1 Azɔ la, Hiram, Tiro fia dɔ dɔlawo ɖo ɖe David. Etsɔ sedatiwo, gliɖolawo kple atikpalawo kpe ɖe wo ŋuti be woatu fiasã nɛ.
Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him.
2 Azɔ David nya nu si ta Mawu ɖoe fiae na Israel eye wòna eƒe fiaɖuƒe keke ta. Nu tɔxɛ aɖe tae, eyae nye be wòado dzidzɔ na Mawu ƒe amewo.
And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
3 Esi David ʋu yi Yerusalem la, egaɖe srɔ̃ aɖewo eye wòdzi viŋutsu kple vinyɔnu geɖewo.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem and became the father of more sons and daughters.
4 Vi siwo wodzi na Fia David le Yerusalem la ƒe ŋkɔwoe nye: Samua, Sobab, Natan, Solomo,
These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5 Ibhar, Elisua, Elpelet,
Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
7 Elisama, Beeliada kple Elifelet.
Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 Esi Filistitɔwo se be David zu Israel fia yeyea la, woƒo ƒu aʋakɔ aɖe nu be yewoayi aɖalée. Ke David se be wogbɔna la, eho yi wo kpe ge.
When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them.
9 Filistitɔwo nɔ nuwo ham le Refaim balime.
Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim.
10 David bia Mawu be, “Mayi aɖawɔ aʋa kpli woa? Ɖe nàtsɔ wo ade asi nama?” Yehowa ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ɛ̃, yi, matsɔ wo ade asi na wò.”
So David inquired of God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 Ale David kple eƒe aʋakɔ la yi ɖadze Filistitɔwo dzi le Baal Perazim eye wòtsrɔ̃ wo. Egblɔ be, “Mawu to dzinye kplɔ nye futɔwo dzoe abe ale si tsi ŋɔna tso tsixaɖoƒe ene!” Esia ta wòna ŋkɔ teƒe la tso ɣe ma ɣi be, “Baal Perazim” si gɔmee nye, “Aƒetɔ si gba go.”
So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.
12 Le aʋakpekpe sia megbe la, Filistitɔwo gblẽ woƒe legbawo ɖe anyi, ke David ɖe gbe eye wotɔ dzo wo katã.
There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.
13 Emegbe la, Filistitɔwo gava kaka ɖe balime la me.
Once again the Philistines raided the valley.
14 David gabia nu si wòawɔ la Mawu eye Mawu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Mègaho dze wo yome me o, ke boŋ trɔ ɖa le wo ŋu eye nàva tu wo le balsamtiawo gbɔ.
So David again inquired of God, who answered him, “Do not march up after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.
15 Ne èse gbeɖiɖi aɖe le atiawo tame abe asrafowoe le azɔli zɔm ene la, ekema nàdze wo dzi elabena esia afia be, Mawu dze ŋgɔ na wò be nàtsrɔ̃ Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋakɔwo.”
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
16 Ale David wɔ nu si Mawu ɖo nɛ eye wòsi Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋakɔ la tso keke Gibeon va se ɖe Gezer.
So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
17 David ƒe ŋkɔ de dzi le afi sia afi eye Yehowa na be dukɔwo katã navɔ̃e.
And David’s fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him.
