the sons of Judah, Er, and Onan, and Shelah, the three born to him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess, —but Er the firstborn of Judah became wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, and he slew him.

And, Tamar his daughter-in-law, bare him, Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah, were five.

The sons of Perez, Hezron and Hamul.

6 Zera ƒe viwo nye: Zimri, Etan, Heman, Kalkol kple Dara.

And, the sons of Zerah, Zimri and Ethan, and Heman and Calcol and Dara, all of them, five.

And, the sons of Carmi, Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in a thing devoted.

8 Etan ƒe vie nye Azaria.

And, the sons of Ethan, Azariah.

9 Hezron ƒe viwoe nye Yerameel, Ram kple Kelubai.

And, the sons of Hezron, who were born to him, Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Calubai.

10 Ram dzi Aminadab eye Aminadab dzi Nahson, ame si va zu Yuda to la ƒe kplɔla ɖeka.

And, Ram, begat Amminadab, —and, Amminadab, begat Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah.

And, Nahshon, begat Salma, and, Salma, begat Boaz;

and, Boaz, begat Obed, and, Obed, begat Jesse;

and, Jesse, begat—his firstborn, Eliab, —and Abinadab, the second, and Shimea, the third;

Nethanel, the fourth, Raddai, the fifth;

Ozem, the sixth, David, the seventh.

And, Abigail, bare Amasa, —and, the father of Amasa, was Jether the Ishmaelite.

18 Kaleb, Hezron ƒe vi ɖe srɔ̃ eve, Azuba kple Yeriot. Azuba ƒe viwoe nye: Yeser, Sobab kple Ardon.

And, Caleb son of Hezron, begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth, —and, these, were her sons, Jesher and Shobab and Ardon.

19 Esi Azuba ku la, Kaleb ɖe Efrat eye wòdzi ŋutsuvi, Hur, nɛ.

And Azubah died, —and Caleb took unto him Ephrath, and she bare to him Hur.

20 Hur ƒe vie nye Uri eye Uri hã dzi Bezalel.

And, Hur, begat Uri, and, Uri, begat Bezalel.

21 Esi Hezron xɔ ƒe blaade la eɖe Makir ƒe vinyɔnu eye wòdzi ŋutsuvi, Segub nɛ. Makir ƒe vi bubue nye Gilead.

And, afterward, Hezron went in unto the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead, and he took her when he was sixty years old, —and she bare him Segub.

22 Segub nye Yair fofo. Du blaeve-vɔ-etɔ̃ nɔ Yair ƒe kpɔkplɔ te le Gileadnyigba dzi.

And, Segub, begat Jair, —who came to have twenty-three cities, in the land of Gilead;

but Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath and the villages thereof, sixty cities. All these, were the sons of Machir, father of Gilead.

24 Esi Hezron ku le Kaleb Efrata la, Abiya, Hezron srɔ̃ dzi Asur, Tekoa fofo.

And, after the death of Hezron, Caleb entered Ephrathah, —and, the wife of Hezron, was Abiah, who bare him Ashur, father of Tekoa.

25 Hezron ƒe vi tsitsitɔ, Yerameel ƒe viwoe nye: Ram ƒe viŋutsu tsitsitɔ, Buna, Oren, Ozem kple Ahiya.

And the sons of Jerahmeel firstborn of Hezron were, the firstborn, Ram, —and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem [of] Ahijah.

26 Yerameel srɔ̃ evelia, Atara, dzi Onam.

And Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name, was Atarah, —the same, was the mother of Onam.

27 Ram ƒe viwoe nye Maaz, Yamin kple Eker.

And the sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerameel, were, —Maaz and Jamin, and Eker.

And, the name of the wife of Abishur, was Abihail, —and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

And, the sons of Nadab, Seled and Appaim, —but Seled died without sons.

31 Apaim ƒe vie nye Isi, ame si dzi Sesan eye eya hã dzi Ahlai.

And, the sons of Appaim, Ishi, and, the sons of Ishi, Sheshan, and, the sons of Sheshan, Ahlai.

32 Samai nɔvi dzi ŋutsuvi eve: Yeter kple Yonatan. Yeter medzi vi aɖeke hafi ku o,

And, the sons of Jada, brother of Shammai, Jether, and Jonathan, —but Jether died without sons.

33 ke Yonatan dzi vi eve: Pelet kple Zaza. Ame siawoe nye Yerameel ƒe viwo.

And the sons of Jonathan, Peleth and Zaza. These, were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34 Viŋutsu aɖeke menɔ Sesan si o; vinyɔnuwo koe nɔ esi. Egipte dɔlaŋutsu aɖe nɔ esi; eŋkɔe nye Yarha.

Now Sheshan had, no sons, but, daughters, —and, Sheshan, had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha;

35 Sesan tsɔ via nyɔnu na eƒe dɔlaŋutsu, Yarha, wòɖe eye wodzi Atai.

so Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant, to wife, —and she bare him Attai.

36 Atai dzi Natan, ame si dzi Zabad,

And, Attai, begat Nathan, and, Nathan, begat Zabad;

37 ame si dzi Eflal, ame si dzi Obed,

and, Zabad, begat Ephlal, and, Ephlal, begat Obed;

38 ame si dzi Yehu, ame si dzi Azaria.

and, Obed, begat Jehu, and, Jehu, begat Azariah;

39 Azaria dzi Helez, ame si dzi Eleasa,

and, Azariah, begat Helez, and, Helez, begat Eleasah;

40 ame si dzi Sismai, ame si dzi Salum.

and, Eleasah, begat Sismai, and, Sismai, begat Shallum;

41 Salum dzi Yekamia ame si dzi Elisama.

and, Shallum, begat Jekamiah, and, Jekamiah, begat Elishama.

42 Kaleb, Yerameel nɔvi ƒe vi tsitsitɔe nye Mesa, ame si dzi Zif, ame si dzi Maresa, ame si dzi Hebron.

Now, the sons of Caleb, brother of Jerahmeel, were, Mesha his firstborn, the same, was the father of Ziph, —and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

43 Hebron ƒe viwoe nye Korah, Tapua, Rekem kple Sema.

And, the sons of Hebron, Korah and Tappuah, and Rekem and Shema.

44 Sema dzi Raham ame si dzi Yorkeam. Rekem dzi Samai.

And, Shema, begat Raham, the father of Jorkeam, —and, Rekem, begat Shammai.

45 Samai dzi Maon eye Maon dzi Bet Zur.

And, the son of Shammai, was Maon, —and, Maon, was the father of Beth-zur.

46 Kaleb kple eƒe ahiãvi, Efa, wodzi Haran, Moza kple Gazez. Haran dzi Gazez.

And, Ephah, the concubine of Caleb, bare Haran and Moza, and Gazez, —and, Haran, begat Gazez.

47 Yahdai dzi Regem, Yotam, Gesan, Pelet, Efa kple Saaf.

And, the sons of Jahdai, Regem and Jotham and Geshan and Pelet, and Ephah and Shaaph.

48 Kaleb ƒe ahiãvi, Maaka, dzi Seber kple Tirhana.

A concubine of Caleb, Maacah, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah;

49 Egadzi Saaf, ame si nye Madmana fofo kple Seva, Makbena fofo kple Gibea. Kaleb ƒe vinyɔnue nye Aksa.

she also bare Shaaph, father of Madmannah, Sheva, father of Machbena, and father of Gibea, —and, the daughter of Caleb, was Achsah.

50 Hur, ame si nye Kaleb kple Efrata ƒe vi tsitsitɔ la, dzi Sobal, Kiriat Yearim fofo,

These, were the sons of Caleb, sons of Hur, firstborn of Ephrathah, —Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim;

51 Salma, Betlehem fofo kple Haref, Bet Gader fofo.

Salma, the father of Bethlehem, Hareph, the father of Beth-gader.

52 Sobal ƒe viwoe nye Kiriat Yearim kple Haroe, ame si ƒe dzidzimeviwoe nye Menuhot tɔwo ƒe afã.

And Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons, —Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.

53 Kiriat Yearim ƒe dzidzimeviwoe nye Yatiritɔwo, Putitɔwo, Sumatitɔwo kple Misraitɔwo, ame siwo me Zoratitɔwo kple Estaolitɔwo do tso.

And, the families of Kiriath-jearim, were the Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites, —from these, came the Zorathites, and the Eshtaolites.

54 Salma ƒe viwoe nye: Betlehem, Netofatitɔwo, Atrot Bet Yoab, Manahatitɔwo ƒe afã kple Zoritɔwo,

The sons of Salma, were Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Atrothbeth-joab, —and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites;

55 agbalẽŋlɔlawo ƒe ƒome siwo nɔ Yabez: Tiratitɔwo, Imeatitɔwo kple Sukatitɔwo. Ame siawo katã nye Kenitɔwo eye wodzɔ tso Hamat me, ame si nye Rekab ƒe ƒome la fofo.

and the families of scribes who dwelt at Jabez, the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. The same, are the Kenites who came in from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
