< Petro 1 5 >
As a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings, and a partaker of the glory to be revealed, I appeal to the elders among you:
2 mianye Mawu ƒe alẽha si wòtsɔ de miaƒe dzikpɔkpɔ te la ƒe kplɔlawo, mikpɔ wo ta, eye menye abe dɔdeasi ko ene o, ke boŋ kple dzidzɔ kple lɔlɔ̃nu nyui, abe ale si Mawu di tso mia si be miawɔ ene. Menye kple ŋukeklẽ ɖe ga ŋuti o, ke boŋ kple subɔsubɔ ƒe didi nyui,
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is among you, watching over them not out of compulsion, but because it is God’s will; not out of greed, but out of eagerness;
3 be miagaɖu tɔ ɖe hame si dzikpɔlawo woɖo mi la dzi o, ke boŋ mianye kpɔɖeŋu na alẽha la.
not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
Mido ɖokuibɔbɔ abe awu ene na mia ɖokuiwo, ale be miate ŋu asubɔ mia nɔewo, elabena, “Mawu tsia tsitre ɖe dadalawo ŋu, ke evea ame siwo bɔbɔa wo ɖokuiwo la nu.”
Young men, in the same way, submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
6 Eya ta azɔ la, mibɔbɔ mia ɖokuiwo ɖe Mawu ƒe asi sesẽ la te, be ne ɣeyiɣi si wòɖo la de la, wòakɔ mi ɖe dzi.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you.
Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
8 Miɖu mia ɖokuiwo dzi, eye minɔ ŋudzɔ.
Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
10 Amenuveve katã ƒe Mawu la, ame si yɔ mi va eƒe ŋutikɔkɔe mavɔ la gbɔ le Kristo me, le fukpekpe sue aɖe ko megbe la, ŋutɔ aɖo mi te, ado ŋusẽ mi, ali ke mi, eye wòaɖo mia gɔme anyi. (aiōnios )
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you. (aiōnios )
11 Eya tɔ nanye ŋusẽ tso mavɔ me, yi mavɔ me. Amen. (aiōn )
To Him be the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )

Through Silvanus, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.
