< Kronika 2 25 >
1 Amazia xɔ ƒe blaeve vɔ atɔ̃ esi wòzu fia. Eɖu fia le Yerusalem ƒe blaeve vɔ asieke. Dadaa ŋkɔe nye Yehoadin, tso Yerusalem.
Twenty-five years old, was Amaziah, when he began to reign, and, twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.
2 Ewɔa nu si dze Mawu ŋu enuenu gake menye ɣe sia ɣi o!
And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —only not with a whole heart.
3 Esi wòkpɔ be fiaɖuƒe la li ke ɖe yeƒe asi me la, ewu dumegã siwo katã wu fofoa.
And it came to pass, when the kingdom was confirmed unto him, that he slew his servants who had smitten the king his father;
4 ke mewu wo viwo ya o. Ewɔ ɖe Yehowa ƒe se si wòde woŋlɔ ɖe Mose ƒe segbalẽa me ene be, “Womawu fofowo ɖe wo viwo ƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta o, nenema ke viwo hã maku ɖe wo fofowo ƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta o, ke boŋ ele be ame sia ame naku ɖe eya ŋutɔ ƒe nu vɔ̃ ta.”
but, their sons, he put not to death, —but as it is written in the law—in the book of Moses—how that Yahweh commanded, saying-Fathers, shall not die for, sons, and Sons, shall not die, for, fathers, but Each man, for his own sin, shall die.
5 Gawu la, Amazia yɔ Yuda katã ƒo ƒu eye wòde dɔ asi na wo le woƒe ƒomeawo nu be, woanye asrafo akpewo kple asrafo alafa ɖekawo ƒe aʋafiawo na Yuda kple Benyamin katã. Emegbe la etia ɖekakpui siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema eye wokpɔ be woƒe xexlẽme de akpe alafa etɔ̃, wole klalo na asrafodɔ wɔwɔ ame siwo ate ŋu awɔ akplɔ kple akpoxɔnu ŋu dɔ nyuie.
And Amaziah gathered Judah together, and appointed them by their ancestral houses, as rulers of thousands and as rulers of hundreds, for all Judah and Benjamin, —and he numbered them, from twenty years old and upwards, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, who could grasp spear and shield.
6 Hekpe ɖe esia ŋu la, etsɔ aʋawɔla xɔŋkɔ akpe alafa ɖeka tso Israel kple klosaloga tɔn etɔ̃.
And he hired out of Israel, a hundred thousand heroes of valour, for a hundred talents of silver.
7 Ke nyagblɔɖila aɖe va gblɔ nya si tso Mawu gbɔ la nɛ be, “Oo fia, mègatsɔ aʋawɔlawo tso Israel o elabena Yehowa meli kpli wo o.
But, a man of God, came unto him, saying, O king! let not the host of Israel come with thee, —for Yahweh is not with Israel, [with] any of the sons of Ephraim.
8 Ne èna woyi aʋa la kple wò amewo la, aleke ke miawɔ aʋa lae hã la, woaɖu mia dzi kokoko elabena ŋusẽ le Mawu si be wòakpe ɖe mia ŋu loo alo wòagblẽ nu me na mi.”
But, if thou art going, do, be strong for the battle, —God will cause thee to fall before the enemy, for there is strength in God, to help or to cause to fall.
9 Amazia bia Mawu ƒe ame la be, “Klosaloga tɔn etɔ̃ kple afã si mexe ɖe Israel ƒe aʋakɔwo ta ya ɖe?” Mawu ƒe ame la ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Yehowa ate ŋu ana ga wò wòasɔ gbɔ sãa wu ema.”
And Amaziah said unto the man of God, What then shall be done as to the hundred talents, which I have given to the company of Israel? Then said the man of God, Yahweh is able to give thee much more than this.
10 Ale Amazia na aʋawɔla siwo wòtsɔ la trɔ dzo yi Efraim. Nu sia na wobu be, Amazia ɖi gbɔ̃ yewo eye wodo dɔmedzoe ɖe eŋuti ŋutɔ.
So Amaziah separated them, [appointing] unto the company which had come unto him out of Ephraim, to depart unto their own place, —wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, so they returned to their own place, in a heat of anger.
11 Dzi ɖo Amazia ƒo, ekplɔ eƒe aʋakɔ yi Dze Balime eye wowu ame akpe ewo tso Seir.
And, Amaziah, took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, —and smote of the sons of Seir, ten thousand;
12 Wolé ame akpe ewo bubu agbagbe, kplɔ wo yi to aɖe tame; wotu asi wo tso afi ma eye woge dze agakpewo dzi le balime la, nuvevi wɔ wo eye woku.
and the sons of Judah took captive, ten thousand alive, and brought to the top of the crag, —and cast them down from the top of the crag, and, all of them, were torn asunder.
13 Israel ƒe aʋakɔ si Amazia gbugbɔ ɖo ɖe aƒe la, ge ɖe Yudanyigba dzi eye woha nu le du geɖewo me le Bet Horon lɔƒo ɖo ta Samaria. Wowu ame akpe etɔ̃ eye woha aboyonu geɖewo.
But, as for the sons of the company which Amaziah sent back from going with him to the war, they spread themselves out against the cities of Judah, from Samaria, even unto Beth-horon, —and smote of them three thousand, and took great plunder.
14 Esi Fia Amazia ɖu Edomtɔwo dzi eye wòtrɔ gbɔ la, etsɔ legba siwo woxɔ le Seirtɔwo si la gbɔe. Etsɔ wo ɖo mawuwoe, dea ta agu na wo eye wòdoa dzudzɔ na wo.
And so it was, after Amaziah came in from smiting the Edomites, that he brought in the gods of the sons of Seir, and set them up for himself, as gods, —and, before them, used he to bow himself down, and, unto them, used he to burn a perfume.
15 Nu sia do dɔmedzoe na Yehowa ŋutɔ, eya ta wòɖo nyagblɔɖila aɖe ɖa be wòabia Amazia be, “Nu ka ta nèsubɔ mawu siwo mete ŋu ɖe woawo ŋutɔ ƒe amewo tso wò asi me o ɖo?”
Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Amaziah, —and he sent unto him a prophet, and said unto him, Wherefore hast thou sought the gods of the people, which delivered not their own people out of thy hand?
16 Fia Amazia ɖo eŋu na nyagblɔɖila la be, “Ɣe ka ɣie mebia wò aɖaŋuɖoɖo kpɔ? Zi ɖoɖoe kaba, ne menye nenema o la, mana woawu wò.” Esi nyagblɔɖila la dzo yina la, egblɔ na Fia Amazia be, “Menya be Mawu ɖo ta me be yeatsrɔ̃ wò le esi nèsubɔ legba siawo eye mèse nye nuxlɔ̃amenya o la ta.”
And it came to pass, as he spake unto him, that he said to him, To be, counselor to the king, have we appointed thee? forbear thou, wherefore should they smite thee? So the prophet forbare, and said—I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.
17 Azɔ la, Yuda fia, Amazia, se eƒe aɖaŋuɖolawo ƒe gbe eye wòho aʋa ɖe Israel fia, Yoas, Yehoahaz ƒe vi kple Yehu ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi ŋu.
Then Amaziah king of Judah took counsel, and sent unto Joash, son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu king of Israel, saying, —Come, let us look one another in the face!
18 Fia Yoas do lo sia na Amazia be, “Ŋuve sue aɖe le Lebanon towo dzi gblɔ na sedati be, ‘Tsɔ viwò nyɔnu nam maɖe na vinye ŋutsu.’ Le ɣe ma ɣi tututu la, lã wɔadã aɖe va nye avuzi le ŋuve la dzi eye wògbãe ɖe anyigba.
And Joash king of Israel sent unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A thistle that was in Lebanon, sent unto a cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Come! give thy daughter unto my son to wife, —but there passed by a beast of the field that was in Lebanon, and trampled down the thistle.
19 Èle gbɔgblɔm na ɖokuiwò be yeɖu Edomtɔwo dzi eye wònye adegbeƒoƒo gã aɖe na wò.
Thou hast said-Lo! thou hast smitten the Edomites, and thy heart hath lifted thee up to display honour, -Now, abide in thine own house, wherefore shouldst thou engage in strife with Misfortune, and fall, thou and Judah with thee?
20 Amazia meɖo to nya sia o elabena Mawu nɔ ɖoɖo wɔm be yeatsrɔ̃e le esi wòde ta agu na Edomtɔwo ƒe mawuwo ta.
But Amaziah hearkened not, because, from God, it was, to the end he might deliver them up into [their enemies’] hand, —because they had sought the gods of Edom.
21 Israel fia Yoas kple Amazia ƒe aʋakɔwo do go le Bet Semes le Yuda.
So Joash king of Israel came up, and they looked one another in the face, he, and Amaziah king of Judah, —in Beth-shemesh, which belongeth unto Judah.
22 Ke Israel si Yuda eye eƒe aʋakɔ katã si yi aƒe.
Then was Judah defeated, before Israel, —and they fled every man to his own home;
and, Amaziah king of Judah, son of Joash son of Jehoahaz, was taken by Joash king of Israel, in Beth-shemesh, —and he brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim as far as the corner-gate, four hundred cubits;
24 Eye wòlɔ sika kple klosalowo katã kpakple ŋudɔwɔnuawo katã le Obed Edom si me le Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me le hekpe ɖe kesinɔnu siwo katã nɔ fiasã la me kple awɔbamewo ŋuti yi Samaria.
and, all the gold and the silver and all the utensils that were found in the house of God with Obed-edom, and the treasures of the house of the king, and hostages, he took, -and returned to Samaria.
25 Ke Yuda fia Amazia, Yoas vi, nɔ agbe ƒe wuiatɔ̃ le Israel fia Yehoas, Yehoahaz vi ƒe ku megbe.
And Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived, after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, —fifteen years.
26 Woŋlɔ Amazia ƒe ŋutinya mamlɛa ɖe Yuda fiawo ƒe ŋutinyagbalẽ me.
Now, the rest of the story of Amaziah, first and last, lo! it is written in the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
And, after the time that Amaziah turned away from following Yahweh, they made against him a conspiracy in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish, —but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
28 Wokɔ eƒe kukua ɖe sɔwo dzi va ɖi ɖe fiawo ƒe ameɖibɔ me le Yerusalem ƒe akpa si nye Fia David ƒe du la me.
And they brought him on horses, -and buried him with his fathers, in the city of Judah.
