1 Esi Tiro fia, Hiram se be wosi ami na Solomo heɖoe fiae ɖe fofoa, David teƒe la, eɖo eƒe ame dɔdɔwo ɖe Solomo elabena eya kple David wonye xɔlɔ̃ veviwo.
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
2 Solomo hã ɖo du sia ɖe Hiram:
Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 “Ènya be le aʋa siwo futɔwo tso afi sia afi wɔ kple fofonye, David ta la, fofonye mete ŋu tu gbedoxɔ na Yehowa, eƒe Mawu ƒe ŋkɔ o, va se ɖe esime Yehowa tsɔ eƒe futɔwo de eƒe afɔ te.”
“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
4 Fia Solomo yi edzi be, “Ke azɔ la, Yehowa, nye Mawu na ŋutifafa Israel le goawo katã me, dukɔ bubuwo meganye futɔwo nam o,
But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
5 eya ta mele ɖoɖo wɔm be matu gbedoxɔ na Yehowa, nye Mawu, abe ale si wòɖo na fofonye be nyee atui na ye ene. Yehowa gblɔ na fofonye be, ‘Viwò si matsɔ aɖo wò fiazikpui dzi lae atu gbedoxɔ nam.’
Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
6 “Meɖe kuku na wò be nàkpe ɖe ŋunye le dɔ sia wɔwɔ me. Ɖo wò atitsolawo ɖe Lebanon towo dzi be woatso sedatiwo nam. Maɖo nye amewo ɖa woawɔ dɔ kple tɔwòwo. Maxe fe ɖe sia ɖe si nàbia la na wò amewo. Wò ŋutɔ ènya be ame aɖeke mele Israel si ate ŋu adze ati abe Sidontɔwo ene o!”
Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody amongst us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
7 Hiram kpɔ dzidzɔ le Solomo ƒe nya siawo ŋu. Egblɔ be, “Woakafu Yehowa be wòna vi nyanu aɖe David be wòaɖu fia ɖe Israel dukɔ gã la dzi.”
When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is the LORD today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
8 Egblɔ ɖo ɖe Solomo be, “Mese wò nyawo eye mawɔ nu si nèbia. Mate ŋu ana sedati kple sesewuti siaa wò hena xɔa tutu.
Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
9 Nye amewo atsɔ atiawo tso Lebanon towo dzi ava da ɖe domeƒu la nu. Woakpe wo ale be míada wo ɖe atsiaƒua dzi, woato ƒugo la ŋu ayi afi si nàhiã wo le. Ekema míakaka wo atsɔ wo na wò ɖekaɖekae. Fetu si nàxe lae nye be nàdi nuɖuɖu na nye amewo.”
My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
10 Ale Hiram tsɔ sedati kple sesewuti ƒe agbɔsɔsɔ si Solomo ahiã la nɛ
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
11 eye abe fetu ene la, Solomo ɖoa lu dzidzenu akpe alafa ɖeka blaeve vɔ atɔ̃ kple ami galɔn blasiekɛ-vɔ-ade ɖe Hiram ƒe sia ƒe.
Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12 Ale Yehowa na nunya Solomo abe ale si wòdo ŋugbe nɛ ene. Hiram kple Solomo bla nu kple wo nɔewo hena ŋutifafa.
The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
13 Solomo ƒo dɔwɔla akpe blaetɔ̃ nu ƒu tso Israelnyigba blibo la dzi.
King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 Eɖoa ame akpe ewo ɖe Lebanon wonɔa afi ma ɣleti ɖeka ale ame sia ame nɔa Lebanon ɣleti ɖeka eye wònɔa aƒe ɣleti eve. Dɔwɔlawo dzikpɔlae nye Adoniram.
He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labour.
15 Dɔwɔla bubu akpe blaadre kple kpekpala akpe blaenyi hã nɔ Solomo si le tonyigba la dzi,
Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,
16 hekpe ɖe dɔdzikpɔla akpe etɔ̃ alafa etɔ̃ ŋu.
besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand and three hundred who ruled over the people who laboured in the work.
17 Kpekpalawo ku kpe gãwo le kpekuƒewo eye wokpa wo wozu gbedoxɔ la ƒe gɔmeɖokpewo.
The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18 Wogblẽ ga geɖe le dɔ sia wɔwɔ me. Amewo tso Gebal va kpe ɖe Solomo kple Hiram ƒe xɔtulawo ŋu le atidzedze kple kpekpakpa na gbedoxɔ la me.
Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
