1 Le Fia Yehoyakim ƒe fiaɖuɖu me la, Babilonia fia Nebukadnezar va dze anyigba la dzi eye Yehoyakim va zu etenɔla ƒe etɔ̃. Le esia megbe la, etrɔ susu eye wòdze aglã ɖe Nebukadnezar ŋu.
In Jehoiakim's days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked Judah; Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then Jehoiakim turned back and rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar.
2 Yehowa ɖo adzohawo ɖa tso Kaldeatɔwo, Siriatɔwo, Moabtɔwo kple Amonitɔwo dome be woatsrɔ̃ dukɔ la abe ale si Yehowa gblɔe to eƒe Nyagblɔɖilawo dzi be yeawɔ ene.
Yahweh sent against Jehoiakim bands of Chaldeans, Arameans, Moabites, and Ammonites; he sent them against Judah to destroy it. This was in conformity with the word of Yahweh that had been spoken through his servants the prophets.
3 Nu siawo dzɔ ɖe Yuda dzi le Yehowa ƒe ɖoɖo nu ale be yeaɖe wo ɖa le yeƒe ŋkume le Manase ƒe nu vɔ̃ kple nu siwo katã wòwɔ la ta.
It was certainly at the mouth of Yahweh that this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight, because of the sins of Manasseh, all that he did,
4 Nu siawoe nye ʋu maɖifɔwo kɔkɔ ɖi elabena ekɔ ʋu maɖifɔ geɖewo ɖi le Yerusalem eye Yehowa medi be yeatsɔ nu vɔ̃ sia akee o.
and also because of the innocent blood that he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yahweh was not willing to pardon that.
5 Woŋlɔ Yehoyakim ƒe ŋutinya mamlɛa ɖe Yuda fiawo ƒe ŋutinyagbalẽ me.
As for the other matters concerning Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?
6 Esi Yehoyakim ku la, via Yehoyatsin ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
Jehoiakim slept with his ancestors, and Jehoiachin his son became king in his place.
7 Egipte fia Farao megatrɔ gbɔ emegbe o elabena Babilonia fia yi ɖanɔ anyigba si Egipte fia gblɔ be enye ye tɔ la dzi. Teƒe siawo nye Yudanyigba blibo la tso Egipte tɔsisi la to yi ɖatɔ Frat tɔsisi la.
The king of Egypt did not attack any more out of his land, because the king of Babylon had conquered all the lands that had been controlled by the king of Egypt, from the brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River.
8 Yehoyatsin xɔ ƒe wuienyi esi wòzu fia; eɖu fia le Yerusalem ɣleti etɔ̃. Dadae nye Nehusta, Elnatan ƒe vinyɔnu. Etso Yerusalem
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother's name was Nehushta; she was the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9 Ewɔ nu vɔ̃ le Yehowa ŋkume abe ale si fofoa wɔ ene.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh; he did all that his father had done.
10 Esi Yehoyakin nye fia la, Babilonia fia Nebukadnezar ƒe asrafowo ɖe to ɖe Yerusalem.
At that time the army of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked Jerusalem and besieged the city.
11 Esi woɖe to ɖe dua vɔ la, Nebukadnezar ŋutɔ va ɖo Yerusalem,
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his soldiers were besieging it,
12 eye Yuda fia, Yehoyatsin, viawo, eƒe aɖaŋudelawo, sãmedɔwɔlawo kple fia dada na ta. Nebukadnezar lɔ̃ ɖe tanana la dzi eye wòlé Fia Yehoyatsin yi ɖade gaxɔ me le Babilonia le Nebukadnezar ƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe enyilia me.
and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers. The king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his own reign.
13 Babiloniatɔwo lɔ kesinɔnuwo katã tso gbedoxɔ la kple fiasã la me hekpe ɖe sikagba siwo katã Israel fia, Solomo, da ɖe gbedoxɔ la me ŋu le Yehowa ƒe ɖoɖo nu.
Nebuchadnezzar took out from there all the valuable things in the house of Yahweh, and those in the king's palace. He cut into pieces all the golden objects that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Yahweh, as Yahweh had said would happen.
14 Fia Nebukadnezar ɖe aboyo ame akpe ewo tso Yerusalem. Fiaŋumewo katã kple asrafo nyuitɔwo kple aɖaŋudɔwɔlawo kple nutala nyuitɔwo hã nɔ aboyomeawo dome. Ale ame siwo menya dɔwɔna aɖeke tututu o la ko wogblẽ ɖe anyigba la dzi.
He took into exile all Jerusalem, all the leaders, and all the fighting men, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one was left except the poorest people in the land.
15 Fia Nebukadnezar kplɔ Fia Yehoyatsin, srɔ̃awo kple eƒe aɖaŋudelawo kple dadaa yi Babilonia.
Nebuchadnezzar took Jehoiachin into exile at Babylon, as well as the king's mother, wives, officers, and the chief men of the land. He took them into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16 Ekplɔ asrafo nyuitɔ akpe adre kpe ɖe aɖaŋudɔwɔla kple nutala akpe ɖeka ŋu. Ame siawo katã nye ame sesẽ siwo ate ŋu awɔ aʋa.
All the fighting men, seven thousand in number, and one thousand craftsmen and blacksmiths, all of them fit for fighting—the king of Babylon brought these men into exile at Babylon.
17 Babilonia fia tsɔ Fia Yehoyatsin ƒe nyruiyɔvi, Matania ɖo fiae eye wòtrɔ ŋkɔ nɛ be Zedekia.
The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's father's brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18 Zedekia xɔ ƒe blaeve-vɔ-ɖekɛ esi wòzu fia. Eɖu fia le Yerusalem ƒe wuiɖekɛ. Dadae nye Hamutal, Yeremia ƒe vinyɔnu eye wòtso Libna.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hamutal; she was the daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
19 Ewɔ nu vɔ̃ le Yehowa ŋkume abe ale si Yehoyakim wɔe ene.
He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh; he did all that Jehoiakim had done.
20 Yehowa ƒe dziku tae nu siawo katã va Yerusalem kple Yuda dzi ɖo. Eye le nuwuwu la, eɖe wo ɖa le eƒe ŋkuta. Ke azɔ la, Zedekia dze aglã ɖe Babilonia fia ŋuti.
Through Yahweh's anger, all these events happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he drove them out of his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
