Sentencoj 23
1 Kiam vi sidiĝos, por manĝi kun reganto, Rigardu bone, kio estas antaŭ vi;
If you will sit down to eat with a ruler carefully you will consider [that] which [is] before you.
2 Kaj vi metu tranĉilon al via gorĝo, Se vi estas avidulo.
And you will put a knife in throat your if [are] a master of appetite you.
3 Ne deziru liajn bongustajn manĝojn; Ĉar ĝi estas trompa pano.
May not (you crave *Q(K)*) for dainties his and it [is] food of lies.
4 Ne penu riĉiĝi; Forlasu vian pripensadon.
May not you labor to gain riches from understanding your cease.
5 Ĉu vi direktos viajn okulojn al ĝi? ĝi jam ne ekzistos; Ĉar riĉeco faras al si flugilojn kiel aglo, kaj forflugas al la ĉielo.

15 Mia filo, se via koro estos saĝa, Tiam ĝojos ankaŭ mia koro.
O son my if it is wise heart your it will rejoice heart my also I.
16 Kaj mia internaĵo ĝojos, Kiam viaj lipoj parolos ĝustaĵon.
So they may rejoice kidneys my when speak lips your uprightness.
17 Via koro sin tiru ne al pekuloj, Sed al timo antaŭ la Eternulo ĉiutage.
May not it be jealous heart of your sinners that except in [the] fear of Yahweh all the day.
18 Ĉar ekzistas estonteco, Kaj via espero ne perdiĝos.

19 Aŭskultu vi, mia filo, kaj estu saĝa, Kaj direktu vian koron al la ĝusta vojo.

20 Ne estu inter la drinkantoj de vino, Inter tiuj, kiuj manĝas tro da viando;
May not you be among drunkards of wine among gluttons of meat themselves.
21 Ĉar drinkemulo kaj manĝegemulo malriĉiĝos, Kaj dormemulo havos sur si ĉifonaĵojn.
For a drunkard and a glutton he will become impoverished and rags it will clothe [them] drowsiness.
22 Aŭskultu vian patron, kiu vin naskigis, Kaj ne malŝatu vian patrinon, kiam ŝi maljuniĝos.
Listen to father your who he begot you and may not you despise if she is old mother your.
23 Veron aĉetu, kaj ne vendu saĝon Kaj instruon kaj prudenton.

29 Ĉe kiu estas ploro? ĉe kiu estas ĝemoj? ĉe kiu estas malpaco? Ĉe kiu estas plendoj? ĉe kiu estas senkaŭzaj batoj? Ĉe kiu estas malklaraj okuloj?
[belongs] to Whom? woe [belongs] to whom? woe! [belong] to whom? (contentions *Q(K)*) [belongs] to whom? complaint [belong] to whom? wounds without cause [belongs] to whom? dullness of eyes.
30 Ĉe tiuj, kiuj sidas malfrue ĉe vino, Ĉe tiuj, kiuj venas, por gustumi aroman trinkaĵon.
To [those who] delay over the wine to [those who] go to examine mixed wine.
31 Ne rigardu la vinon, kiel ruĝa ĝi estas, Kiel ĝi brilas en la pokalo, kiel glate ĝi eniras:
May not you see wine for it will be red if it will give (in the cup *Q(K)*) eye its it will go with smoothness.
32 En la fino ĝi mordas kiel serpento Kaj pikas kiel vipuro.
End its like a snake it will bite and like a viper it will sting.
33 Viaj okuloj vidos fremdaĵojn, Kaj via koro parolos malĝustaĵojn.
Eyes your they will see strange [things] and heart your it will speak perverse things.
34 Kaj vi estos kiel dormanto meze de la maro, Kaj kiel dormanto sur la supro de masto.
And you will be like [one who] lies down in [the] heart of [the] sea and like [one who] lies down at [the] top of a mast.
35 Ili batis min, sed ĝi min ne doloris; Ili frapis min, sed mi ne sentis; Kiam mi vekiĝos, mi denove tion serĉos.
They struck me not I am sick they beat me not I know when? will I awake I will repeat I will seek it again.
