Ijob 8
1 Kaj ekparolis Bildad, la Ŝuĥano, kaj diris:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
2 Kiel longe vi tiel parolos, Kaj la vortoj de via buŝo estos kiel forta vento?
How long wilt thou speak such things? How long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3 Ĉu Dio falsas la juĝon? Ĉu la Plejpotenculo falsas la justecon?
Will God pervert judgment? Or will the Almighty pervert justice?
4 Se viaj filoj pekis kontraŭ Li, Li forpuŝis ilin pro ilia malbonago.
As thy children sinned against him, He hath given them up to their transgression.
5 Se vi serĉas Dion Kaj petegas la Plejpotenculon,
But if thou wilt seek early to God, And make thy supplication to the Almighty, —
6 Se vi estas pura kaj pia, Li maldormos super vi, Kaj restarigos la bonstaton en via virta loĝejo.
If thou wilt be pure and upright, Surely he will yet arise for thee, And prosper thy righteous habitation;
7 Kaj se via komenco estis malgranda, Via estonteco forte kreskos.
So that thy beginning shall be small, And thy latter end very great.
8 Ĉar demandu la antaŭajn generaciojn, Kaj primeditu tion, kion esploris iliaj patroj;
For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And mark what hath been searched out by their fathers;
9 Ĉar ni estas de hieraŭ, kaj ni nenion scias; Nia vivo sur la tero estas nur ombro.
(For we are of yesterday and know nothing, Since our days upon the earth are but a shadow; )
10 Ili instruos vin, diros al vi, Kaj el sia koro elirigos vortojn.
Will not they instruct thee, and tell thee, And utter words from their understanding?
11 Ĉu povas kreski kano sen malsekeco? Ĉu kreskas junko sen akvo?
“Can the paper-reed grow up without mire? Can the bulrush grow without water?
12 En tia okazo ĝi velksekiĝas pli frue ol ĉiu herbo, Kiam ĝi estas ankoraŭ en sia freŝeco, Kiam ĝi ankoraŭ ne estas detranĉita.
While it is yet in its greenness, and is not cut down, It withereth before any other herb.
13 Tiaj estas la vojoj de ĉiuj, kiuj forgesas Dion; Kaj pereas la espero de hipokritulo,
Such is the fate of all who forget God; So perisheth the hope of the ungodly.
14 Kies fido dehakiĝas, Kaj kies espero estas araneaĵo.
His confidence shall come to nought, And his trust shall prove a spider's web.
15 Li apogas sin al sia domo, sed ne restos staranta; Li ekkaptos ĝin, sed ne povos sin teni.
He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; He shall lay fast hold on it, but it shall not endure.
16 Li estis verda antaŭ la suno, Kaj super lia ĝardeno etendiĝas liaj branĉoj;
He is in full green before the sun, And his branches shoot forth over his garden;
17 Amase plektiĝas liaj radikoj, Inter ŝtonoj ili tenas sin forte;
His roots are entwined about the heap, And he seeth the place of stones;
18 Sed kiam oni elŝiras lin el lia loko, Ĝi malkonfesas lin: Mi vin ne vidis.
When he shall be destroyed from his place, It shall deny him, saying, 'I never saw thee.'
19 Tia estas la ĝojo de lia vivo; Kaj el la tero kreskas aliaj.
Lo! such is the joy of his course! And others shall spring up from his place”
20 Vidu, Dio ne forpuŝas virtulon Kaj ne subtenas la manon de malpiuloj.
Behold, God will not cast away an upright man; Nor will he help the evil-doers.
21 Li plenigos ankoraŭ vian buŝon per rido Kaj viajn lipojn per ĝojkrioj.
While he filleth thy mouth with laughter, And thy lips with gladness,
22 Viaj malamantoj kovriĝos per honto; Sed la tendo de malpiuloj malaperos.
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, And the dwelling-place of the wicked shall come to nought.
