo dome. Egblɔ nɛ be, “Nya aɖe le asinye na wò.” Yehu biae be, “Na mía dometɔ ka?” Nusrɔ̃la la ɖo eŋu be, “Na wò, Yehu.”
When he arrived, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. So the young prophet said, “I have come on an errand to you, captain.” Jehu replied, “To which of us?” The young prophet answered, “To you, captain.”
6 Ale Yehu dzo le ehatiwo dome heyi aƒea me. Nusrɔ̃la la kɔ ami la ɖe tame nɛ eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Yehowa, Israel ƒe Mawu la gblɔ be, ‘Mesi ami na wò eye meɖo wò fiae ɖe Yehowa ƒe dukɔ, Israel nu.
So Jehu arose and went into the house, and the prophet poured the oil on his head and said to Jehu, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this: 'I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, over Israel.
7 Ele be nàtsrɔ̃ Ahab ƒe ƒometɔwo eye nàbia nye nyagblɔɖilawo kple ame siwo Yezebel wu la ƒe hlɔ̃.
You must kill the family of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, who were murdered by the hand of Jezebel.
8 Ele be nàtsrɔ̃ Ahab ƒe ƒometɔwo katã; àtsrɔ̃ ŋutsu ɖe sia ɖe le Israel, ame ka kee wònye hã ele be nàtsrɔ̃e.’
For the whole family of Ahab will perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male child, whether he is a slave or a free person.
9 Matsrɔ̃ Ahab ƒe ƒome la abe ale si metsrɔ̃ Yeroboam, Nebat ƒe vi kple Baasa, Ahiya ƒe vi ƒe ƒomewo ene.
I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah.
10 Avuwo aɖu Ahab srɔ̃, Yezebel le Yezreel eye ame aɖeke maɖii o!” Esia megbe la, nusrɔ̃la la ʋu ʋɔa eye wòsi dzo.
The dogs will eat Jezebel in Jezreel, and there will be no one to bury her.'” Then the prophet opened the door and ran off.
11 Yehu trɔ yi xɔlɔ̃awo gbɔ eye wo dometɔ ɖeka biae be, “Nu ka dim aɖaʋatɔ ma le? Nya kae dzɔ?” Yehu ɖo eŋu be, “Mienya ame si wònye kple nu si dim wòle la nyuie.”
Then Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, “Is everything alright? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” Jehu answered them, “You know the man and the kinds of things he says.”
12 Woɖo eŋu be, “Ao, míenya o, gblɔe na mí.” “Egblɔ nya si nusrɔ̃la la gblɔ nɛ la na wo eye wòna wonya be woɖo ye fiae ɖe Israel nu!”
They said, “That is a lie. Tell us.” Jehu answered, “He said this and that to me, and he also said, 'This is what Yahweh says: I have anointed you as king over Israel.'”
13 Enumake wotsɔ woƒe awuwo ɖo ɖe atrakpuiawo dzi, woku kpẽ eye wodo ɣli be, “Yehu zu fia!”
Then each of them quickly took off his outer garment and put it under Jehu at the top of the steps. They blew the trumpet and said, “Jehu is king.”
14 Aleae Yehu, Yehosafat ƒe vi kple Nimsi ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi dze aglãe ɖe fia Yoram ŋu. (Ke Yoram kple Israel blibo la nɔ ŋudzɔ na Aram fia Hazael le Ramot Gilead.
In this way Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram had been defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Aram,
15 Emegbe Fia Yoram trɔ va Yezreel be woada gbe le abi si Arameatɔwo de eŋu le aʋa la wɔwɔ me kple Aram fia Hazael la nɛ.) Yehu gblɔ na ame siwo nɔ egbɔ la be, “Esi miedi be maɖu fia la, migana ame aɖeke nasi ayi Yezreel aɖagblɔ nu si míewɔ la o.”
but King Joram had gone back to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds that the Arameans had given him, when he had fought against Hazael king of Aram. Jehu said to the servants of Joram, “If this is your opinion, then let no one escape and go out of the city, in order to go tell this news in Jezreel.”
16 Yehu ge ɖe tasiaɖam me enumake eye eya ŋutɔ yi Yezreel be yeaɖadi Fia Yoram, ame si xɔ abi eye wòmlɔ afi ma. Yuda fia Ahazia hã va afi ma be yeakpɔ Fia Yoram ɖa.
So Jehu rode in a chariot to Jezreel; for Joram was resting there. Now Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17 Dzɔla si nɔ Fia Yehoram ƒe gbetakpɔxɔ dzi la kpɔ Yehu kple eƒe amewo gbɔna ɖa eye wòdo ɣli be, “Ame aɖe gbɔna!” Fia Yehoram ɖe gbe be, “Dɔ sɔdola aɖe ɖa wòakpɔe ɖa be xɔlɔ̃e loo alo futɔe hã.”
The watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came at a distance; he said, “I see a group of men coming.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send him out to meet them; tell him to say, 'Are you coming in peace?'”
18 Ale asrafo aɖe do sɔ yi ɖakpe Yehu hegblɔ nɛ be, “Fia la di be yeanya nenye xɔlɔ̃e nènye loo alo futɔe nènye. Ŋutifafa mee nèva lea?” Yehu ɖo eŋu be, “Nu ka nènya tso ŋutifafa ŋu? Dze yonyeme.” Dzɔla la do ɣli gblɔ na fia la be ame dɔdɔ la yi ɖakpee gake mele gbɔgbɔm o.
So a man was sent on horseback to meet him; he said, “The king says this: 'Are coming in peace?'” So Jehu said, “What have you to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me.” Then the watchman told the king, “The messenger has met them, but he is not coming back.”
19 Ale fia la gaɖo sɔdola bubu ɖa. Eyi ɖatu wo eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Ale fia la gblɔe nye esi, ‘Ŋutifafa dzie mielea?’” Yehu ɖo eŋu be, “Ŋutifafanya kae tsɔ gbɔwò? Va, dze yonyeme!”
Then he sent out a second man on horseback, who came to them and said, “The king says this: 'Are you coming in peace?'” Jehu answered, “What have you to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me.”
20 Dzɔla la gado ɣli be, “Eya hã mele gbɔgbɔm o! Yehu kokoko wòanye elabena eƒe tasiaɖam le du ƒum sesĩe.”
Again the watchman reported, “He has met them, but he is not coming back. For the way that the chariot is being driven is the way that Jehu son of Nimshi drives; he is driving wildly.”
21 Fia Yoram ɖe gbe be, “Netsɔ, midzra nye tasiaɖam ɖo nam!” Ale eya kple Yuda fia, Ahazia woyi ɖado go Yehu le Nabɔt ƒe agble me.
So Joram said, “Get my chariot ready.” They prepared his chariot, and Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah rode out, each in his chariot, to meet Jehu. They found him at the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 Fia Yehoram biae be, “Yehu, ŋutifafa dzie nèlea?” Yehu ɖo eŋu be, “Zi ale si dawò Yezebel ƒe trɔ̃subɔsubɔ kple adzewɔwɔ gale mía dome kokoko la, aleke ŋutifafa ate ŋu anɔ anyi?”
When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Are you coming in peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace is there, when the idolatrous acts of prostitution and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel are so many?”
23 Fia Yoram trɔ eƒe tasiaɖam la kaba eye wòsi dzo yina. Edo ɣli gblɔ na Fia Ahazia be, “Ahazia, nugbeɖoɖoe!”
So Joram turned his chariot and fled and said to Ahaziah, “There is treachery, Ahaziah.”
24 Tete Yehu he eƒe da me kple eƒe ŋusẽ katã eye wòte Yehoram ƒe megbe kpam. Aŋutrɔ la ŋɔe yi ɖatɔ eƒe dzi eye wòmu dze tasiaɖam la me heku.
Then Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his shoulders; the arrow went through his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.
25 Yehu gblɔ na Bidkar, ame si nye eƒe tasiaɖamkula gã be, “Kɔe eye nàtsɔe aƒu gbe ɖe Yezreeltɔ Nabɔt ƒe agble me. Ɖo ŋku ale si nye kpli wò míenɔ tasiaɖamwo me nɔ fofoa Ahab megbe esi Yehowa ƒe nyagblɔɖi sia va ku ɖe eŋuti be,
Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up and throw him in the field of Naboth the Jezreelite. Think about how when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh placed this prophecy against him:
26 ‘Etsɔ si va yi la mekpɔ Nabɔt ƒe ʋu kple viawo ƒe ʋu. Yehowae gblɔe eye makpɔ egbɔ be, exɔ tohehe ɖe nu sia ta le anyigba sia dzi. Yehowae gblɔe.’ Eya ta azɔ la kɔe ƒu gbe ɖe anyigba ma dzi le Yehowa ƒe nya la nu.”
'Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—declares Yahweh—and I will surely make you pay for it on this field—declares Yahweh. Now then, pick him up and throw him on this field, according to the word of Yahweh.”
27 Esi Yuda fia Ahazia kpɔ nu si va dzɔ la, esi dze Bet Hagan mɔ dzi. Yehu kplɔe ɖo nɔ ɣli dom be, “Miwu eya hã!” Ale wode abi eŋu le eƒe tasiaɖam la me le Gur si te ɖe Ibleam ŋuti la ƒe mɔ dzi, ke ete ŋu si dzo yi Megido afi si wòyi ɖaku ɖo.
When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled up the road to Beth Haggan. But Jehu followed him, and said, “Kill him also in the chariot,” and they shot him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. Ahaziah fled to Megiddo and died there.
28 Eƒe dɔlawo kɔe de tasiaɖam me yi Yerusalem eye woɖii ɖe fofoawo gbɔ ɖe eƒe yɔdo me le David ƒe du la me.
His servants carried his body in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
29 Ahazia ƒe fiaɖuɖu ɖe Yuda dzi dze egɔme le Ahab ƒe vi Yoram ƒe fiaɖuɖu ɖe Israel dzi ƒe ƒe wuiɖekɛlia me.
Now it was in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab that Ahaziah had begun to reign over Judah.
30 Esi Yezebel se be Yehu va Yezreel la, ede ama eƒe aɖaba, dzra eƒe taɖa ɖo nyuie eye wòtsi tsitre ɖe fiasã la ƒe fesre ɖeka to hele mɔtata la dzi kpɔm.
When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes, arranged her hair, and looked out the window.
31 Esi Yehu ge ɖe fiasã la me la, Yezebel do ɣli ɖe eta gblɔ be, “Wò, Zimri, wò amewula, nu ka dim nèle le afi sia?”
As Jehu was entering the gate, she said to him, “Are you coming in peace, you Zimri, your master's murderer?”
32 Yehu fɔ kɔ dzi, kpɔ Yezebel le fesre la nu eye wòdo ɣli bia be, “Ame kawoe le dzinye?” Ŋutsu tata eve alo etɔ̃ do mo ɖe fesre la nu kpɔe ɖo ɖa.
Jehu looked up at the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Then two or three eunuchs looked out.
33 Yehu gblɔ na wo be, “Midae ɖo ɖe anyigba!” Ale woda Yezebel to fesre la to wòge va dze anyigba. Eƒe ʋu hlẽ ɖe gli la kple sɔwo ŋu, Yehu do eƒe tasiaɖam kple sɔwo, zɔ eƒe ŋutilã kukua dzi.
So Jehu said, “Throw her down.” So they threw Jezebel down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and the horses, and Jehu trampled her underfoot.
34 Ege ɖe fiasã la me heɖu nu eye wòno nu le afi ma. Le esia megbe la, egblɔ be, “Ame aɖe nayi aɖaɖi nyɔnu fiƒodeme sia elabena fia vinyɔnue.”
When Jehu entered the palace, he ate and drank. Then he said, “See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter.”
35 Esi woyi be yewoaɖii la, eƒe taƒu kple eƒe afɔwo kple eƒe asiwo ko wokpɔ.
They went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull, the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Esi wotrɔ gbɔ va gblɔ nu siwo wokpɔ na Yehu la, egblɔ be, “Nu si tututu Yehowa gblɔ lae va eme! Egblɔ na Nyagblɔɖila Eliya be avuwo aɖu Yezebel ƒe kukua le Yezreel
So they came back and told Jehu. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'In the land at Jezreel the dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel,
37 eye eƒe ŋutilã akaka ɖe anyigba abe ale si wokakaa aɖu ɖe agble me ene, ale be ame aɖeke mate ŋu agblɔ be Yezebel ƒe ŋutilãe nye esia o.”
and the body of Jezebel will be like dung on the surface of the fields in the land at Jezreel, so that no one will be able to say, “This is Jezebel.”'”
