Plorkanto 3
1 Mi estas la viro, kiu spertis suferon sub la vergo de Lia kolero.
I am the man that hath seen affliction under the rod of His wrath;
2 Min Li kondukis kaj irigis en mallumon, ne en lumon.
He hath led me and brought me into darkness, and not into light;
3 Nur sur min Li turnas Sian manon ĉiutage denove.
Yea, against me doth he again and again turn his hand all the day long.
4 Li maljunigis mian karnon kaj haŭton, rompis miajn ostojn.
My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
5 Li konstruis ĉirkaŭ mi, ĉirkaŭis min per maldolĉaĵoj kaj malfacilaĵoj.
He hath builded against me, and encompassed me with bitterness and woe.
6 En mallumon Li lokis min, kiel porĉiamajn mortintojn.
He hath set me in dark places, as those that have long been dead.
7 Li ĉirkaŭbaris min, ke mi ne povu eliri; Li ligis min per pezaj ĉenoj.
He hath hedged me about, so that I cannot get out; he hath made my chain heavy;
8 Kvankam mi krias kaj vokas, Li kovras Siajn orelojn antaŭ mia preĝo.
Yea, when I cry and call aloud, he shutteth out my prayer.
9 Li baris miajn vojojn per hakitaj ŝtonoj; Li kurbigis miajn vojetojn.
He blocketh up my way with hewn stone; he maketh my paths crooked.
10 Li estas por mi kiel urso en embusko, kiel leono en kaŝita loko.
A bear lying in wait hath he been to me, a lion in lurking-places.
11 Li depuŝis min de miaj vojoj, kaj disŝiris min; Li faris min objekto de teruro.
He hath turned aside my ways, and torn me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
12 Li streĉis Sian pafarkon, kaj starigis min kiel celon por Siaj sagoj.
He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 En miajn renojn Li pafis la filojn de Sia sagujo.
He hath caused the sons of his quiver to pierce my reins.
14 Mi fariĝis mokataĵo por mia tuta popolo, ilia ĉiutaga rekantaĵo.
I have been a laughing-stock to all my people, their song all the day.
15 Li satigis min per maldolĉaĵo, trinkoplenigis min per vermuto.
He hath filled me with bitterness; he hath made me drunk with wormwood.
16 Li disrompis miajn dentojn en malgrandajn pecojn, Li enpuŝis min en cindron.
He hath also broken my teeth with gravel-stones; He hath covered me with ashes.
17 Mia animo estas forpuŝita for de paco; bonstaton mi forgesis.
Yea, thou hast removed my soul far from peace; I have forgotten prosperity.
18 Kaj mi diris: Pereis mia forto kaj mia espero al la Eternulo.
And I say, “My confidence and my hope in Jehovah are gone!”
19 La memoro pri mia mizero kaj miaj suferoj estas vermuto kaj galo.
Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall!
20 Konstante rememorante tion, senfortiĝas en mi mia animo.
Yea, thou wilt remember them, for my soul sinketh within me!
21 Sed tion mi respondas al mia koro, kaj tial mi esperas:
This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope;
22 Ĝi estas favorkoreco de la Eternulo, ke ni ne tute pereis; ĉar Lia kompatemeco ne finiĝis,
It is of the mercy of Jehovah that we are not consumed; yea, his compassion faileth not;
23 Sed ĉiumatene ĝi renoviĝas; granda estas Via fideleco.
It is new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
24 Mia parto estas la Eternulo, diras mia animo; tial mi esperas al Li.
Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul, therefore do I hope in him.
25 La Eternulo estas bona por tiuj, kiuj esperas al Li, por la animo, kiu serĉas Lin.
Jehovah is good to them that trust in him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 Bone estas esperi pacience helpon de la Eternulo.
It is good that a man hope, and quietly wait for salvation from Jehovah.
27 Bone estas al la homo, kiu portas jugon en sia juneco;
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth;
28 Li sidas solece kaj silentas, kiam li estas ŝarĝita;
That he sit alone and keep silence, since He layeth it upon him;
29 Li metas sian buŝon en polvon, kredante, ke ekzistas espero;
That he put his mouth in the dust, [[saying to himself, ]] “Perhaps there may be hope!”
30 Li donas sian vangon al tiu, kiu lin batas; li satigas sin per malhonoro.
That he offer his cheek to the smiter; that he be filled with reproach.
31 Ĉar ne por eterne forlasas la Sinjoro;
For the Lord will not cast off forever;
32 Se Li iun suferigas, Li ankaŭ kompatas pro Sia granda favorkoreco;
For though he cause grief, yet doth he have compassion according to his great mercy;
33 Ĉar ne el Sia koro Li sendas mizeron kaj suferon al la homoj.
For he doth not willingly afflict and grieve the children of men.
34 Kiam oni premas sub siaj piedoj ĉiujn malliberulojn de la tero,
Doth one trample under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
35 Kiam oni forklinas la rajton de homo antaŭ la vizaĝo de la Plejaltulo,
Doth he bend the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
36 Kiam oni estas maljusta kontraŭ homo en lia juĝa afero — Ĉu la Sinjoro tion ne vidas?
Doth he subvert a man in his cause, and shall not the Lord behold it?
37 Kiu povas per sia diro atingi, ke io fariĝu, se la Sinjoro tion ne ordonis?
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord hath not commanded?
38 Ĉu ne el la buŝo de la Plejaltulo eliras la decidoj pri malbono kaj pri bono?
Cometh not evil, as well as good, from the mouth of the Most High?
39 Kial murmuras homo vivanta? Ĉiu murmuru kontraŭ siaj pekoj.
Wherefore then murmureth the living man? Let him murmur at his own sin!
40 Ni trarigardu kaj esploru nian konduton, kaj ni revenu al la Eternulo;
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah!
41 Ni levu nian koron kaj niajn manojn al Dio en la ĉielo.
Let us lift up our hearts with our hands to God in the heavens!
42 Ni pekis kaj malobeis, kaj Vi ne pardonis.
We have transgressed; we have rebelled; thou hast not forgiven!
43 Vi kovris Vin per kolero kaj persekutis nin; Vi mortigis, Vi ne kompatis.
Thou hast hidden thyself in anger, and hast pursued us; thou hast slain and hast not spared;
44 Vi kovris Vin per nubo, por ke ne atingu Vin la preĝo.
Thou hast hidden thyself in a cloud, that our prayer may not pass through;
45 Vi faris nin balaindaĵo kaj abomenindaĵo inter la popoloj.
Thou hast made us the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the nations.
46 Malfermegis kontraŭ ni sian buŝon ĉiuj niaj malamikoj.
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us;
47 Teruro kaj pereo trafis nin, ruinigo kaj malfeliĉo.
Terror and the pit have come upon us, desolation and destruction;
48 Torentojn da akvo verŝas mia okulo pri la malfeliĉo de la filino de mia popolo.
Mine eye runneth down with streams of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Mia okulo fluigas kaj ne ĉesas, ne ekzistas por ĝi halto,
Mine eye trickleth down and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
50 Ĝis la Eternulo ekrigardos kaj ekvidos de la ĉielo.
Until Jehovah look down and behold from heaven.
51 Mia okulo suferigas mian animon pri ĉiuj filinoj de mia urbo.
Mine eye is painful to me on account of all the daughters of my city.
52 Senkaŭze ĉasas min kiel birdon miaj malamikoj;
They that are my enemies without cause hunt me down like a bird;
53 Ili pereigas mian vivon en kavo, ili ĵetas sur min ŝtonojn.
They take away my life in the dungeon; they cast a stone upon me;
54 Akvo leviĝis kontraŭ mian kapon, kaj mi diris: Mi tute pereis.
Waters flow over my head; I say, “I am undone!”
55 Mi vokis Vian nomon, ho Eternulo, el la profunda kavo;
I call upon thy name, O Jehovah, from the deep dungeon;
56 Vi aŭdis mian voĉon; ne kovru Vian orelon antaŭ mia vokado pri liberigo.
Hear thou my voice! hide not thine ear from my cry for relief!
57 Vi alproksimiĝis, kiam mi vokis al Vi; Vi diris: Ne timu.
Be near to me, when I call upon thee! Say, “Fear not!”
58 Vi, ho Sinjoro, defendis mian juĝaferon; Vi liberigis mian vivon.
Thou maintainest my cause, O Lord; thou redeemest my life!
59 Vi vidis, ho Eternulo, la maljustaĵon, kiun mi suferas; juĝu mian aferon.
Thou, O Jehovah, seest the wrong done to me; Maintain thou my cause!
60 Vi vidis ilian tutan venĝon, ĉiujn iliajn intencojn kontraŭ mi.
Thou seest all their vengeance, all their devices against me.
61 Vi aŭdis ilian insultadon, ho Eternulo, ĉiujn iliajn intencojn kontraŭ mi,
Thou hearest their reproach, O Jehovah, all their devices against me,
62 La parolojn de tiuj, kiuj leviĝis kontraŭ min, kaj iliajn pensojn kontraŭ mi dum la tuta tago.
The words of my adversaries, and their machinations against me all the day long!
63 Rigardu, kiam ili sidas kaj kiam ili leviĝas; mi ĉiam estas ilia rekantaĵo.
Behold their sitting down and their rising up! I am their song.
64 Redonu al ili repagon, ho Eternulo, laŭ la faroj de iliaj manoj.
Render to them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands!
65 Donu al ili doloron en la koro, sentigu al ili Vian malbenon.
Give them blindness of mind! thy curse be upon them!
66 Persekutu ilin en kolero, kaj ekstermu ilin el sub la ĉielo de la Eternulo.
Pursue them in thine anger, and destroy them from under Jehovah's heaven!
