1 Esi ɣeyiɣiawo va le yiyim la, David ɖu Filistitɔwo dzi eye wòbɔbɔ wo ɖe anyi, exɔ Gat kple kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlãe le Filistitɔwo si.
After this it came about that David attacked the Philistines and defeated them. He took Gath and its villages out of the Philistines' control.
2 David ɖu Moabtɔwo hã dzi, wozu etenɔlawo eye woxea adzɔga nɛ.
Then he defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants to David and paid him tribute.
3 Eɖu Zoba fia, Hadadezer ƒe duwo dzi yi Hamat ke le esime wòyi be yeaɖo yeƒe fiaɖuƒe anyi le Frat tɔsisi la to.
David then defeated Hadadezer, king of Zobah at Hamath, as Hadadezer was traveling to establish his rule by the Euphrates River.
4 David lé sɔdola akpe adre kple afɔzɔla akpe blaeve, etu ata na sɔawo katã negbe wo dometɔ alafa ɖeka ko.
David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen. David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for a hundred chariots.
5 Esi Aramtɔwo tso Damasko va be yewoakpe ɖe Zoba fia Hadadezer ŋu la, David wu wo dometɔ akpe blaeve-vɔ-eve
When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand Aramean men.
6 eye wòda asrafo aɖewo ɖe Aram le Damasko, si nye Aramtɔwo ƒe fiadu la me. Ale Aramtɔwo zu David tenɔlawo eye wodzɔa adzɔga nɛ ƒe sia ƒe. Ale Yehowa na David ɖua dzi le afi sia afi si wòyi.
Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became servants to him and brought him tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
7 David tsɔ Fia Hadadezer ƒe aʋakɔwo ƒe amegãwo ƒe sikakpoxɔnuwo va Yerusalem,
David took the golden shields that were on Hadadezer's servants and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 kpe ɖe akɔbli geɖe tso Hadadezer ƒe du siwo nye Teba kple Kun la me la ŋu. Emegbe la, Fia Solomo lolo akɔbli la eye wòtsɔe wɔ gbedoxɔ la ƒe akɔbligazɔ kple akɔblisɔtiwo kple akɔblinu siwo ŋu dɔ wowɔna ne wole vɔ sam le vɔsamlekpui la dzi.
From Tebah and Kun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze. It was with this bronze that Solomon later made the bronze basin called “The Sea,” the pillars, and the bronze equipment.
9 Esime Hamat fia Tou se be Fia David si Zoba fia Hadadezer ƒe aʋakɔ blibo la,
When Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
10 eɖo Via ŋutsu Hadoram ɖe Fia David gbɔ be wòado gbe nɛ, ada ŋkɔ ɖe edzi le eƒe dziɖuɖu ta eye wòatsɔ sika, klosalo kple akɔbli nɛ. Edi be yeawɔ ɖeka kple Fia David elabena eya kple Hadadezer nye futɔwo eye wowɔ aʋa geɖewo.
and so Tou sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him. He did this because David had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, and because Tou had often been at war with Hadadezer. Tou also sent David many different sorts of articles made of gold and silver and bronze.
11 Fia David kɔ nunana siawo kple klosalo kple sika si wòkpɔ tso Edomtɔwo, Moabtɔwo, Amonitɔwo, Amalekitɔwo kple Filistitɔwo gbɔ la ŋu na Yehowa.
King David set these objects apart to Yahweh, together with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations: Edom, Moab, the people of Ammon, the Philistines, and Amalek.
12 Abisai, Zeruya ƒe vi, wu Edomtɔ akpe wuienyi le Dze Balime.
Abishai son of Zeruiah killed eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
13 Eda asrafo aɖewo ɖe Edom eye Edomtɔwo zu David teviwo. Yehowa na wòɖua dzi le afi sia afi si wòayi.
He placed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's servants. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
14 David ɖu Israel blibo la dzi kple dzɔdzɔenyenye eye wòwɔ nyui na ame sia ame.
David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and righteousness to all his people.
15 Yoab, Zeruya ƒe vi, nɔ aʋakɔ la nu. Yehosafat, Ahilud ƒe vi, nye fia ƒe tsiami.
Joab son of Zeruiah was the commander of the army, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder.
16 Zadok, Ahitub ƒe vi kple Ahimelek, Abiata ƒe vi nye nunɔlawo eye Sausa nye fia la ƒe nuŋlɔla.
Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests, and Shavsha was scribe.
17 Benaya, Yehoiada ƒe vi, nɔ Keretitɔwo kple Peletitɔwo, ame siwo nye fia la ŋu dzɔlawo ƒe amegãwo la nu le esime David ƒe viŋutsuwo nye fia la ŋumewo ƒe tatɔwo.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites, and David's sons were the chief officials at the hand of the king.
