Sentencoj 2
1 Mia filo! se vi akceptos miajn parolojn Kaj konservos ĉe vi miajn ordonojn,
Mi sone, if thou resseyuest my wordis, `and hidist myn heestis anentis thee;
2 Ke via orelo atente aŭskultos saĝon Kaj vian koron vi inklinigos al komprenado;
that thin eere here wisdom, bowe thin herte to knowe prudence.
3 Se vi vokos la prudenton Kaj direktos vian voĉon al la saĝo:
For if thou inwardli clepist wisdom, and bowist thin herte to prudence;
4 Se vi serĉos ĝin kiel arĝenton, Serĉegos kiel trezoron:
if thou sekist it as money, and diggist it out as tresours;
5 Tiam vi komprenos la timon antaŭ la Eternulo, Kaj vi akiros konadon pri Dio.
thanne thou schalt vndirstonde the drede of the Lord, and schalt fynde the kunnyng of God.
6 Ĉar la Eternulo donas saĝon; El Lia buŝo venas scio kaj kompreno.
For the Lord yyueth wisdom; and prudence and kunnyng is of his mouth.
7 Li havas helpon por la virtuloj; Li estas ŝildo por tiuj, kiuj vivas pie.
He schal kepe the heelthe of riytful men, and he schal defende hem that goen sympli.
8 Li gardas la iradon de la justo, Kaj zorgas pri la vojo de Siaj piuloj.
And he schal kepe the pathis of riytfulnesse, and he schal kepe the weies of hooli men.
9 Tiam vi komprenos veremon kaj juston Kaj pion kaj ĉiun bonan vojon.
Thanne thou schalt vndirstonde riytfulnesse, and dom, and equytee, and ech good path.
10 Ĉar saĝo venos en vian koron, Kaj scio estos agrabla por via animo.
If wysdom entrith in to thin herte, and kunnyng plesith thi soule,
11 Bona konscio vin gvidos, Prudento vin gardos,
good councel schal kepe thee, and prudence schal kepe thee; that thou be delyuered fro an yuel weie,
12 Por savi vin de la vojo de malbono, De homo, parolanta kontraŭveraĵon,
and fro a man that spekith weiward thingis.
13 De tiuj, kiuj forlasas la ĝustan vojon, Por iri la vojojn de mallumo,
Whiche forsaken a riytful weie, and goen bi derk weies;
14 Kiuj ĝojas, kiam ili faras malbonon, Trovas plezuron en la malordo de la malboneco,
whiche ben glad, whanne thei han do yuel, and maken ful out ioye in worste thingis;
15 Kies vojoj estas malrektaj Kaj kies irado deflankiĝis;
whose weies ben weywerd, and her goyingis ben of yuel fame.
16 Por savi vin de fremda virino, De edzino ne via, kies paroloj estas glataj,
That thou be delyuered fro an alien womman, and fro a straunge womman, that makith soft hir wordis;
17 Kiu forlasas la amikon de sia juneco, Kaj forgesas la ligon de sia Dio;
and forsakith the duyk of hir tyme of mariage,
18 Ĉar ŝia domo kondukas al morto, Kaj ŝiaj paŝoj al la inferuloj;
and hath foryete the couenaunt of hir God. For the hous of hir is bowid to deeth, and hir pathis to helle.
19 Ĉiuj, kiuj eniras al ŝi, ne revenas, Kaj ne reatingas la vojon de la vivo;
Alle that entren to hir, schulen not turne ayen, nether schulen catche the pathis of lijf.
20 Ke vi iru la vojon de bonuloj, Kaj sekvu la paŝosignojn de piuloj.
That thou go in a good weie, and kepe the pathis of iust men.
21 Ĉar la piuloj loĝos sur la tero, Kaj la senpekuloj restos sur ĝi;
Forsothe thei that ben riytful, schulen dwelle in the lond; and symple men schulen perfitli dwelle ther ynne.
22 Sed la malpiuloj estos ekstermitaj de sur la tero, Kaj la maliculoj estos malaperigitaj de tie.
But vnfeithful men schulen be lost fro the loond; and thei that doen wickidli, schulen be takun awey fro it.
