1 Ɣe ka ɣie nu siawo katã ava eme? Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, mehiã be magblɔ nya aɖeke tso ema ya ŋuti o,
Concerning now the times and the seasons, brothers, no need you have to you to be written;
2 elabena mienya nyuie be ame aɖeke menya ɣeyiɣi la o. Aƒetɔ la ƒe azãgbe la aɖi ɖe mí abe ale si fiafitɔ vana le zã me ene.
Yourselves for fully you know that (the *k*) day of [the] Lord as a thief by night in this manner comes;
3 Esime amewo le gbɔgblɔm be, “Ŋutifafa kple dedinɔnɔ” li la, gbegblẽ ava ƒo ɖe wo dzi kpoyi abe ale si fu ɖua funɔe, eye mate ŋu asi le enu o ene.
when (for *k*) they may say; Peace and security, then suddenly upon them comes destruction as the labor pains to her in womb [pregnancy] having, and certainly not shall they escape.
4 Ke nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, miawo la, nu siawo mele ɣaɣla ɖe mi o, eye womava ɖi ɖe mi abe fiafitɔ ene, le Aƒetɔ la ƒe azãgbe la o.
You yourselves however, brothers, not are in darkness, that the day you like (a thief *NK(O)*) may grasp;
5 Elabena mi katã la, kekeli kple ŋkeke la ƒe viwoe mienye, eye mienye viviti kple zã tɔwo o,
All (for *no*) you yourselves sons of light are and sons of day; Not we are of night nor of darkness.
6 eya ta minɔ ŋudzɔ ɖaa, eye migadɔ alɔ̃ abe ame bubuwo ene o. Minɔ ŋudzɔ na eƒe vava, eye mianɔ mo xexi.
So then not we may sleep as (also *k*) the others but we may watch and we may be sober.
7 Zã mee amewo dɔa alɔ̃, eye ɣe ma ɣi me kee amewo mua aha.
Those for sleeping by night sleep and those becoming drunk by night get drunk;
8 Ke mina mí ame siwo nye kekeliviwo la, míanɔ mo xexi, eye míatsɔ xɔse kple lɔlɔ̃ ƒe akɔtakpoxɔnu ado, eye míaɖɔ ɖeɖekpɔkpɔ si míele mɔ kpɔm na la abe gakuku ene.
We ourselves however of [the] day being may be sober having put on [the] breastplate of faith and love and [the] helmet [the] hope of salvation;
9 Mawu meɖo be yeahe eƒe dɔmedzoe ƒe to na mi o, ke boŋ be yeaɖe mí to míaƒe Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo dzi.
because not has destined us God for wrath but for obtaining salvation through the Lord of us Jesus Christ
10 Kristo ku ɖe mía ta, ale be míele agbe alo míeku o, ne etrɔ va la, míate ŋu anɔ agbe kplii tegbetegbe.

Therefore do encourage one another and do build up one another even as also you are doing.
12 Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, azɔ la, míele biabiam tso mia si be miade bubu ame siwo wɔa dɔ kple vevidodo le mia dome la ŋu, ame siwo wotsɔ ɖo mia nu le Aƒetɔ la me, eye woxlɔ̃a nu mi.
We implore however you, brothers, to know those toiling among you and taking the lead over you in [the] Lord and admonishing you
13 Mido kɔkɔ ame siawo le lɔlɔ̃ me le woƒe dɔwɔwɔ ta. Minɔ anyi le ŋutifafa me kple mia nɔewo.
and to esteem them super overexcessively super overexcessively super overexcessively in love because of the work of them. do be at peace among (yourselves. *NK(O)*)

15 Mikpɔ egbɔ be ame aɖeke metsɔ vɔ̃ ɖo vɔ̃ teƒe o, ke boŋ midze agbagba be ɣe sia ɣi la, mianyo dɔ me na mia nɔewo kple ame bubu ɖe sia ɖe.
do see that no one evil for evil to anyone may repay, but always the good do pursue also toward one another and toward all.
16 Dzi nedzɔ mi ɣe sia ɣi.
Always do rejoice;
17 Minɔ gbedodoɖa dzi madzudzɔmadzudzɔe.
Unceasingly do pray;
18 Mida akpe le nuwo katã me, elabena esiae nye Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu na mi le Kristo Yesu me.
In everything do give thanks; this for [is the] will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
19 Migatsi Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la nu o.
The Spirit not do quench;
20 Migado vlo nyagblɔɖiwo o.
Prophecies not do despise;
21 Mido nu sia nu kpɔ, eye milé ɖe nu si nyo la ŋu.
All things (now *no*) do test; To the good do hold fast;
22 Mitsri vɔ̃ ɖe sia ɖe tɔgbi.
From every form of evil do abstain.
23 Azɔ la, Mawu ŋutɔ, ame si nye ŋutifafa ƒe Mawu la nakɔ mia ŋuti keŋkeŋ, eye wòadzra miaƒe gbɔgbɔ, luʋɔ kple ŋutilã blibo la ɖo mokakamanɔŋui le míaƒe Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo ƒe vavagbe la.
Himself now the God of peace would sanctify you completely, and entirely your spirit and soul and body blameless at the coming of the Lord of us Jesus Christ would be preserved.
24 Nuteƒewɔlae nye ame si yɔ mi, eya ta awɔe ade goe.
