1 Solomo, David ƒe vi li ke eɖokui sesĩe ɖe eƒe fiaɖuɖu la me elabena Yehowa, eƒe Mawu la li kplii eye wòna eƒe ŋkɔ de dzi ŋutɔ.
Solomon, son of David, strengthened his hold over the kingdom, and the Lord God was with him and made him extremely powerful.
2 Tete Solomo ƒo nu na Israel blibo la, na asrafo akpewo kple asrafo alafawo dzi kpɔlawo, ʋɔnudrɔ̃lawo kple kplɔlawo katã le Israel kple ƒometatɔwo
Solomon sent for all the Israelite leaders, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every family leader.
3 eye Solomo kple ameha blibo la yi vɔsaƒe si le Gibeon. Mawu ƒe agbadɔ si Mose, Yehowa ƒe dɔla tu le gbedzi la nɔ afi ma.
Solomon went with the whole assembly to the high place at Gibeon, for this was the site of God's Tent of Meeting that Moses, the Lord's servant, had made in the wilderness.
4 Fia David va tu agbadɔ aɖe emegbe ɖe Yerusalem na Yehowa ƒe nubablaɖaka la eye wòtsɔe tso Kiriat Yearim va afi si wòdzra ɖo ɖi nɛ.
David had brought up the Ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place in Jerusalem where he had set up a tent for it.
5 Ke akɔblivɔsamlekpui si Bezalel, Uri ƒe viŋutsu, ame si nye Hur ƒe viŋutsu wɔ la nɔ Gibeon le Yehowa ƒe agbadɔ la ƒe ŋgɔgbe ale Solomo kple ameawo bia eta le afi ma.
However, the bronze altar made by Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, was there in front of the Tent of the Lord, so that is where Solomon and the assembly went to worship.
6 Solomo yi akɔblivɔsamlekpui la gbɔ le Yehowa ŋkume le agbadɔ la me eye wòsa numevɔ akpe ɖeka ɖe edzi.
Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord, in front of the Tent of Meeting. There he presented one thousand burnt offerings.
7 Le zã ma me la, Mawu ɖe eɖokui fia Solomo eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Bia nu sia nu si dze ŋuwò la eye matsɔe ana wò!”
That night God appeared to Solomon and told him, “Ask what you want me to give you.”
8 Solomo ɖo eŋu be, “Oo Mawu, ève fofonye, David nu ŋutɔ eye azɔ la, ètsɔ fiaɖuƒe la nam.
Solomon responded to God, “You showed trustworthy love without limit to my father David, and you have made me king in his place.
9 Esia koe nye nu si mehiã elabena èwɔ ŋugbe si nèdo na fofonye, David la dzi eye nètsɔm ɖo Fiae ɖe dukɔ si me viwo sɔ gbɔ abe anyigbadzike ene la dzi!
Lord God, please keep the promise you made to my father David. You have made me king over a nation that has as many people as the dust of the earth.
10 Azɔ la, na nunya kple sidzedzem be maɖu nye amewo dzi nyuie elabena ame ka ate ŋu aɖu dukɔ gã sia tɔgbi abe wò dukɔ la ene dzi le eɖokui si?”
Please give me wisdom and knowledge to lead this people—for who can rule with justice this great people of yours?”
11 Mawu ɖo eŋu be, “Esi wò didi gãtɔe nye be yeakpe ɖe yeƒe amewo ŋu eye mèbia kesinɔnuwo kple bubu na ɖokuiwò o, mèbia be maƒo fi de yeƒe futɔwo o eye mèbia agbe didi na ɖokuiwò o, ke boŋ èbia nunya kple sidzedze be, yeakplɔ yeƒe amewo nyuie ta la,
God told Solomon: “Because this is what you really wanted, and you didn't ask for wealth, possessions, or honor, or the death of those who hate you, or for a long life, but instead you asked for wisdom and knowledge so you can rule with justice my people that I have made you king over;
12 matsɔ nunya kple sidzedze si nèbia la na wò! Hekpe ɖe esiawo ŋu la, matsɔ kesinɔnuwo, ga kple bubu si tɔgbi nyemena fia aɖeke kpɔ haɖe o la, na wò! Gawu la, fia gã sia tɔgbi aɖeke maganɔ anyi akpɔ gbeɖe le xexe blibo la me o!”
wisdom and knowledge is given to you. I will give you wealth, possessions, and honor as well, much more than any king who came before you has had, or who comes after you will ever have.”
13 Azɔ la, Solomo dzo le agbadɔ la me, eɖi tso togbɛ la dzi le Gibeon heyi Yerusalem be yeaɖu Israel dzi.
Then Solomon returned to Jerusalem from the Tent of Meeting in Gibeon, and he ruled over Israel.
14 Eƒo tasiaɖam akpe ɖeka alafa ene kple sɔdola akpe wuieve nu ƒu be woadzɔ du siwo me tasiaɖamwo le la ŋu, togbɔ be woda ɖewo ɖe fia la gbɔ le Yerusalem hã.
Solomon built up an army of chariots and horses. He had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horses, which he placed in the chariot cities, and also with him in Jerusalem.
15 Le Fia Solomo ƒe fiaɖuɣi la, klosalo kple sika bɔ ɖe Yerusalem abe ale si kpewo nɔa mɔ dzi ene eye wowɔa sedati ŋu dɔ abe ale si wowɔa gboti si bɔ fũu la ŋu dɔ ene.
The king made silver and gold as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar wood as plentiful as sycamore-figs trees in the foothills.
16 Solomo dɔ sɔsitsalawo ɖe Egipte kple Kue be woaƒle sɔhawo vɛ. Fia la ƒe asitsalawo ƒlea wo tso Kue.
Solomon imported horses for himself from Egypt and Kue; the king's traders bought them in Kue.
17 Wodɔ tasiaɖam tso Egipte esi ƒe asie nye klosaloga kilogram adre kple sɔ si ƒe asie nye, klosaloga kilogram ɖeka kple afã. Woawo hã dzraa wo na dutafiawo, ame siwo nye Hititɔwo kple Aramtɔwo ƒe fiawo.
A chariot could be imported from Egypt for six hundred silver shekels, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. In the same way they exported them to all the Hittite kings and the Aramean kings.
