< Timoteo 1 2 >

1 Eya ta mele nu xlɔ̃m amewo be do ŋgɔ na nu sia nu la, woawɔ kukuɖeɖewo, gbedodoɖawo, nyaxɔɖeakɔwo kple akpedada ɖe amewo katã ta,
I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men:
2 ɖe fiawo kple dziɖulawo katã ta be míanɔ anyi le ŋutifafa kple agbe ƒe dziɖeɖi me le mawuvɔvɔ̃ kple kɔkɔenyenye siaa me.
For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity.
3 Esia nyo, eye wòdze Mawu mía Ɖela la ŋu.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 Edi vevie be ame sia ame nakpɔ ɖeɖe, eye wòase nyateƒe sia gɔme be:
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 Yesu Kristo, ame si va xexea me abe amegbetɔ ene la koe va dzra Mawu kple amegbetɔwo dome ɖo.
For there is one God, and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus:
6 Ewɔ esia esi wòtsɔ eƒe agbe na ɖe amewo katã ta. Esia nye ɖaseɖiɖi si Mawu tsɔ na xexea me le ɣeyiɣi nyuitɔ dzi.
Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.
7 Enye nyateƒe matrɔmatrɔ be wotiam be manye Mawu ƒe apostolo kple nyanyuidɔgbedela si agblɔ nyateƒe sia na ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o; afia Mawu ƒe ɖoɖo amewo be woakpɔ ɖeɖe to xɔse me.
Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle, (I say the truth, I lie not, ) a doctor of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Eya ta medi be le afi sia afi la, ŋutsuwo nado woƒe asi kɔkɔewo ɖe dzi na Mawu, ado gbe ɖa, elabena wovo tso nu vɔ̃, dziku kple fuléle si me.
I will therefore that men pray in every place, lifting up pure hands, without anger and contention.
9 Nenema ke medi be nyɔnuwo nado awu ɖe nɔnɔme nyui me, le dzadzɛnyenye kple nu dzeame wɔwɔ me, menye le atsyɔ̃ɖoɖo vivivo kple ɖa ŋɔŋɔe ƒoƒo, sikanuwo kple dzonu xɔasiwo dede kple avɔ xɔasiwo tata me o,
In like manner women also in decent apparel: adorning themselves with modesty and sobriety, not with plaited hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly attire,
10 ke boŋ kple nu nyui wɔwɔ si dze nyɔnu siwo ʋua eme be yewonye mawusubɔlawo.
But as it becometh women professing godliness, with good works.
11 Ele na nyɔnu be wòasrɔ̃ toɖoɖo le ɖoɖoezizi kple ɖokuibɔbɔ siaa me.
Let the woman learn in silence, with all subjection.
12 Nyemeɖe mɔ na nyɔnu be wòafia nu alo aɖu amegã ɖe ŋutsu dzi o, ke boŋ nezi ɖoɖoe.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to use authority over the man: but to be in silence.
13 Nu ka ta? Elabena Mawu wɔ Adam gbã hafi va wɔ Eva.
For Adam was first formed; then Eve.
14 Eye menye Adam Satana ble o, ke boŋ Evae, eye to esia me, nu vɔ̃ va.
And Adam was not seduced; but the woman being seduced, was in the transgression.
15 Eya ta Mawu na be nyɔnuwo nakpe fu ase veve le woƒe vidzidzi me, ke aɖe woƒe luʋɔwo ne woxɔ edzi se, eye wonɔ agbe nyui le lɔlɔ̃ vavã me.
Yet she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.
