1 Esi David tsi, ku amegã eye wòxɔ ƒe geɖe la, etsɔ Via ŋutsu Solomo ɖo Fiae ɖe Israel nu.
When David was old and full of years, he installed his son Solomon as king over Israel.
2 Eyɔ dukplɔlawo, nunɔlawo kple Levitɔwo katã le Israel ƒo ƒu hena fiaɖoɖo ƒe wɔnawo.
Then he gathered all the leaders of Israel, as well as the priests and Levites.
3 Woxlẽ Levitɔ siwo xɔ ƒe blaetɔ̃ kple edzivɔwo eye wode ame akpe blaetɔ̃-vɔ-enyi.
The Levites thirty years of age or older were counted, and the total number of men was 38,000.
4 David gblɔ be, “Ame siawo dometɔ akpe blaeve-vɔ-ene akpɔ Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ la tutu dzi eye ame akpe ade nanye dɔnunɔlawo kple ʋɔnudrɔ̃lawo.
“Of these,” said David, “24,000 are to oversee the work of the house of the LORD, 6,000 are to be officers and judges,
5 Ame akpe ene anye agbonudzɔlawo eye akpe ene nakafu Yehowa kple haƒonu siwo metsɔ na mi hena Mawu kafukafu.”
4,000 are to be gatekeepers, and 4,000 are to praise the LORD with the instruments I have made for giving praise.”
6 Le esia megbe la, ema wo ɖe akpa gã etɔ̃ me. Etsɔ Levi ƒe vi etɔ̃awo ƒe ŋkɔwo na mamawo eye wozu Gerson ƒe ha, Kohat ƒe ha kple Merari ƒe ha.
Then David divided the Levites into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
7 Woma Gerson ƒe viwo hã ɖe akpa eve me eye wotsɔ Gerson ƒe viwo Ladan kple Simei ƒe ŋkɔwo na wo.
The Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
8 Ladan ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye, Yehiel, ame si nye gbãtɔ, Zetam kple Yoel. Wo ame etɔ̃e.
The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the first, Zetham, and Joel—three in all.
9 Simei ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye, Selomot, Haziel kple Haran. Wo ame etɔ̃e. Ame siawoe nye Ladan ƒome la ƒe tatɔwo.
The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran—three in all. These were the heads of the families of Ladan.
10 Simei ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Yahat, Ziza, Yeus kple Beria. Ame siawoe nye Simei viwo. Wole ame ene.
And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These were the sons of Shimei—four in all.
11 (Yahat nye viŋutsu gbãtɔ eye Ziza nye evelia. Ke Yeus kple Beria medzi viŋutsu geɖewo o eya ta woxlẽ wo abe ƒome ɖeka ene eye dɔdeasi ɖeka nɔ wo si.)
Jahath was the first and Zizah was the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they were counted as one family and received a single assignment.
12 Wogama Kohat ƒe viwo ƒe hlɔ̃wo ɖe akpa ene me eye wotsɔ Kohat ƒe viwo ƒe ŋkɔwo na wo: Amram, Izhar, Hebron kple Uziel.
The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel—four in all.
13 Amram ƒe viwoe nye Aron kple Mose. Wotia Aron kple viawo da ɖi hena nuwo ŋu kɔkɔ kple vɔsasa le Yehowa ŋkume. Aron subɔna le Yehowa ŋkume eye wòyraa ameawo le Yehowa ƒe ŋkɔ me ɣeawo katã ɣi.
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron and his descendants were set apart forever to consecrate the most holy things, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister before Him, and to pronounce blessings in His name forever.
14 Wobu Mose, Mawu ƒe dɔla ƒe viŋutsuwo ɖe Levitɔwo dome.
As for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
15 Mose ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye, Gersom kple Eliezer.
The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16 Gersom ƒe dzidzimeviwoe nye, Subael, ame si nye viŋutsu gbãtɔ.
The descendants of Gershom: Shebuel was the first.
17 Eliezer ƒe vi: Rehabia nye vi ɖekɛ kple gbãtɔ eye wònye hlɔ̃ la ƒe tatɔ. (Eliezer megadzi vi aɖeke o, ke Rehabia viwo sɔ gbɔ ŋutɔ.)
The descendants of Eliezer: Rehabiah was the first. Eliezer did not have any other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very numerous.
18 Izhar ƒe viwo ƒe tatɔe nye Selomit.
The sons of Izhar: Shelomith was the first.
19 Hebron ƒe viwo ƒe tatɔe nye, Yeria, via eveliae nye Amaria, etɔ̃liae nye Yahaziel eye eneliae nye Yekameam.
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah was the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Uziel ƒe vi gbãtɔe nye, Mika eye eveliae nye Isia.
The sons of Uzziel: Micah was the first and Isshiah the second.
21 Merari ƒe viwoe nye, Mahli kple Musi. Mahli ƒe viwoe nye, Eleazar kple Kis.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22 Eleazar medzi viŋutsu aɖeke hafi ku o, via nyɔnuwo ɖe wo fofo nɔvi, Kis ƒe viŋutsuwo.
Eleazar died without having any sons; he had only daughters. Their cousins, the sons of Kish, married them.
23 Musi ƒe viwoe nye Mahli, Eder kple Yeremot.
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth —three in all.
24 Le amexexlẽ la me la, woda Levi ƒe vi siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve kple edzivɔ la ɖe hlɔ̃ kple aƒekɔ siawo me eye woɖo na wo be woawɔ subɔsubɔdɔ le gbedoxɔ la me
These were the descendants of Levi by their families—the heads of families, registered individually by name—those twenty years of age or older who worked in the service of the house of the LORD.
25 elabena David gblɔ be, “Yehowa, Israel ƒe Mawu la na ŋutifafa mí eye wòanɔ Yerusalem ɣe sia ɣi.
For David had said, “The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to His people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem forever.
26 Azɔ ya la, magahiã be Levitɔwo natsɔ Agbadɔ la kple nu siwo ŋu dɔ woawɔ le eme la tso teƒe ɖeka ayi teƒe bubu o.”
So now the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the articles for its service.”
27 Levitɔwo xexlẽe nye nu mamlɛtɔ si David wɔ hafi ku.
For according to the final instructions of David, the Levites twenty years of age or older were counted,
28 Levitɔwo ƒe dɔe nye be, woakpe ɖe Aron ƒe dzidzimeviwo ŋu le Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ ƒe dɔwo wɔwɔ me. Woawoe akpɔ, xɔxɔnuawo, xɔŋuxɔewo, nu kɔkɔeawo ŋu kɔkɔ ƒe wɔnawo dzi kple dɔ bubuwo wɔwɔ le Mawu ƒe aƒe la me.
but their duty was to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the house of the LORD, being responsible for the courts and chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,
29 Woawoe tsɔa ŋkumeɖobolo ɖoa kplɔ̃ dzi, tua wɔ hena nuɖuvɔsawo, mea akpɔnɔ kple amɔ maʋamaʋã, blua abolowɔ hemenɛ eye wokpɔa nudanuwo kple nudzidzenuwo katã dzi.
as well as for the rows of the showbread, the fine flour for the grain offering, the wafers of unleavened bread, the baking, the mixing, and all measurements of quantity and size.
30 Enɔ na wo hã be woatsi tsitre ada akpe, akafu Mawu ŋdi sia ŋdi. Woawɔ alea fiẽ sia fiẽ hã.
They were also to stand every morning to give thanks and praise to the LORD, and likewise in the evening.
31 Nenema kee woawɔ nenye be wole numevɔwo sam na Yehowa le Dzudzɔgbe ŋkekewo dzi, Dzinu yeye ŋkekenyuiwo kple ŋkekenyui ɖoɖi bubuwo dzi. Enɔ na wo be woasubɔ le Yehowa ŋkume le agbɔsɔsɔ aɖe sinu me ɣe sia ɣi le ɖoɖo si wogblɔ ɖa ɖi na wo la nu.
Whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts, they were to serve regularly before the LORD in the numbers prescribed for them.
32 Ale Levitɔwo wɔa woƒe dɔdeasiwo le Agbadɔ la me, le Kɔkɔeƒe la me eye wowɔnɛ le wo nɔvi siwo nye Aron ƒe dzidzimeviwo la ƒe dzikpɔkpɔ te. Wowɔa dɔ siawo katã le Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me.
So the Levites were to carry out the responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting and the Holy Place, and, under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, the service of the house of the LORD.
