< Samuel 1 7 >
1 Ale Kiriat Yearimtɔwo va tsɔ Yehowa ƒe nubablaɖaka la yi ɖada ɖe Abinadab ƒe aƒe si le to dzi la me. Wokɔ via, Eleazar, ŋuti be wòakpɔ Yehowa ƒe nubablaɖaka la dzi.
The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took the LORD’s ark, and brought it into Abinadab’s house on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the LORD’s ark.
2 Nubablaɖaka la nɔ Kiriat Yearim ƒe blaeve. Israelviwo xa nu to ƒe siawo me elabena edze na wo abe ɖe Yehowa gblẽ wo ɖi ene.
From the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, the time was long—for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
3 Samuel gblɔ na Israel ƒe aƒe blibo la be, “Ne mieɖo ta me kplikpaa be yewoatrɔ ayi Yehowa gbɔ la, ekema miɖe asi le miaƒe dzromawuwo kple Astarɔtwo ŋu. Miɖo ta me kplikpaa azɔ be miaɖo to Yehowa ɖeɖe ko ekema aɖe mi tso Filistitɔwo si me.”
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from amongst you, and direct your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”
4 Ale woɖe asi le Baal kple Astarɔtwo ŋuti eye wosubɔ Yehowa ɖeɖe ko.
Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 Samuel gblɔ na wo be, “Mi katã miva Mizpa eye mado gbe ɖa na Yehowa ɖe mia ta.”
Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you.”
6 Wova kpe ta ɖe Mizpa, woku tsi tso vudo aɖe me kɔ ɖe anyigba le Yehowa ŋkume eye wotsi nu dɔ ŋkeke blibo ɖeka abe nuxaxa ɖe woƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta ene. Ale Samuel zu Israel ƒe ʋɔnudrɔ̃la le Mizpa.
They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the LORD.” Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Esi Filistitɔwo ƒe amegãwo se nya tso takpekpe gã si wowɔ le Mizpa ŋu la, woƒo woƒe aʋawɔlawo nu ƒu eye wolũ ɖe Israelviwo dzi. Vɔvɔ̃ ɖo Israelviwo ŋutɔ esi wose be Filistitɔwo gogo yewo.
When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 Wogblɔ na Samuel be, “Mègadzudzɔ kokoƒoƒo na Yehowa, míaƒe Mawu la ɖe mía ta o, ale be wòaɖe mí tso Filistitɔwo ƒe asi me.”
The children of Israel said to Samuel, “Don’t stop crying to the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.”
Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD. Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him.
10 Esi Samuel nɔ numevɔ sam ko la, Filistitɔwo ƒo ɖe Israelviwo dzi bibibi hena aʋawɔwɔ. Ke Yehowa ɖe gbe kple dziɖegbe ƒe gbe ɖe Filistitɔwo dzi, ŋɔdzi lé wo eye wotɔtɔ. Israelviwo dze wo dzi, fiti wo.
As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines came near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.
11 Israel ŋutsuwo do go tso Mizpa heti Filistitɔwo yome kple du eye wonɔ wo wum le mɔ dzi va se ɖe Bet Kar ƒe anyigbe ke.
The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them until they came under Beth Kar.
12 Samuel tsɔ kpe aɖe da ɖe Mizpa kple Sen dome eye wòna ŋkɔe be, “Ebenezer” si gɔme nye “Amenuvekpe” elabena egblɔ be, “Afi siae Yehowa ve mía nu va se ɖo!”
Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “The LORD helped us until now.”
13 Ale wobɔbɔ Filistitɔwo ɖe anyi eye womegaho aʋa ɖe Israelviwo ŋu kpɔ o elabena Yehowa tsi tsitre ɖe wo ŋu le Samuel ƒe agbemeŋkeke mamlɛawo katã me.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped coming within the border of Israel. The LORD’s hand was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 Israelviwo gbugbɔ woƒe du siwo nɔ Ekron kple Gat dome eye wonɔ Filistitɔwo si me la xɔ. Israel ɖe nuto siwo ƒo xlã wo la hã tso Filistitɔwo ƒe asi me. Ale ŋutifafa nɔ Israel kple Amoritɔwo dome.
The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its border out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel yi eƒe dɔ dzi abe Israel ƒe ʋɔnudrɔ̃la ene le eƒe agbemeŋkekewo katã me.
Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 Etsana ƒe sia ƒe drɔ̃a ʋɔnu gbã le Betel, emegbe le Gilgal eye le eya yome la, le Mizpa. Ale wòdrɔ̃a ʋɔnu na Israel le teƒe siawo katã.
He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
17 Egatrɔna vaa Rama elabena afi mae nye eƒe nɔƒe eye wògadrɔ̃a ʋɔnu le afi sia hã. Eɖi vɔsamlekpui na Yehowa ɖe Rama.
His return was to Ramah, for his house was there, and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to the LORD there.
