1 Wode Israelvi ɖe sia ɖe ƒe ƒome Israel fiawo ƒe agbalẽ me pɛpɛpɛ. Woɖe aboyo Yudatɔwo yi Babilonia le woƒe nuteƒemawɔmawɔ ta.
All of the people of Israel were recorded in the genealogies written down in the book of the kings of Israel. The people of Judah were taken away to captivity in Babylon because they had been unfaithful.
2 Ame gbãtɔ siwo trɔ gbɔ eye woganɔ woƒe du xoxoawo me la woe nye ƒome siwo dzɔ tso Israel me kple nunɔlawo kple Levitɔwo kple ame siwo wɔa subɔsubɔdɔwo le gbedoxɔ la me.
The first to return and reclaim their property and live in their towns were some Israelites, priests, Levities, and Temple servants.
3 Emegbe la, ame aɖewo tso Yuda, Benyamin, Efraim kple Manase ƒe ƒomewo me gbɔ va ɖo Yerusalem.
Some from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh returned to live in Jerusalem. They included:
4 Ƒome siawo dometɔ ɖekae nye Utai ƒe ƒome. Utai nye Amihud ƒe vi, Amihud nye Omri ƒe vi, Omri nye Imri ƒe vi eye Imri nye Bani ƒe vi tso Yuda vi Perez ƒe viwo dome.
Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, a descendant of Perez, son of Judah.
5 Silonitɔwo hã trɔ gbɔ. Ame siwo nɔ Silonitɔwo dome la woe nye: Asaya, Silon ƒe viŋutsu tsitsitɔ kple via ade
From the Shilonites: Asaiah (firstborn) and his sons.
6 kple Zera ƒe viwo, ame siwo dome Yeuel kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo nɔ. Wo katã wode ame alafa ade blaasieke.
From the Zerahites: Jeuel and relatives totaled 690.
7 Benyamin ƒe vi siwo gbɔ la woe nye: Salu, Mesulam ƒe vi, Hodavia kple Hasenua ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi,
From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
8 Ibnea, Yeroham ƒe vi; kple Ela Uzi ƒe vi kple Mikri ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi; kple Mesulam, Safatis ƒe vi; Sefatia fofoe nye Reuel eye Reuel fofoe nye Ibniya.
Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Micri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah.
9 Ame siawo katã nye hlɔ̃mefiawo. Benyamin ƒe dzidzimevi siawo nye ame alafa asiekɛ blaatɔ̃-vɔ-ade.
All of them were family heads as recorded in their genealogies, and they totaled 956.
10 Nunɔla siwo trɔ gbɔ la woe nye: Yedaia, Yehoyarib, Yakin,
From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jakin,
11 Azaria nye Hilkia ƒe vi, ame si fofoe nye Mesulam, ame si fofoe nye Zadok, ame si fofoe nye Merayot, ame si fofoe nye Ahitub. Zadok nye amegã na nudzikpɔlawo le gbedoxɔ la me.
Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub. (Azariah was the head official in charge of the house of God.)
12 Nunɔla siwo trɔ gbɔ la dometɔ ɖekae nye Adaya, Yeroham ƒe vi, ame si nye Pasur ƒe vi, ame si nye Malkiya ƒe vi. Nunɔla bubuwoe nye: Masai, ame si nye Adiel ƒe vi, ame si nye Yahzera ƒe vi, ame si nye Mesulam ƒe vi, ame si nye Mesilemit ƒe vi, ame si nye Imer ƒe vi.
Also Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malkijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer.
13 Nunɔla siwo trɔ gbɔ la ƒe xexlẽmee nye akpe ɖeka, alafa adre blaade. Ame siwo nye ame zãzɛwo le Mawu ƒe aƒe dɔwo wɔwɔ me.
The priests, who were family heads, totaled 1,760. They were strong and capable men who served in the house of God.
14 Ame siwo tso Levi ƒe viwo dome la woe nye: Semaya, Hashub ƒe vi, ame si nye Azrikam ƒe vi, ame si nye Hasabia ƒe vi, ame si dzɔ tso Merari me.
From the Levites: Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;
15 Levi ƒe vi bubu siwo trɔ gbɔ la woe nye: Bakbakar, Heres, Galal, Matania, Mika ƒe vi, ame si nye Zikri ƒe vi, ame si nye Asaf ƒe vi;
Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zicri, son of Asaph;
16 kple Obadia, Semaya ƒe vi, Galal ƒe vi kple Berekia, Asa ƒe vi, ame si nye Elkana ƒe vi, ame si nɔ Netofatitɔwo ƒe anyigba dzi.
Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who used to live in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Agbonudzɔlawoe nye: Salum, Akub, Talmon, Ahiman kple wo nɔviwo. Salum nye woƒe tatɔ.
The gatekeepers of the Temple: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman and their relatives. Shallum was the chief gatekeeper.
18 Wodae ɖe Fia ƒe Agbo nu le ɣedzeƒe va se ɖe egbe. Ame siawoe nye agbonudzɔlawo tso Levitɔwo dome.
They had the responsibility up until now of looking after the King's Gate on the east side. They were the gatekeepers of the camps of the Levites.
19 Salum ƒe dzidzime to Kore kple Ebiasaf dzi va se ɖe Korah dzi. Eya kple nɔviawo, Korah ƒe viwoe kpɔa vɔsawo kple Kɔkɔeƒe la dzi abe ale si wo fofowo kpɔ agbadɔ la dzi eye wodzɔ eŋu ene.
Shallum was the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrances to the sanctuary in the same way their fathers had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the tented house of the Lord.
20 Finehas, Eleazar ƒe vi, nye woƒe amegã gbãtɔ le blema eye Yehowa nɔ kplii.
Previously Phinehas son of Eleazar had been the leader of the gatekeepers. The Lord was with him.
21 Le ɣe ma ɣi la, Zekaria, Meselemia ƒe vi dzɔ Mawu ƒe Agbadɔ la ƒe agbonu ŋu.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
22 Ame siwo katã wotia be woanye agbonudzɔlawo la ƒe xexlẽme le alafa eve wuieve. Wotia wo tso woƒe kɔƒewo me ɖe woƒe dzidzimegbalẽ nu. David kple nukpɔla Samuel woe de agbonudzɔdɔ asi na agbonudzɔlawo.
In total there were 212 chosen to be gatekeepers at the entrances. They recorded their genealogies in their home towns. David and Samuel the prophet had selected their forefathers for their faithfulness.
23 Woawo kple woƒe dzidzimeviwoe dzɔa Yehowa ƒe aƒe la ƒe agbonu, aƒe si woyɔna be Agbadɔ.
They and their descendants were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord, also when it was a tent.
24 Woda agbonudzɔlawo ɖe akpa eneawo dzi: ɣedzeƒe, ɣetoɖoƒe, anyiehe kple dziehe.
The gatekeepers were placed on four sides: east, west, north, and south.
25 Enɔ na wo nɔviŋutsu siwo nɔ woƒe kɔƒewo me be woava tso ɣeyiɣi yi ɣeyiɣi akpe ɖe wo ŋuti le woƒe dɔwɔnawo me ŋkeke adre.
Their relatives in their towns came every seven days at certain times to help them.
26 Wotsɔ Mawu ƒe aƒe la ƒe xɔwo kple nudzraɖoƒewo ƒe dzikpɔkpɔ de asi na agbonudzɔlagã eneawo, ame siwo nye Levitɔwo.
The four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were given the responsibility of looking after the rooms and treasuries in the house of God.
27 Zã sia zã la, woƒoa xlã Mawu ƒe aƒe la eye wodzɔa eŋu elabena woƒe dɔe nye be woadzɔ eŋu eye le esia ta safui la nɔa wo si be woaʋu agbo la ŋdi sia ŋdi.
They spent the night around the house of God because they had to guard it and they had the key to unlock it in the morning.
28 Wo dometɔ aɖewo ƒe dɔe nye woakpɔ agba vovovo siwo ŋu dɔ wowɔna le mawusubɔsubɔ me la dzi, woaxlẽ wo ne wotsɔ wo vɛ kple ne wotsɔ wo do goe.
Some of the gatekeepers were responsible for the articles that were used in worship services. They counted what was brought in and what was taken out.
29 Ame bubuwo ƒe dɔe nye woakpɔ xɔmenuwo kple nu siwo le Kɔkɔeƒe la me kple wɔ memi kple wain, ami kple dzudzɔdonu kple atike ʋeʋĩwo dzi.
Others were given the job of looking after the furniture and equipment used in the sanctuary, as well as the special flour, wine, olive oil, incense, and spices.
30 Ke atikeʋeʋĩawo tɔtɔ nye nunɔla aɖewo ƒe dɔ.
(However, some of the priests were in charge of mixing the spices.)
31 Levitɔ aɖe si ŋkɔe nye Matitia, Korahitɔ Salum ƒe viŋutsu ŋgɔgbeae nye ame si wotsɔ abolo si wotsɔna saa vɔe ƒe meme ƒe dɔ de asi na.
Mattithiah, a Levite, who was the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was given the responsibility of baking the bread used in offerings.
32 Kohatitɔ la ƒe viŋutsuawo dometɔ aɖewo ƒe dɔe nye be woame abolo si wodana ɖe kplɔ̃ dzi Dzudzɔgbe ɖe sia ɖe.
Other Kohathites were in charge of preparing the bread set out on the table every Sabbath.
33 Ame siwo nye hadzilawo kple Levitɔwo ƒe ƒometatɔwo la, nɔa gbedoxɔ la ƒe xɔwo me. Womegaɖoa dɔ bubu aɖeke na wo o elabena wowɔa dɔ le ŋkeke me kple zã me siaa.
The musicians, heads of Levite families, lived in the rooms in the Temple and were not required to carry out other duties because they were on duty day and night.
34 Ame siawo katã nye Levi ƒomewo ƒe tatɔwo kple hlɔ̃memetsitsiwo abe ale si wòdze le woƒe dzidzimegbalẽ la me ene eye wonɔ Yerusalem.
These were all heads of Levite families, leaders as recorded in their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35 Yeiel, Gibeon fofo, enɔ Gibeon; srɔ̃a ŋkɔe nye Maaka.
Jeiel was the father of Gibeon and he lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah.
36 Via ŋutsu tsitsitɔe nye Abdon eye eyomeviwoe nye Zur, Kis, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 Gedor, Ahio, Zekaria kple Miklot.
Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Miklot kple via Simeam nɔ Yerusalem te ɖe woƒe ƒometɔwo ŋu.
Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They also lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
39 Ner dzi Kis, ame si dzi Saul eye Saul hã dzi Yonatan, Malki Sua, Abinadab kple Esbaal.
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.
40 Yonatan dzi Mefiboset, ame si wogayɔna hã be Meribaal eye eya hã dzi Mika.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal, who was the father of Micah.
41 Mika ƒe viwoe nye: Pitɔn, Melek, Tahrea kple Ahaz.
The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42 Ahaz dzi Yada, ame si dzi Alemet, Azmavet kple Zimri; ame si nye Moza fofo.
Ahaz was the father of Jadah, Jadah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza.
43 Moza dzi Binea, Refaya, Eleasa kple Azel.
Moza was the father of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.
44 Ŋutsuvi ade nɔ Azel si; woawoe nye: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ismael, Searia, Obadia kple Hanan.
Azel had six sons. Their names were: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
