Rut 1
1 En la tempo, kiam regis la juĝistoj, iam malsato okazis en la lando; kaj foriris viro el Bet-Leĥem en Judujo, por pasloĝi en la lando de Moab; li kaj lia edzino kaj liaj du filoj.
And it cometh to pass, in the days of the judging of the judges, that there is a famine in the land, and there goeth a man from Beth-Lehem-Judah to sojourn in the fields of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
2 La nomo de la viro estis Elimeleĥ, kaj la nomo de lia edzino estis Naomi, kaj la nomoj de liaj du filoj estis Maĥlon kaj Kiljon, Efratanoj el Bet-Leĥem en Judujo. Kaj ili venis sur la kampojn de Moab kaj restis tie.
And the name of the man [is] Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites from Beth-Lehem-Judah; and they come into the fields of Moab, and are there.
3 Elimeleĥ, la edzo de Naomi, mortis; kaj restis ŝi kun siaj du filoj.
And Elimelech husband of Naomi dieth, and she is left, she and her two sons;
4 Ambaŭ edziĝis kun Moabidinoj; la nomo de unu estis Orpa, kaj la nomo de la dua estis Rut; kaj ili loĝis tie ĉirkaŭ dek jaroj.
and they take to them wives, Moabitesses: the name of the one [is] Orpah, and the name of the second Ruth; and they dwell there about ten years.
5 Sed mortis ankaŭ ambaŭ, Maĥlon kaj Kiljon; kaj restis nur la virino sola, senigita je sia edzo kaj siaj du filoj.
And they die also, both of them — Mahlon and Chilion — and the woman is left of her two children and of her husband.
6 Ŝi leviĝis kun siaj bofilinoj, por iri returne el la lando de Moab; ĉar ŝi aŭdis en la lando de Moab, ke la Eternulo rememoris Sian popolon, donante al ĝi panon.
And she riseth, she and her daughters-in-law, and turneth back from the fields of Moab, for she hath heard in the fields of Moab that God hath looked after His people, — to give to them bread.
7 Ŝi eliris el la loko, kie ŝi loĝis, kun siaj du bofilinoj; kaj ili iris sur la vojo, por ke ili revenu al la lando de Jehuda.
And she goeth out from the place where she hath been, and her two daughters-in-law with her, and they go in the way to turn back unto the land of Judah.
8 Naomi diris al siaj du bofilinoj: Iru, kaj revenu ĉiu el vi al la domo de sia patrino; la Eternulo favoru vin tiel same, kiel vi estis favorkoraj al la mortintoj kaj al mi;
And Naomi saith to her two daughters-in-law, 'Go, turn back, each to the house of her mother; Jehovah doth with you kindness as ye have done with the dead, and with me;
9 la Eternulo favoru vin, ke vi trovu ripozon, ĉiu el vi en domo de sia edzo. Ŝi kisis ilin, kaj ili levis sian voĉon kaj ploris.
Jehovah doth grant to you, and find ye rest each in the house of her husband;' and she kisseth them, and they lift up their voice and weep.
10 Kaj ili diris al ŝi: Ni volas iri kun vi al via popolo.
And they say to her, 'Surely with thee we go back to thy people.'
11 Naomi respondis: Iru returne, miaj filinoj; kial do vi irus kun mi? Ĉu ankoraŭ ekzistas filoj en mia utero, ke vi edziniĝu kun ili?
And Naomi saith, 'Turn back, my daughters; why do ye go with me? are there yet to me sons in my bowels that they have been to you for husbands?
12 Revenu, miaj filinoj, foriru; ĉar mi jam estas tro maljuna por edziniĝi kun viro. Eĉ se mi dirus, ke mi havas ankoraŭ esperon, eĉ se mi jam havus edzon hodiaŭ nokte, kaj eĉ se mi naskus filojn:
Turn back, my daughters, go, for I am too aged to be to a husband; though I had said, There is for me hope, also, I have been to-night to a husband, and also I have borne sons:
13 ĉu pri ili vi esperu, ĝis ili plenaĝiĝos? ĉu por ili vi atendu, ne edziniĝante kun viro? Ne, miaj filinoj; estas tre maldolĉe al mi pro vi, ĉar la mano de la Eternulo afliktis min.
for them do ye wait till that they grow up? for them do ye shut yourselves up, not to be to a husband? nay, my daughters, for more bitter to me than to you, for the hand of Jehovah hath gone out against me.'
14 Sed ili levis sian voĉon kaj ploris plue. Kaj Orpa kisis sian bopatrinon, sed Rut aliĝis al ŝi.
And they lift up their voice, and weep again, and Orpah kisseth her mother-in-law, and Ruth hath cleaved to her.
15 Kaj ĉi tiu diris: Jen via bofratino reiris al sia gento kaj al siaj dioj; iru vi ankaŭ returne post via bofratino.
And she saith, 'Lo, thy sister-in-law hath turned back unto her people, and unto her god, turn thou back after thy sister-in-law.'
16 Sed Rut diris: Ne petegu min, ke mi vin forlasu, aŭ ke mi returnu min kaj ĉesu sekvi vin; ĉar kien vi iros, mi ankaŭ iros, kaj kie vi noktos, mi ankaŭ noktos; via popolo ankaŭ estos mia popolo, kaj via Dio estos mia Dio.
And Ruth saith, 'Urge me not to leave thee — to turn back from after thee; for whither thou goest I go, and where thou lodgest I lodge; thy people [is] my people, and thy God my God.
17 Sur la loko, kie vi mortos, mi ankaŭ mortos, kaj tie oni min enterigos. La Eternulo faru al mi tion kaj pli, se io krom la morto disigos min de vi.
Where thou diest I die, and there I am buried; thus doth Jehovah to me, and thus doth He add — for death itself doth part between me and thee.'
18 Kiam Naomi vidis, ke ŝi firme decidis iri kun ŝi, tiam ŝi ĉesis disputi kun ŝi.
And she seeth that she is strengthening herself to go with her, and she ceaseth to speak unto her;
19 Kaj ili ambaŭ iradis, ĝis ili alvenis en Bet-Leĥemon. Kaj kiam ili eniris en Bet-Leĥemon, la tuta loĝantaro de la urbo ekbruis pri ili, dirante: Ĉu tio estas Naomi?
and they go both of them till their coming in to Beth-Lehem; and it cometh to pass at their coming in to Beth-Lehem, that all the city is moved at them, and they say, 'Is this Naomi?'
20 Kaj ŝi respondis al ili: Ne nomu min Naomi, nomu min Mara; ĉar la Plejpotenculo faris al mi maldolĉegon;
And she saith unto them, 'Call me not Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly to me,
21 kun pleneco mi foriris, sed la Eternulo revenigis min malplena; kial do vi nomus min Naomi, konsiderante, ke la Eternulo atestis kontraŭ mi kaj la Plejpotenculo afliktis min?
I went out full, and empty hath Jehovah brought me back, why do ye call me Naomi, and Jehovah hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath done evil to me?'
22 Tiel Naomi revenis, kaj kun ŝi ankaŭ Rut, la Moabidino, ŝia bofilino, kiu revenis el la lando de Moab; kaj ili venis en Bet-Leĥemon je la komenco de la rikolto de hordeo.
And Naomi turneth back, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her, who hath turned back from the fields of Moab, and they have come in to Beth-Lehem at the commencement of barley-harvest.
