< Korintotɔwo 1 1 >

1 Nye, Paulo, Yesu Kristo ƒe apostolo, si woyɔ to Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu me la kple nɔvi, xɔsetɔ Sostene gbɔe agbalẽ sia tso,
Paul, called as an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God; and Sosthenes, a brother:
2 Na Mawu ƒe hame si le Korinto, ame siwo ŋu wokɔ le Kristo Yesu me, eye woyɔ wo be woanɔ kɔkɔe la kple ame siwo katã le xexea me godoo siwo xɔ míaƒe Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo ƒe ŋkɔa dzi se abe woƒe Aƒetɔ ene.
to the Church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints with all who are invoking the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place of theirs and of ours.
3 Amenuveve kple ŋutifafa si tso Mawu mía Fofo kple Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo gbɔ la nanɔ kpli mi.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks to my God continuously for you because of the grace of God that has been given to you in Christ Jesus.
5 Ena be míegbã go le nu sia nu me le nuƒoƒo kple nunya siaa me,
By that grace, in all things, you have become wealthy in him, in every word and in all knowledge.
6 eye wòna woɖo kpe Kristo ƒe ɖaseɖiɖi dzi le mía me.
And so, the testimony of Christ has been strengthened in you.
In this way, nothing is lacking to you in any grace, as you await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
And he, too, will strengthen you, even until the end, without guilt, until the day of the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is faithful. Through him, you have been called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Nɔviwo, mele kuku ɖem na mi le míaƒe Aƒetɔ Yesu Kristo ƒe ŋkɔ me be miadzudzɔ nyahehe vivivo le mia nɔewo dome. Mina nusɔsɔ blibo nanɔ mia me ale be mama kukluiwo nagava mia dome o. Meɖe kuku na mi be miawɔ ɖeka le susu kple ɖoɖowo wɔwɔ me.
And so, I beg you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that every one of you speak in the same way, and that there be no schisms among you. So may you become perfect, with the same mind and with the same judgment.
11 Nɔvinye lɔlɔ̃awo, mia nɔvi siwo le Kloe ƒe aƒe me la dometɔ aɖewo fi tofi nam be nyahehe kple dzre sɔŋ ko dzi miele.
For it has been indicated to me, about you, my brothers, by those who are with Chloes, that there are contentions among you.
12 Mia dometɔ aɖewo le gbɔgblɔm be, “Nye la, Paulo tɔ menye”; bubu be, “Apoloe nye nye amegã”; ame aɖewo hã be, “Kefa ƒe ame menye”; Gawu la, ame aɖewo hã be, “Nye koe nye Kristo yomedzela vavã.”
Now I say this because each of you is saying: “Certainly, I am of Paul;” “But I am of Apollo;” “Truly, I am of Cephas;” as well as: “I am of Christ.”
Ke medi be mabia mi se be nye Paulo ye ku ɖe miaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta hã? Alo wode mawutsi ta na mia dometɔ aɖe le nye ŋkɔ dzia?
Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 Edzɔ dzi nam ŋutɔ eye meda akpe na Mawu vevie be Krispo kple Gayo ɖeɖe koe nye ame siwo nye ŋutɔ mede mawutsi ta na le mia dome.
I give thanks to God that I have baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
15 Eya ta mia dometɔ aɖeke mate ŋu agblɔ be wode mawutsi ta na ye le nye ŋkɔ me o.
lest anyone say that you have been baptized in my name.
16 (Ɛ̃, meɖo ŋku edzi be mede mawutsi ta na Stefano kple eƒe aƒemetɔwo hã.
And I also baptized the household of Stephanus. Other than these, I do not recall if I baptized any others.
17 Yesu Kristo meɖom ɖa be mava de mawutsi ta na amewo o, ke boŋ be magblɔ nyanyui la. Ke hã la, nye nyagbɔgblɔ la meɖea kpe tututu o elabena ne mele mawunya gblɔm la, nyemeɖea ami ɖe nye nyawo o elabena nyemedi be matɔtɔ ŋusẽ blibo si le Yesu ƒe atitsogaŋunya la me kple amegbetɔwo ƒe nunya o.
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to evangelize: not through the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ become empty.
18 Menya nyuie be, ne ame siwo le mɔ tram eye wole bubum la se be Yesu ku be yeaɖe wo la, aɖi bometsinya na wo. Ke nya sia nye Mawu ƒe ŋusẽ na mí ame siwo le ɖeɖe kpɔm
For the Word of the Cross is certainly foolishness to those who are perishing. But to those who have been saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.
19 elabena Mawu ŋutɔ gblɔ be, “Magblẽ nunyalawo ƒe nunya me; eye maɖe gɔmeselawo ƒe nugɔmesese ɖa.”
For it has been written: “I will perish the wisdom of the wise, and I will reject the discernment of the prudent.”
20 Ekema afi ka nunyalawo le? Afi kae agbalẽnyalawo le? Afi kae xexe sia me ƒe anukutsyɔlawo le? Ɖe Mawu mewɔ xexe sia me nunya wòzu bometsitsi oa? (aiōn g165)
Where are the wise? Where are the scribes? Where are the truth-seekers of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this world into foolishness? (aiōn g165)
21 Esi xexea me metsɔ eya ŋutɔ ƒe nunya dze si Mawu le Mawu ƒe nunya me o ŋuti la, edze Mawu ŋu be yeato gbeƒãɖeɖe bometsinya me axɔ ame siwo axɔ ase la.
For the world did not know God through wisdom, and so, in the wisdom of God, it pleased God to accomplish the salvation of believers, through the foolishness of our preaching.
22 Yudatɔwo dia nukunu kple dzesiwo eye Grikitɔwo dia xexemenunya,
For the Jews ask for signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom.
23 ke míawo ya míeɖea gbeƒã Kristo, ame si woklã ɖe ati ŋuti, nu si nye nukikli na Yudatɔwo kple bometsinya na ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o,
But we are preaching Christ crucified. Certainly, to the Jews, this is a scandal, and to the Gentiles, this is foolishness.
24 ke hena ame siwo Mawu yɔ la, Yudatɔwo kple Grikitɔwo siaa la, Kristoe nye Mawu ƒe ŋusẽ kple nunya.
But to those who have been called, Jews as well as Greeks, the Christ is the virtue of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Elabena Mawu ƒe bometsinya xɔ asi wu amewo ƒe nunya eye Mawu ƒe gbɔdzɔgbɔdzɔ sesẽ wu amewo ƒe ŋusẽ.
For what is foolishness to God is considered wise by men, and that which is weakness to God is considered strong by men.
So take care of your vocation, brothers. For not many are wise according to the flesh, not many are powerful, not many are noble.
27 Ke Mawu tia xexemebometsinuwo be wòatsɔ ado ŋukpe nunyalawoe. Mawu tia xexemegbɔdzɔgbɔdzɔnuwo be woado ŋukpe nu sesẽwo.
But God has chosen the foolish of the world, so that he may confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak of the world, so that he may confound the strong.
28 Mawu tia xexemenu maɖinuwo, nu siwo wodo ŋunyɔe kple nu siwo mele ɖeke me o, be wòatsɔ aɖi gbɔ nu si nye nanee,
And God has chosen the ignoble and contemptible of the world, those who are nothing, so that he may reduce to nothing those who are something.
29 ale be ame aɖeke mate ŋu aƒo adegbe le eŋu le Mawu ƒe ŋkume o.
So then, nothing that is of the flesh should glory in his sight.
But you are of him in Christ Jesus, who was made by God to be our wisdom and justice and sanctification and redemption.
31 Eya ta abe ale si woŋlɔe ɖi ene be, “Ne ame aɖe aƒo adegbe la, nèƒoe le nu si Aƒetɔ la wɔ la ko ŋu.”
And so, in the same way, it was written: “Whoever glories, should glory in the Lord.”
