< Yohanes 1 3 >
1 Mikpɔ ale si gbegbe Fofo la lɔ̃a mí ɖa be woayɔ mí be Mawu viwo. Nyateƒe, Mawu viwoe míenye. Nu si ta xexemetɔwo menya mí o lae nye be womenya eya amea o.
See how great a sincere love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God! Because the world didn’t know Him, it doesn’t know us.
2 Xɔ̃nye lɔlɔ̃wo, fifia míenye Mawu viwo, ke míenya nu si míava nye le etsɔ megbe la haɖe o. Gake míenya be ne Kristo va la, míanɔ abe eya amea ene, elabena míakpɔe abe ale si wòle tututu ene.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it hasn’t yet appeared what we will be. We know that when He appears we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3 Ame siwo katã le mɔkpɔkpɔ me alea la wɔa wo ɖokuiwo dzadzɛe abe ale si eya hã le dzadzɛe ene.
Everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
4 Ame sia ame si wɔa nu vɔ̃ la da sea dzi. Le nyateƒe me la, nu vɔ̃ nye sedzimawɔmawɔ.
Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
5 Ke ele nyanya me na mi be ɖe wòva be yeatsɔ míaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ayii. Nu vɔ̃ aɖeke mele eya ŋutɔ ƒe agbe me o.
You know that He appeared to take away sins. There is no sin in Him.
6 Ne ame aɖe le agbe le eya amea me la, amea meganɔa nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ dzi atraɖii o. Ne ame aɖe ganɔa nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ dzi edziedzi la, ekema ame sia mekpɔe o loo, alo nyae o.
No one who lives in Him sins. No one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
7 Vinye lɔlɔ̃awo, migana ame aɖeke nable mi ne miatra mɔ o. Ame si wɔa nu nyui la, enye ame dzɔdzɔe abe ale si eya hã le dzɔdzɔe ene.
Little children, don’t let anybody deceive you. The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 Ame si wɔa nu vɔ̃ la, enye Abosam ƒe ame, elabena Abosam le nu vɔ̃ wɔm tso gɔmedzedzea me ke. Nu si ta Mawu ƒe Vi la va ɖo lae nye be wòagblẽ Abosam ƒe nuwɔwɔwo.
The one who practices sin is the Devil’s, because the Devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the Devil.
9 Ame si wodzi le Mawu me la meganɔa nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ dzi o, elabena Mawu ƒe kutsetse le eme. Mate ŋu awɔ nu vɔ̃ o, elabena wodzii tso Mawu me.
No one who is born of God practices sin, because God’s seed lives in him. He can’t continue to sin, because he is born of God.
10 To esia me míedea vovototo Mawu viwo kple Abosam ƒe viwo dome. Ame si mewɔa nu si le eteƒe o la menye Mawu vi o. Nenema ke ame si melɔ̃a nɔvia o la menye Mawu vi o.
By this the children of God and the children of the Devil are obvious: anyone who doesn’t practice righteousness is not God’s, and neither is anyone who doesn’t sincerely love his brother or sister.
11 Esiae nye gbedeasi si miese tso gɔmedzedzea, be ele be míalɔ̃ mía nɔewo.
For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should sincerely love one another.
12 Miganɔ abe Kain ene o. Le esi wònye Abosam ƒe ame ta la, ewu nɔvia. Nu ka ta wòwu nɔvia? Elabena, eƒe wɔnawo vɔ̃ɖi, ke nɔvia ƒe wɔnawo le dzɔdzɔe.
Don’t be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because Cain’s deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.
13 Nɔvinyewo, ne xexea me lé fu mi la, megawɔ nuku na mi kura o.
Don’t be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
14 Míenya be míeto ku me yi agbe me, elabena míelɔ̃a mía nɔewo. Ame si melɔ̃a ame o la, gale ku ƒe asi me.
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we sincerely love our brothers and sisters. Whoever doesn’t sincerely love lives in death.
15 Ame si ke léa fu nɔvia la nye amewula, eye ele nyanya me na mi be agbe mavɔ meli na amewula aɖeke o. (aiōnios )
Whoever hates his brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life living in him. (aiōnios )
16 Ale si Yesu Kristo va ku ɖe mía ta la ɖe nu si lɔlɔ̃ nye la fia mí. Eya ta ele be míawo hã míatsɔ míaƒe agbe aɖo anyi na mía nɔviwo.
By this we know God’s sincere love, because He laid down His life for us. So we also ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
17 Ne xexemenuwo le ame aɖe si fũu, eye wòkpɔ nɔvia aɖe si nye hiãtɔ, eye mekpɔ nublanui nɛ o la, aleke woate ŋu akpɔ Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃ le eme?
If someone has this world’s goods, and sees a brother in need, and closes up his heart of compassion from him, how does God’s sincere love live in him?
18 Vinye lɔlɔ̃awo, migana míalɔ̃ mía nɔewo kple nya, alo kple aɖe ɖeɖe ko o, ke boŋ le nuwɔnawo kple nyateƒe me.
My little children, let’s not sincerely love just in words or in language, but in deed and in truth.
19 Ekema esia nye ale si míenyana be míenye nyateƒe la tɔ kple ale si míeɖea dzi ɖi le eŋkume
This is how we will know that we belong to the truth, and how we will assure our hearts before Him
20 ɣe sia ɣi si míaƒe dzitsinya bu fɔ mí, elabena Mawu lolo wu míaƒe dziwo, eye wònya nu sia nu.
whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.
21 Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo, ne míaƒe dziwo mebu fɔ mí o la, dzideƒo le mía si le Mawu ŋkume,
Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have confidence before God;
22 eye nu sia nu si míabiae la, míaxɔe, elabena míewɔ eƒe sewo dzi, eye míewɔ nu si dzea eŋu.
and we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do the things that please Him.
23 Eƒe sedede nye esia be míaxɔ via Yesu Kristo ƒe ŋkɔ dzi ase, eye míalɔ̃ mía nɔewo abe ale si wòde se na mí ene.
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and that we sincerely love one another, just as He commanded us.
24 Ame siwo wɔna ɖe eƒe sewo dzi la nɔa agbe le eme, eye eya hã nɔa wo me. Eye aleae míenyana be ele agbe le mía me: Míenyae to Gbɔgbɔ si wòna mí la dzi.
Whoever keeps His commandments lives in Him, and He lives in that person. This is how we know that He lives in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
