1 Vortoj de la reĝo Lemuel, instruo, kiun donis al li lia patrino.
The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.
2 Ho mia filo, ho filo de mia ventro! Ho filo de miaj promesoj!
"Oh, my son. Oh, son of my womb. Oh, son of my vows.
3 Ne donu al la virinoj vian forton, Nek viajn agojn al la pereigantoj de reĝoj.
Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4 Ne al la reĝoj, ho Lemuel, ne al la reĝoj konvenas trinki vinon, Nek al la princoj deziri ebriigaĵojn.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for princes to take strong drink,
5 Ĉar drinkinte, ili povas forgesi la leĝojn, Kaj ili malĝustigos la juĝon de ĉiuj prematoj.
lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
6 Donu ebriigaĵon al la pereanto, Kaj vinon al tiu, kiu havas suferantan animon.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish; and wine to the bitter in soul:
7 Li trinku, kaj forgesu sian malriĉecon, Kaj li ne plu rememoru sian malfeliĉon.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Malfermu vian buŝon por senvoĉulo, Por la defendo de ĉiuj forlasitaj.
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
9 Malfermu vian buŝon, por juĝi juste, Por defendi malriĉulon kaj senhavulon.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
10 Se iu trovis kapablan edzinon, Ŝia valoro estas pli granda ol perloj.
Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.
11 Fidas ŝin la koro de ŝia edzo, Kaj havo ne mankos.
The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
12 Ŝi redonas al li bonon, sed ne malbonon, En la daŭro de ŝia tuta vivo.
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 Ŝi serĉas lanon kaj linon, Kaj volonte laboras per siaj manoj.
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
14 Ŝi estas kiel ŝipo de komercisto; De malproksime ŝi alportas sian panon.
She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15 Ŝi leviĝas, kiam estas ankoraŭ nokto, Kaj ŝi disdonas manĝon al sia domanaro Kaj porciojn al siaj servantinoj;
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
16 Ŝi pensas pri kampo, kaj aĉetas ĝin; Per la enspezoj de sia mano ŝi plantas vinberĝardenon.
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17 Ŝi zonas siajn lumbojn per forto Kaj fortikigas siajn brakojn.
She girds her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
18 Ŝi komprenas, ke ŝia komercado estas bona; Ŝia lumilo ne estingiĝas en la nokto.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn't go out by night.
19 Ŝi etendas sian manon al la ŝpinilo, Kaj ŝiaj fingroj tenas la ŝpinturnilon.
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 Ŝi malfermas sian manon al la malriĉulo Kaj etendas siajn manojn al la senhavulo.
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21 Ŝi ne timas la neĝon por sia domo, Ĉar ŝia tuta domanaro estas vestita per ruĝa teksaĵo.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 Ŝi faras al si kovrojn; Delikata tolo kaj purpuro estas ŝiaj vestoj.
She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Ŝia edzo estas konata ĉe la pordego, Kie li sidas kune kun la maljunuloj de la lando.
Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 Ŝi faras teksaĵon kaj vendas, Kaj zonojn ŝi donas al la komercisto.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Fortika kaj bela estas ŝia vesto, Kaj ŝi ridas pri la venonta tago.
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26 Sian buŝon ŝi malfermas kun saĝo; Bonkora instruo estas sur ŝia lango.
She opens her mouth with wisdom. Faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 Ŝi kontrolas la iradon de aferoj en sia domo, Kaj ŝi ne manĝas panon en senlaboreco.
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn't eat the bread of idleness.
28 Leviĝas ŝiaj filoj kaj ŝin gratulas; Ŝia edzo ŝin laŭdegas, dirante:
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
29 Multaj filinoj estas bravaj, Sed vi superas ĉiujn.
"Many women do noble things, but you excel them all."
30 Ĉarmeco estas trompa, kaj beleco estas vantaĵo; Virino, kiu timas la Eternulon, estos glorata.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Donu al ŝi laŭ la fruktoj de ŝiaj manoj; Kaj ŝiaj faroj ŝin gloros ĉe la pordegoj.
Give her of the fruit of her hands. Let her works praise her in the gates.
