< Korintotɔwo 2 2 >

1 Ke azɔ la, nye ŋutɔ meɖoe be nyemagava mia gbɔ kple nu si agahe nuxaxa vɛ na mi o,
I decided that I would not visit you again in grief;
2 elabena ne megade nuxaxa miaƒe dzi me la, miate ŋu ado dzidzɔ nam ne mele mia gbɔ o. Evɔ ame bubu aɖeke hã meli si ado dzidzɔ nam tsɔ wu miawo o.
for if I cause you grief, who is there to cause me joy except those whom I have grieved?
3 Esia ta meŋlɔ agbalẽ ma na mi, ale be miaɖɔ nuwo ɖo hafi mava elabena nyemedi be makpɔ naneke le mi, ame siwo ŋu meɖoa ŋu ɖo be miado dzidzɔ geɖe nam la ŋu, si ade nuxaxa nye dzi me o. Menya nyuie be ne meva mia gbɔ le dzidzɔ me la, ekema miawo hã miakpɔ dzidzɔ geɖe.
And for this very reason I wrote you, that I might not come only to be grieved by those who ought to give me joy; and because I trusted in you all, that my joy is the joy of all of you.
4 Nuxaxa kple vevesese geɖe nɔ nye dzi me, eye aɖatsi ge le mo nam gɔ̃ hã le agbalẽ ma ŋɔŋlɔ me, eye menye ɖe meŋlɔ agbalẽ la be mana miaxa nu o. Ke boŋ meŋlɔe be mana miadze si ale si melɔ̃ mi vevie.
For I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart, through many tears; not to pain you, but to convince you of my love, my abundant love for you.
5 Ne ame aɖe he nuxaxa vɛ la, menye nyee wòdo nuxaxa na o ke boŋ mi katãe, mele egblɔm alea be nyemagate gbe ɖe edzi fũu o.
As to him who has been, and now is, causing pain, it is not I whom he has pained, but all of you - at least some of you (not to overstate the case).
6 Eya ta tohehe si ame akpa gãtɔ da ɖe ame ma dzi la sɔ gbɔ nɛ.
Sufficient for the offender is the punishment imposed by the majority;
7 Azɔ ele be miatsɔ eƒe nu vɔ̃wo akee, eye miafa akɔ nɛ. Ne menye nenema o la, ase veve eye dzi aɖe le eƒo ale gbegbe be wòatrɔ ɖa tso nyateƒe la gbɔ.
so that now you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest he should be overwhelmed by the excess of his grief.
8 Meɖe kuku na mi, miɖee fiae azɔ be miegalɔ̃e pɛpɛpɛ abe tsã ene.
So I beg you to reinstate him in your love.
9 Meŋlɔ agbalẽ ma na mi be makpɔe ɖa be miele klalo awɔ ɖe nye ɖoɖowo dzi, eye be makpɔe ɖa be toɖoɖo ƒe gbɔgbɔ le mia me mahã?
For this very purpose also I wrote you (before), that I might test you, to see if you were obedient in every respect.
10 Nu si mietsɔ ke ame aɖe la, nye hã metsɔe kee, eye edze be nye hã matsɔe ke le Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo ƒe ŋusẽ me hena miaƒe nyonyo ko.
If you forgive the man, I forgive him, too; for whatever I have forgiven has been forgiven in the presence of Christ,
11 Susu bubu si ta wòdze be miatsɔ nu vɔ̃ ake amewo ɖo lae nye be miaxe mɔ na Satana be wòagaɖu mia dzi, ahe tɔtɔ va mia dome o, elabena mí katã míedze si ale si wòdi be yeade zitɔtɔ hamewo domee.
for your sakes, that I may not be overreached by Satan, for I am not ignorant of his devices.
12 Esi meva Troa be magblɔ Kristo ƒe nyanyui la le afi ma la, mekpɔ be Aƒetɔ la ŋutɔ ʋu mɔ nam be dɔ la nayi edzi nyuie,
Now when I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, although a door was opened to me in the Lord,
13 gake metsi dzi le ɖokuinye me, elabena nyemekpɔ nɔvinye lɔlɔ̃tɔ Tito le afi ma o. Esia ta medo taflatse na Troatɔwo, eye medzo le afi ma heyi Makedonia.
I could get no peace of mind because I failed to find Titus, my brother. So I bade them good-bye and started off for Macedonia.
14 Ke akpe na Mawu be to nu si Kristo wɔ me la, míekpɔ dziɖuɖu eye míekaka nyanyui la abe ami ʋeʋĩ si ʋẽna lĩlĩlĩ ene ɖe amewo dome le afi sia afi si míeyi.
But thanks be to God, who in every place is leading me in the train of Christ’s triumph, and is making manifest through me the knowledge of him, an odor of incense everywhere.
15 Elabena Mawu wɔ mí míezu ami si ʋẽna lĩlĩlĩ la, eye Kristo ƒe ʋeʋẽ lĩlĩlĩ si wòtsɔ de mía me la, kaka ɖe ame siwo katã kpɔ xɔxɔ kple ame siwo mekpɔe o la siaa dome.
I am Christ’s fragrance upwafted unto God, among those who are being saved and those who are perishing;
16 Nunana nyui si Kristo tsɔ na mí la ɖi ku ƒe ʋeʋẽ na ame siwo le tsɔtsrɔ̃m. Ke le ame siwo xɔ Kristo dzi se ya gbɔ la, míenye ʋeʋẽ lĩlĩlĩ si naa agbe. Azɔ biabia lae nye be ame ka ŋu ŋutete le be wòawɔ dɔ siawo?
to these latter an odor of death to death, to the former, of life to life. For such service as this, who is sufficient?
17 Míawo la, míele abe ame siwo tsɔ mawunya la ɖo ŋgonu hele amewo blem, le ga xɔm le wo si la ene o. Esi wònye Mawue dɔ mí ta la, míeƒoa nu kple Kristo ƒe ŋusẽ la, eye Mawu ƒe ŋku le mía ŋu ɖaa.
I am; for I am not like most, trafficking in the word of God, but rather from a sincere heart, like a man of God, I speak in Christ, in the very presence of God.
