Togbɔ be eyae nye ŋgɔgbevi hã la, eƒo ɖi fofoa ƒe srɔ̃ɖeba eya ta woxɔ ŋgɔgbevinyenye la le esi tsɔ na Israel ƒe vi, Yosef ƒe viŋutsuwo. Esia tae womeŋlɔ eƒe ŋkɔ be eyae nye ŋgɔgbevi le dzidzimegbalẽ la me abe ale si wòle be wòanɔ ene o.
And the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel (for he [was] the firstborn; but because of his going up to his father's couch, [his father] gave his blessing to his son Joseph, [even] the son of Israel; and he was not reckoned as firstborn;
2 Togbɔ be Yosef va zu ŋgɔgbevi hã la, Yuda va nye hlɔ̃ sesẽ, xɔŋkɔ aɖe le Israel eye Yuda mee fiavi aɖe do tso.
for Judas [was] very mighty even among his brethren, and one was to be a ruler out of him: but the blessing [was] Joseph's).
3 Ruben ƒe viwoe nye: Hanok, Palu, Hezron kple Karmi.
The sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel; Enoch, and Phallus, Asrom, and Charmi.
4 Yoel ƒe viwoe nye, Semaya, ame si dzi Gog, ame si dzi Simei.
The sons of Joel; Semei, and Banaia his son: and the sons of Gug the son of Semei.
5 Simei ƒe vie nye Mika, ame si dzi Reaia, ame si dzi Baal.
His son [was] Micha, his son Recha, his son Joel,
6 Baal ƒe vie nye Beera, ame si nye fiavi tso Ruben ƒe viwo dome. Asiria fia Tilgat Pilneser ɖe aboyoe.
his son Beel, whom Thagla-phallasar king of Assyria carried away captive: he [is] the chief of the Rubenites.
7 Woƒe ƒometɔwo le woƒe hlɔ̃wo nu abe ale si wode wo dzidzimegbalẽ la me la, le ale: Yeiel, fia la kple Zekaria
And his brethren in his family, in their distribution according to their generations; the chief, Joel, and Zacharia.
8 kple Bela, Azaz ƒe viŋutsu, Sema ƒe viŋutsu kple Yoel ƒe viŋutsu. Wonɔ teƒe si tso Aroer yi Nebo kple Baal Meon.
And Balec the son of Azuz, the son of Sama, the son of Joel: he lived in Aroer, and even to Naban, and Beelmasson.
9 Yoel nye lãnyila; enyi woƒe lãwo le gbegbe la ƒe ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo heyi ɖe Frat tɔsisi la gbɔ elabena nyi geɖewo nɔ Gileadnyigba dzi.
And he lived eastward to the borders of the wilderness, from the river Euphrates: for they had much cattle in the land of Galaad.
10 Le Fia Saul ƒe fiaɖuɣi la, Ruben ƒe viwo ɖu Hagritɔwo dzi eye woge ɖe woƒe agbadɔwo me le Gilead ƒe ɣedzeƒeliƒo dzi.
And in the days of Saul they made war upon the sojourners [in the land]; and they fell into their hands, all of them dwelling in their tents eastward of Galaad.
11 Gad ƒe dzidzimeviwo nɔ woƒe kasa le anyigba si tso Basan yi keke Saleka:
The sons of Gad lived over against them in the land of Basan even to Sela.
12 Yoel nye wo dometɔ xɔŋkɔtɔ eye Safam, Yanai kple Safat kplɔe ɖo.
Joel the firstborn, and Sapham the second, and Janin the scribe in Basan.
13 Woƒe ƒometɔ siwo nye hlɔ̃ adreawo ƒe amegãwo la woe nye, Mikael, Mesulam, Seba, Yorai, Yakan, Zia kple Eber.
And their brethren according to the houses of their fathers; Michael, Mosollam, and Sebee, and Joree, and Joachan, and Zue, and Obed, seven.
14 Buz ƒe dzidzimeviwo le woƒe tsitsi nu le ale: Yahdo, Yesisai. Mikael, Gilead, Yarao, Huri kple Abihail.
These [are] the sons of Abichaia the son of Uri, the son of Idai, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesai, the son of Jeddai, the son of Buz,
15 Guni ƒe vi, Abdiel ƒe vi, Ahi nye hlɔ̃ la ƒe kplɔla.
[who was] the brother of the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, [he was] chief of the house of their families.
16 Hlɔ̃ la nɔ Gilead, Basan kple wo ŋu duwo me kpakple Saron ƒe lãnyiƒe nutowo katã me va se ɖe eƒe mlɔenu.
They lived in Galaad, in Basan, and in their villages, and [in] all the country round about Saron to the border.
17 Woŋlɔ wo katã ƒe ŋkɔwo ɖe dzidzimegbalẽ la me le Yuda fia Yotam kple Israel fia Yeroboam ƒe fiaɖuɣi.
The enumeration of [them] all took place in the days of Joatham king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 Asrafo akpe blaene-vɔ-ene alafa adre blaade, ame siwo si aʋawɔnuwo nɔ, wohe wo nyuie eye wonye kalẽtɔwo la nɔ Ruben, Gad kple Manase ƒe to la ƒe afã ƒe aʋakɔ me.
The sons of Ruben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasse, of mighty men, bearing shields and sword, and bending the bow, and skilled in war, [were] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going forth to battle.
19 Woho aʋa ɖe Hagritɔwo, Yeturitɔwo, Nafisitɔwo kple Nodabitɔwo ŋu.
And they made war with the Agarenes, and Itureans, and Naphiseans, and Nadabeans,
20 Wodo gbe ɖa na Mawu, bia eƒe kpekpeɖeŋu eye wòkpe ɖe wo ŋu le woƒe ŋuɖoɖo ɖe eŋu ta. Ale woɖu Hagritɔwo kple woƒe kpeɖeŋutɔwo dzi.
and they prevailed against them: and the Agaraeans were given into their hands, [they] and all their tents: for they cried to God in the battle, and he listened to them, because they trusted on him.
21 Woƒe afunyinuwo nye kposɔ akpe blaatɔ̃, alẽ akpe alafa eve blaatɔ̃, tedzi akpe eve kple ame akpe alafa ɖeka.
And they took captive their store; five thousand camels, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand men.
22 Woƒe futɔ geɖewo ku le aʋa la me elabena Mawu tsi tsitre ɖe wo ŋu. Ale Ruben ƒe dzidzimeviwo nɔ Hagritɔwo ƒe dzidzimeviwo ƒe anyigba dzi va se ɖe esime woɖe aboyo wo.
For many fell slain, because the war [was] of God. And they lived in their place until the captivity.
23 Manase ƒe to ƒe afã kaka ɖe anyigba si tso Basan yi Baal Hermon, Senir kple Hermon to la ŋu. Woawo hã sɔ gbɔ ŋutɔ.
And the half-tribe of Manasse lived from Basan to Baal, Ermon, and Sanir, and [to] the mount Aermon: and they increased in Libanus.
24 Woƒe hlɔ̃wo ƒe fiawoe nye Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Yeremia, Hodavia kple Yahdiel. Wo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe xɔ ŋkɔ abe aʋawɔla kple kplɔla ene.
And these were the heads of the houses of their families; Opher, and Sei, and Eliel, and Jeremia, and Oduia, and Jediel, mighty men of valour, men of renown, heads of the houses of their families.
25 Ke womesubɔ wo fofowo ƒe Mawu la o, ke boŋ wosubɔ ame siwo Mawu tsrɔ̃ la ƒe legbawo.
But they rebelled against the God of their fathers, and went a-whoring after the gods of the nations of the land, whom God cast out from before them.
26 Esia ta Israel ƒe Mawu na Asiria fia Pul (ame si wogayɔna be Fia Tilgat Pilneser Etɔ̃lia la), ho aʋa ɖe wo ŋu eye wòɖe aboyo Ruben ƒe viwo, Gad ƒe viwo kple Manase ƒe hlɔ̃ afã me tɔwo. Wokplɔ wo yi Hala, Habor, Hara kple Gozan tɔsisi la to, afi si wole va se ɖe egbe.
And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phaloch king of Assyria, and the spirit of Thagla-phallasar king of Assyria, and carried away Ruben and Gaddi, and the half-tribe of Manasse, and brought them to Chaach, and Chabor, and to the river Gozan, until this day.
