< Korintotɔwo 1 13 >
1 Ne metsɔ amewo kple mawudɔlawo ƒe gbegbɔgblɔ ƒo nui, evɔ lɔlɔ̃ mele asinye o la, ɖeko mele abe gakogoe alo ayawagba ƒe ɖiɖi ene.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
2 Ne nyagblɔɖi ƒe nunana le asinye, eye nunya katã hã le asinye be mate ŋu ase nu ɣaɣlawo gɔme, eye ne xɔse le asinye be maɖe gbe na towo be woaho, evɔ lɔlɔ̃ mele asinye o la, nyemenyo na naneke o.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
And though I give all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver up my body to be burned, and have not love, I am profited nothing.
4 Lɔlɔ̃ gbɔa dzi ɖi blewuu, eye wònyoa dɔme. Lɔlɔ̃ mebiã ŋu hã o; meƒoa adegbe o, eye medana o.
Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love boasts not; is not vain,
5 Lɔlɔ̃ medoa eɖokui ɖe dzi o, media eɖokui tɔ o, eye mefiaa amemabumabu hã o. Lɔlɔ̃ mebiaa dzi o, meléa ehavi ɖe dɔ me o, eye medea dzesi nu vɔ̃ siwo amewo wɔ ɖe eŋu ɖi o.
does nothing unbecoming, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil,
6 Lɔlɔ̃ medzɔa dzi le nu madzɔmadzɔ ŋu o, ke ekpɔa dzidzɔ le nyateƒe la me.
rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 Lɔlɔ̃ menaa ta o, ekana ɖe nu dzi ɣe sia ɣi, ekpɔa mɔ ɣe sia ɣi, eye wòdoa vevi nu ɣe sia ɣi.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Lɔlɔ̃ la nu metsina gbeɖe o. Nyagblɔɖiwo katã nu ava yi, afi si aɖe yeye gbɔgblɔ le la atɔ eye afi si sidzedze le la, enu ava yi,
Love never fails; but whether there be gifts of prophecy, they shall have an end; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall have an end.
9 elabena míenya nu afã kple afã, eye míegblɔa nya ɖi afã kple afã,
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
10 gake ne blibodede va la, ekema nu si mede blibo o la abu ɖa.
but when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part shall have an end.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I had the mind of a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Now we see through a mirror, obscurely; but then, face to face; now I know in part, but then shall I know, even as I am known.
13 Nu etɔ̃e nɔa anyi ɖaa. Esiawoe nye xɔse, mɔkpɔkpɔ kple lɔlɔ̃, eye nu si ƒo wo katã ta lae nye lɔlɔ̃.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
