1 Seega, ma julgustan teid, mu vennad ja õed, Jumala kaastunde pärast teie suhtes, pühendama Jumalale oma ihu kui elava ohvri, mis on püha ja meelepärane. See on mõistlik jumalateenistus.

Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

And we have different gifts according to the grace that was given to us. If prophecy, according to the proportion of the faith;

if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, in generosity; leading, in diligence; showing mercy, in cheerfulness.

9 Armastus peab olema tõeline. Vihkamine on kurjast; hoidke kõvasti kinni sellest, mis on hea.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; outdo one another in showing honor;

not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

12 Püsige rõõmsameelsed lootuses, mis teil on, taluge raskusi, mis tulevad, jätkake palvetamist.

rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;

13 Võtke osa Jumala rahva vajaduste täitmisest ja võtke võõrad külalislahkelt vastu.

contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.

14 Õnnistage neid, kes teid taga kiusavad − õnnistage neid, ja ärge neid needke.

Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse.

15 Olge rõõmsad koos rõõmsatega, nutke koos nutjatega.

Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.

16 Mõelge üksteise peale. Ärge pidage end teistest tähtsamaks; elage alandlikult. Ärge olge ennast täis.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be arrogant, but associate with the humble. Do not be conceited.

Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all people.

Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for by doing this you will heap coals of fire on his head."
