1 Yuda ƒe dzidzimevi bubuawoe nye: Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur kple Sobal.
the sons of Judah, Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 Sobal ƒe vie nye Reaia, ame si dzi Yahat, ame si dzi Ahumai kple Lahad. Ame siawo va zu Zoratitɔwo ƒe ƒomewo.
And, Reaiah son of Shobal, begat Jahath, and, Jahath, begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These, are the families of the Zorathites.
3 Etam ƒe dzidzimeviwoe nye: Yezreel, Isma, Idbas kple via nyɔnu Hazelelponi
And, these, were the sons of Etam, Jezreel and Ishma, and Idbash, —and, the name of their sister, was Hazzelelponi;
4 Penuel dzi Gedor eye Ezer dzi Husa Ezer. Ame siawoe nye Hur ƒe dzidzimeviwo, Hur nye Efrata ƒe ŋgɔgbevi kple Betlehem fofo.
and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer, the father of Hushah. These, are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
5 Asur, Tekoa fofo, ɖe srɔ̃ eve: Hela kple Naara.
And, Ashhur the father of Tekoa, had two wives, —Helah, and Naarah.
6 Naara dzi Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni kple Haahastari.
And Naarah bare him Ahuzzam and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These, were the sons of Naarah.
7 Hela ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Zeret, Zohar, Etnan kple
And, the sons of Helah, were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
8 Koz, ame si dzi Anub kple Hazobeba hekpe ɖe Harum ƒe vi ƒe hlɔ̃ ŋu eye eya mee hlɔ̃ si wotsɔ kple Aharlel, Harum ƒe vi, ŋkɔ na la dzɔ tso.
And, Koz, begat Anub, and Zobebah, —and the families of Aharhel, the son of Harum.
9 Yabez xɔ ŋkɔ wu nɔvia bubuawo katã. Dadaa na ŋkɔe be, Yabez si gɔmee nye, “Vevesese” elabena dadaa se veve ŋutɔ le edzidzi me.
Now it came to pass that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren, —but, his mother, had called his name Jabez, ["he causes pain"] saying, Because I bare him with pain.
10 Eyae do gbe ɖa na Israel ƒe Mawu be, “Oo, yram eye nàkpe ɖe ŋunye le nye dɔwɔwɔ me. Meɖe kuku, nɔ kplim le nu sia nu si mawɔ la me eye nàɖem tso nu vɔ̃ kple dzɔgbevɔ̃e ɖe sia ɖe me.” Mawu se eƒe gbedodoɖa.
So then Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldst, indeed bless, me, and enlarge my boundary, and that thy hand might be with me, —and that thou wouldst work [to deliver me] from evil, that it be not my pain. And God brought about that which he asked.
11 Kelub, Suha nɔviŋutsu, dzi Mehir, ame si dzi Eston.
And, Chelub the brother of Shuhah, begat Mehir, the same, was the father of Eshton.
12 Eston dzi Bet Rafa, Pasea kple Tehina, ame si dzi Ir Nahas. Ame siawoe nye Reka ƒe ŋutsuwo.
And, Eshton, begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir-nahash. These, are the men of Recah.
13 Kenaz dzi Otniel kple Seraya. Otniel dzi Hatat Meonatai.
And, the sons of Kenaz, were Othniel, and Seraiah, —and, the sons of Othniel, Hathath.
14 Meonatai, ame si dzi Ofra. Seraya dzi Yoab, ame si me Ge Harasim, aɖaŋuwɔla siwo nɔ Aɖaŋuwɔlawo ƒe Balime la dzɔ tso.
And, Meonothai, begat Ophrah, —and, Seraiah, begat Joab, the father of Ge-harashim, for they were, craftsmen.
15 Kaleb, Yefune ƒe vi, dzi Iru, Ela kple Naam. Kenaz nɔ Ela ƒe viwo dome.
And, the sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh, were Iru, Elah, and Naam, —and the sons of Elah and Kenaz.
16 Yehalelel ƒe viwoe nye Zif, Zifa, Tiria kple Asarel.
And, the sons of Jehallelel, Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17 Ezra dzi Yeter, Mered, Efer kple Yalon. Mered ɖe Bitia, fiavinyɔnu aɖe tso Egipte eye wodzi Miriam, Samai kple Isba, ame si nye Estemoa fofo.
And, the sons of Ezrah, Jether and Mered, and Epher and Jalon. And, these, are the sons of Bithia, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took, —and she conceived and bare Miriam and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Estemoa srɔ̃ nye Yuda nyɔnu aɖe eye wòdzi Yered, Heber kple Yekutiel. Yered nye Gedor fofo, Heber nye Soko fofo eye Yekutiel nye Zanoah fofo.
And, his wife, the Jewess, bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah.
19 Hodia srɔ̃ nye Naham nɔvinyɔnu. Via ɖekae nye Keila, Garmitɔ la fofo; via bubue dzi Estemoa, Maakatitɔ la.
And, the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah, the Garmite, —and Eshtemoa, the Maacathite.
20 Simɔn dzi Amnon, Rina, Ben Hanan kple Tilɔn. Isi dzi Zohet kple Ben Zohet.
And, the sons of Shimon, Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan and Tilon. And, the sons of Ishi, Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
21 Yuda ƒe viŋutsu, Sela ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye Er, ame si dzi Leka, Lada, ame si dzi Maresa kple ame siwo nye avɔlɔ̃lawo nɔ Bet Asbea,
the sons of Shelah, the son of Judah, Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, —and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
22 Yokim, Kozeba, Yoas kple Saraf ŋutsuwo, ame siwo ɖu fia le Moab kple Yasubi Lehem. Ŋkɔ siawo tso nuŋlɔɖi xoxoawo me.
and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph who ruled for Moab, and Jashubi-lehem, —but, the records, are ancient.
23 Ame siawo xɔ ŋkɔ le zememe kple agbledede le Nataim kple Gedera me eye wowɔa dɔ na fia la.
They, were the potters and the inhabitants of Netaim, and Gederah, —with the king in his work, dwelt they there.
24 Simeon dzi Nemuel, Yamin, Yarib, Zera kple Saul.
The sons of Simeon, Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul:
25 Saul dzi Salum, ame si dzi Mibsam, ame si dzi Misma.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 Misma ƒe viwo dometɔ ɖekae nye Hamuel, ame si dzi Zakur, ame si dzi Simei.
And, the sons of Mishma, Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27 Simei dzi viŋutsu wuiade kple vinyɔnu ade. Nɔviawo dometɔ aɖeke ƒe viwo mesɔ gbɔ alea o eye wo viwo mede esi Yudatɔ geɖewo dzina la nu o.
And, Shimei, had sixteen sons, and six daughters, but, his brethren, had not many children, —nor did, any of their family, multiply so much as the sons of Judah.
28 Wonɔ Beerseba, Molada, Hazar Sual
And they dwelt in Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-shual;
29 Bilha, Ezem, Tolad,
and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad;
30 Betuel, Horma, Ziklag,
and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag;
31 Bet Markabot, Hazar Susim, Bet Biri kple Saaraim. Du siawo nɔ woƒe asi me va se ɖe David ƒe fiaɖuɣi.
and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazar-susim, and in Beth-biri, and in Shaaraim. These, were their cities unto the reign of David.
32 Kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlã wo lae nye Etam, Ain, Rimon, Token kple Asan, kɔƒe atɔ̃
And, their villages, were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, —five cities;
33 kple kɔƒe siwo katã ƒo xlã du siawo va se ɖe Baalat. Esiawoe nye woƒe duwo, eye dzidzimegbalẽ nɔ wo si.
and all their villages that were round about these cities, as far as Baal. These, were their habitations, and they had their own genealogical register.
34 Mesobab, Yamlek, Yosa Amazia ƒe viŋutsu,
And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah;
35 Yoel, Yehu, Yosibia ƒe viŋutsu, ame si nye Seraya ƒe vi kple Asiel ƒe vi,
and Joel, —and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel:
36 Elioenai, Yaakoba, Yehodaya, Asaya, Adiel, Yesimiel, Benaya,
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah:
37 Zira, ame si nye Sifi ƒe vi, ame si nye Alon ƒe vi, ame si nye Yedaia ƒe vi, ame si nye Simri ƒe vi ame si nye Semaya ƒe vi.
and Ziza, son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.
38 Ŋutsu siwo ƒe ŋkɔ woyɔ va yi la woe nye woƒe ƒomeawo ƒe tatɔwo. Woƒe ƒomewo dzi ɖe edzi fũu
These, introduced by their names, were leading men in their families. And, their ancestral house, brake forth exceedingly;
39 eye woyi Gedor ƒe gbɔto le balime la ƒe ɣedzeƒe gome le gbeɖuƒe dim na woƒe lãhawo.
so they went to the entering in of Gerar, unto the east of the valley, —to seek pasture for their flocks;
40 Wokpɔ lãnyiƒe damawo, anyigba la keke nyuie, teƒe si ŋutifafa kple ɖoɖoezizi le. Hamitɔ aɖewo nɔ afi ma kpɔ.
and they found pasture, fat and good, and, the land, was broad on both hands, and quiet, and secure, —for, of Ham, were the dwellers there aforetime.
41 Ame siwo ƒe ŋkɔ woŋlɔ da ɖi la va le Yuda Fia Hezekia ƒe fiaɖuɣi. Woho aʋa ɖe Hamitɔwo ŋu le woƒe nɔƒewo nenema ke nye Meunitɔ siwo nɔ afi ma eye wotsrɔ̃ wo keŋkeŋ abe ale si wòle dzedzem egbe ene. Wonɔ woƒe nɔƒe elabena lãnyiƒe nɔ afi ma na woƒe lãhawo.
But these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and devoted them, until this day, and dwelt in their stead, —for there was pasture for their flocks, there.

And, some of them, of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, five hundred men, —with Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head;
43 Wowu ame ʋɛe siwo susɔ tso Amalek ƒomea me eye wotsi afi ma va se ɖe egbe.
and they smote the remainder that had escaped, of the Amalekites, —and dwelt there—[as they have] unto this day.
