< Korintotɔwo 1 14 >
1 Mina lɔlɔ̃ nanye miaƒe taɖodzinu gãtɔ, ke mibia nunana tɔxɛ siwo Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la nana hã, vevietɔ nyagbɔgblɔɖi ƒe nunana hena Mawu ƒe nyawo gbɔgblɔ.
Follow after love; and be emulous of the gifts of the Spirit, and especially, that ye may prophesy.
2 Ke ne wò nunanae nye be nàte ŋu agblɔ “gbe bubuwo” si gɔmee nye nàƒo nu le gbe siwo mèsrɔ̃ kpɔ o me la, ànɔ nu ƒom na Mawu ko, ke menye na amewo o, esi amewo mate ŋu ase wò nyawo gɔme o ta. Àƒo nu kple Gbɔgbɔ la ƒe ŋusẽ, ke wò nuƒoƒo la katã anye nya ɣaɣla.
For he that speaketh in a tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no one understandeth what is said; yet in the spirit, he speaketh a mystery.
3 Ke ame si gblɔa nya ɖi, eye wògblɔa Mawu ƒe nya la le kpekpeɖeŋu nam ame bubuwo be woatsi le Aƒetɔ la me, eye wòle ŋusẽ dom wo, hele akɔ fam na wo.
But he that prophesieth, speaketh unto men, for edification, and exhortation, and consolation.
4 Ale ame si “gblɔa gbe bubuwo” la kpena ɖe eɖokui ŋu, eye wòtsina le gbɔgbɔ me, ke ame si gblɔa nya ɖi, eye wògblɔa nya siwo tsoa Mawu gbɔ la kpena ɖe hame blibo la ŋu be wòatsi le kɔkɔenyenye kple dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ me.
He that speaketh in a tongue, edifieth himself: and he that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
5 Madi be “gbe bubuwo gbɔgblɔ” ƒe nunana nanɔ mia dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe si, ke nu si wu esiae nye be mi katã miate ŋu agblɔ nya ɖi, agblɔ Mawu ƒe nya, elabena esia nye ŋusẽ gã kple ŋusẽ si ŋu viɖe le wu be woagblɔ gbe manyamanyawo, negbe ne miate ŋu aɖe nya siwo miegblɔ la gɔme na amewo emegbe, ale be hame la nakpɔ ŋgɔdede.
Now I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh in a tongue, unless he interpret; and if he interpret, he edifieth the church.
And now, my brethren, if I should come among you, and speak to you in tongues, what should I profit you; unless I should speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecy, or by doctrine?
For even inanimate things that emit sound, whether pipe or harp, if they make no distinction between one sound and another, how will it be known, what is sung or what is harped?
8 Ne aʋakpẽkula meku gbeɖiɖiawo pɛpɛpɛ o la, aleke asrafoawo awɔ hafi anya be wole yewo yɔm na aʋakpekpe?
And if the trumpet shall give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?
9 Nenema ke, ne ègblɔ nya na ame aɖe le gbe si menya o me la, aleke wòawɔ hafi anya nya si gblɔm nèle? Asɔ kple nànɔ nu ƒom le xɔ si me ame aɖeke mele o la me.
So likewise if ye utter a discourse in a tongue, and there is no interpretation given, how will it be known what ye have said? Ye will have been as if ye spoke into the air.
10 Mebu be gbe vovovo geɖewo le xexea me, eye wo katã nye gbe xɔasiwo na wo gblɔlawo,
For lo, there are many kinds of tongues in the world; and there is not one of them without meaning.
11 ke womenye naneke na nye ya o. Ame si aƒo nu nam le gbe siawo dometɔ ɖeka me la anye amedzro nam, eye nye hã manye amedzro nɛ.
But if I do not know the import of the sound, I shall be a barbarian to him that speaketh, and the speaker will be a barbarian to me.
So also ye, since ye are emulous of the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the church, seek ye to excel.
13 Ne wona nunana ame aɖe be wòate ŋu agblɔ nya le gbe manyamanyawo me la, ele be wòado gbe ɖa be woana nunana ye be yeanya nu si yegblɔ, ale be yeate ŋu aɖe egɔme na amewo emegbe.
And let him that speaketh in a tongue, pray that he may interpret.
For if I should pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is without fruits.
15 Ekema nu ka mawɔ? Mawɔ nu eve siawo. Mado gbe ɖa kple gbɔgbɔ eye magado gbe ɖa le kple tamesusu, ale be ame sia ame nase egɔme. Madzi ha le gbe manyamanyawo me eye magadzii le gbe nyanyɛ la hã me, ale be mase kafukafuha si dzim mele la gɔme,
What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, and will pray with my understanding; and I will sing with my spirit, and will sing with my understanding.
16 elabena ne èkafu Mawu, eye nèda akpe nɛ le gbɔgbɔ me ko kple nuƒoƒo le gbe bubu me la, ame siwo mese nu si wɔm nèle gɔme o la ate ŋu agblɔ “Amen” kpli wòa? Aleke woate ŋu akpe ɖe ŋuwò miada akpe na Mawu ne womese nu si gblɔm nèle la gɔme o?
Otherwise, if thou blessest in the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of one unlearned, say Amen, on thy giving thanks; for he knoweth not what thou sayest?
17 Àte ŋu anɔ akpe dam vevie, gake manye kpekpeɖeŋu aɖeke na ame bubuawo o.
Thou blessest, indeed, very well; but thy neighbor is not edified.
I thank God, that I speak with tongues more than all of you.
19 Ke ne míele Mawu subɔm le hame la, anyo be magblɔ nya atɔ̃ siwo gɔme amewo ase, eye wòanye kpekpeɖeŋu na wo wu magblɔ nya akpe ewo “ɖe gbe manyamanyawo me.”
But in the church, I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others, than a myriad of words in a tongue.
20 Nɔvi lɔlɔ̃awo; migazu abe ɖeviwo ene le nu siawo gɔmesese me o. Mizu abe ɖevi maɖifɔwo ene le ɖoɖowɔwɔ ɖe nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ ŋu me, ke mizu ame nugɔmeselawo le nya siawo tɔgbi gɔmesese me.
My brethren, be ye not children in your thoughts; but to evil things be ye infants; and in your thoughts be men.
21 Wogblɔe na mí le Nubabla Xoxoa me be, “Matsɔ ame bubuwo ƒe aɖewo kple ame bubuwo ƒe nuyiwo aƒo nu kple dukɔ sia, ke le ɣe ma ɣiwo me gɔ̃ hã la, womaɖo tom o, Aƒetɔ la gblɔe.”
In the law it is written, With a foreign speech, and in another tongue, will I speak with this people; and even so also they will not hearken to me, saith the Lord.
22 Ale miakpɔe be nuƒoƒo le gbe bubuwo me, nye dzesi, menye Mawu ƒe ŋusẽ ɖeɖefia Mawu ƒe amewo o, ke boŋ enye ɖeɖefia na ame siwo mekpɔ ɖeɖe o. Nu si kristotɔwo hiã lae nye nyagbɔgblɔɖi si nye gbeƒãɖeɖe Mawu ƒe nyateƒenya detoawo; ke dzimaxɔsetɔwo mele klalo nɛ o.
Wherefore, tongues are established for a sign, not to the believers, but to them that believe not. But prophesyings are not for those who believe not, but for them that believe.
If therefore the whole church assemble, and they all speak with tongues, and there come in unlearned persons, or such as believe not, will they not say: These people are crazy?
But if ye should be all prophesying, and one unlearned or an unbeliever should come among you, he is explored by you all, and rebuked by you all;
25 Esime wòle to ɖom la, ahe eƒe susu ɣaɣlawo ɖe go, adze klo asubɔ Mawu eye wòaɖe gbeƒã be vavã Mawu le mia dome le afi ma.
and the secrets of his heart are laid open to him: and so he will fall upon his face, and will worship God, and say: Verily, God is in you.
26 Azɔ la nɔviwo, nu kae míagagblɔ? Ne miekpe ta la, ame aɖewo adzi ha, ame bubu aɖe afia nu alo agblɔ gbedeasi tɔxɛ aɖe si Mawu nae alo agblɔ nya le gbe manyamanya aɖe me alo aɖe nya si ame bubu aɖe le gbɔgblɔm le gbe manyamanya aɖe me la gɔme. Ke ele be nu sia nu si woawɔ la nanye viɖe na ame sia ame, eye wòatu wo ɖo ɖe Aƒetɔ la me.
I therefore say to you my brethren, that when ye assemble, whoever of you hath a psalm, let him speak; and whoever hath a doctrine, and whoever hath a revelation, and whoever hath a tongue, and whoever hath an interpretation. Let them all be for edification.
Woaƒo nu ɖekaɖeka, eye ele be ame aɖe nanɔ klalo aɖe nu si gblɔm wole la gɔme.
And if any speak in a tongue, let two speak or at most, three; and let them speak one by one; and let some one interpret.
28 Ke ne ame aɖeke meli aɖe nyaawo gɔme o la, ekema mele be woaƒo nu le ha la me o, ke boŋ woaƒo nu na wo ɖokuiwo kple Mawu ko le gbe manyamanya la me, ke menye woaƒo nu sesĩe na ameha la o.
And if there is none to interpret, let him that speaketh in a tongue, be silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God.
And as to prophets, let two or three speak, and let the rest judge.
30 Ke nenye be ɖeɖefia aɖe va na ame siwo nɔ anyi dometɔ aɖe la, ekema ame gbãtɔ nazi ɖoɖoe, ana mɔ nɔvia.
And if to another sitting by, there should be a revelation, let the first stop speaking.
31 Ale ame siwo katã si nyagbɔgblɔɖi ƒe nunana le la ate ŋu aƒo nu ɖekaɖeka, eye ame sia ame nasrɔ̃ nu, eye nu si wòsrɔ̃ la nade dzi ƒo nɛ, eye wòakpe ɖe eŋu.
For ye can all prophesy, one by one; so that every one may learn, and every one be comforted.
32 Miɖo ŋku edzi be ame si xɔ gbedeasi aɖe tso Mawu gbɔ la ate ŋu azi eɖokui dzi alo alala va se ɖe esime wòaɖo edzi be wòaƒo nu.
For the spirit of the prophets is subject to the prophets.
33 Mawu menye ame si lɔ̃na be woawɔ nuwo basabasa o; elɔ̃a nuwo wɔwɔ ɖe ɖoɖo nyuitɔ nu abe ale si wòle le hame bubuwo katã me ene.
Because, God is not the author of tumult, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Ele be nyɔnuwo nazi ɖoɖoe le hamea ƒe takpekpewo me.
Let your women be silent in the church: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be in subjection, as also the law saith.
35 Ne nya aɖe le wo si woabia la, woabia wo srɔ̃wo le aƒe me, elabena mesɔ be nyɔnuwo naɖe woƒe susuwo afia le hamea ƒe takpekpewo me o.
And if they wish to be informed on any subject, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is unbecoming for women to speak in the church.
36 Mia gbɔe Mawu ƒe nya dze egɔme tsoa? Alo miawo gbɔ koe wòɖoa?
What! was it from you that the word of God came forth? Or did it reach only to you?
37 Ne ame aɖe susu be yenye nyagblɔɖila alo gbɔgbɔmenunana le ye si la, nexɔe se be nu siwo meŋlɔ na mi la nye sedede tso Aƒetɔ la gbɔ.
And if any one among you thinketh that he is a prophet, or that he is spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, as being the precepts of our Lord.
38 Gake ne ame aɖe gbe nya siawo xɔxɔ kokoko la, migblẽe ɖe eƒe numanyamanya me.
But if any one be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Eya ta nɔvi xɔsetɔwo, midi vevie be miagblɔ nya ɖi, eye migaxe mɔ na aɖe bubuwo gbɔgblɔ o.
Wherefore, my brethren, be emulous of prophesying: and to speak with tongues, prohibit not.
40 Ke boŋ mikpɔ egbɔ be yewowɔ nu sia nu nyuie to mɔ nyuitɔ dzi le ɖoɖo nyuitɔ nu.
But let every thing be done with decency and regularity.
