< Petro 1 3 >
1 Nenema ke mi srɔ̃nyɔnuwo la, mibɔbɔ mia ɖokuiwo na mia srɔ̃wo ale be ne wo dometɔ aɖewo mexɔ nya la dzi se o la, to wo srɔ̃nyɔnuwo ƒe agbe ɖɔʋu nɔnɔ me la, woakpɔ ɖeɖe, nya aɖeke magblɔmagblɔ na woe,
Similarly, wives, be submissive to your own husbands, so that even if some are disobedient to the Word, they may be won over, without a word, by the conduct of their wives
2 ne wokpɔ dzadzɛnyenye kple bubu si le woƒe agbe me.
(having watched your pure behavior accompanied by respect),
3 Miaƒe tugbedzedze megatso gota gome lekewɔwɔ me, abe ɖa ŋɔŋɔe ƒoƒo, sikanuwo dodo kple avɔ xɔasiwo tata me ene o,
whose adorning should not be the outward one of braiding hair and wearing gold, or putting on fine clothing,
4 ke boŋ miaƒe tugbedzedze nanye ememetɔ, tugbedzedze malũxɛ si nye tufafa kple bɔbɔenyenye ƒe gbɔgbɔ si xɔ asi le Mawu ƒe ŋkume ŋutɔ.
but rather the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible adorning of the gentle and quiet spirit that is of great value before God.
5 Elabena aleae nyɔnu kɔkɔe, siwo nɔ anyi le blema, esiwo tsɔ woƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ da ɖe Mawu dzi la wɔa leke na wo ɖokuiwoe. Wobɔbɔ wo ɖokuiwo na wo srɔ̃wo
For this is how the holy women who hoped in God in former times also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands,
6 abe ale si Sara bɔbɔ eɖokui na Abraham, eye wòyɔe be aƒetɔ la ene. Mienye via nyɔnuwo ne miewɔ nu dzɔdzɔe, eye mieɖe mɔ na vɔvɔ̃ o.
as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him ‘lord’, whose (f) daughters you became by doing good and not being afraid of any intimidation.
7 Nenema ke, mi srɔ̃ŋutsuwo hã minɔ anyi kple mia srɔ̃wo le nunya me, mide bubu wo ŋu, elabena wonye gbɔdzɔgbɔdzɔtɔwo, eye wonye domenyilawo kpli mi le amenuveve nunana si nye agbe si wona mi, ale be naneke maxe mɔ na miaƒe gbedodoɖawo o.
Similarly, husbands, live together knowledgeably as with a weaker vessel, according honor to the wife especially as being a joint heir of the grace of life, for your prayers not to be hindered.
8 Mlɔeba la, mi katã minɔ anyi kple mia nɔewo le ɖekawɔwɔ me, ame ƒe nu newɔ nublanui na mi, milɔ̃ mia nɔewo abe dadaviwo ene, minyo dɔ me na amewo, eye mibɔbɔ mia ɖokui.
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
9 Migatsɔ vɔ̃ ɖo vɔ̃ teƒe alo dzu ɖo dzu teƒe o, ke boŋ miɖo teƒe na wo kple yayra, elabena esia ta woyɔ mi vɛ ɖo be mianyi yayra ƒe dome.
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this so that you may inherit a blessing.
10 Elabena, “Ame si lɔ̃ agbe, eye wòdi be yeakpɔ ŋkekenyuiwo la, nelé eƒe aɖe be magblɔ nya vɔ̃ aɖeke o, kple eƒe nu, be magblɔ beblenya aɖeke o.
For: “The one who wants to love life and to see good days must refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;
11 Ele nɛ be wòaɖe asi le vɔ̃ ŋu, awɔ nyui, eye wòadi ŋutifafa, ati eyome.
he must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace, even pursue it.
12 Elabena Aƒetɔ la ƒe ŋkuwo le ame dzɔdzɔewo ŋu, eye eƒe towo le te ɖe woƒe gbedodoɖa ŋu, ke Aƒetɔ la tsia tsitre ɖe ame siwo wɔa nu vɔ̃ la ŋuti.”
Because the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those doing evil.”
13 Ame kae awɔ nu vevi mi, ne mietsi dzi ɖe nu nyui wɔwɔ ŋu?
Now who is he who will harm you if you become imitators of the good?
14 Ke ne miekpe fu le nu nyui wɔwɔ me gɔ̃ hã la, woayra mi. “Migavɔ̃ nu si vɔ̃m wole o; dzidzi hã megaƒo mi o.”
But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
15 Ke le miaƒe dziwo me la, mina nɔƒe tɔxɛ Kristo abe Aƒetɔ kɔkɔe ene. Minɔ klalo ɣe sia ɣi be miaɖo nya ŋu na ame sia ame si abia mi be miagblɔ nu si ta mɔkpɔkpɔ sia le mia si ɖo.
Rather, sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready with an answer for everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with meekness and respect;
16 Ke miaƒe dzitsinya me nakɔ keŋkeŋ, ale be ame siwo ƒoa nu vlo le mia ŋuti le agbe nyui si nɔm miele le Kristo me ta la naɖu ŋukpe le woƒe ameŋugblẽnyawo ta.
keeping a good conscience, so that wherein they speak against you as evildoers, those who revile your good way of life in Christ may be put to shame.
17 Ne enye Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu la, enyo be woakpe fu le nu nyui wɔwɔ ta wu ɖe nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ ta,
For it is better to suffer for doing good, should the will of God so determine, than for doing evil.
18 elabena Kristo ku ɖe míaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta zi ɖeka hena ɣeyiɣiwo katã. Mewɔ nu vɔ̃ aɖeke kpɔ o, gake eku ɖe nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo ta be wòakplɔ mi va Mawu gbɔe dedie. Wowui le ŋutilã me, ke wogbɔ agbee le Gbɔgbɔ me,
Because Christ also suffered on account of sins, once for all, the righteous on behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God; having been put to death, to be sure, in flesh, but having been made alive in spirit;
19 Eto edzi yi ɖagblɔ mawunya na gbɔgbɔ siwo le gaxɔ me,
in which He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison
20 ame siwo sẽ to le blema, le esime Mawu lala le dzigbɔɖi blibo me, le Noa ƒe ɣeyiɣiwo me, esi wònɔ aɖakaʋu la kpam. Ame ʋɛ aɖewo, ame siwo ƒe xexlẽme nye enyi ko woɖe le tsiɖɔɖɔ la me.
who formerly were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, while the Ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is eight, souls were brought safely through water.
Mawu sia ɖe mi to Yesu Kristo ƒe tsitretsitsi me,
This is an antitype of baptism, that now saves us also (not the removal of physical filth, but the appeal into God from a good conscience) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 ame si yi ɖe dziƒo, ɖanɔ Mawu ƒe nuɖusime, eye mawudɔlawo, dziɖulawo kple ŋusẽwo bɔbɔ wo ɖokui nɛ.
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.
