Ijob 5
1 Voku do! ĉu iu respondos al vi? Kaj al kiu el la sanktuloj vi vin turnos?
But call, if any one will listen to you, or if you shall see any of the holy angels.
2 Malsaĝulon mortigas la kolero, Kaj sensenculon pereigas la incitiĝemeco.
For wrath destroys the foolish one, and envy slays him that has gone astray.
3 Mi vidis malsaĝulon, kiu enradikiĝis, Kaj mi malbenis subite lian loĝejon.
And I have seen foolish ones taking root: but suddenly their habitation was devoured.
4 Malproksimaj de savo estos liaj filoj; Oni disbatos ilin ĉe la pordego, Kaj neniu ilin savos.
Let their children be far from safety, and let them be crushed at the doors of vile men, and let there be no deliverer.
5 Lian rikoltaĵon formanĝos malsatulo, El inter la dornoj li ĝin prenos, Kaj soifantoj englutos lian havaĵon.
For what they have collected, the just shall eat; but they shall not be delivered out of calamities: let their strength be utterly exhausted.
6 Ne el la polvo eliras malpiaĵo, Kaj ne el la tero elkreskas malbonago.
For labour can’t by any means come out of the earth, nor shall trouble spring out of the mountains:
7 Sed homo naskiĝas por suferoj, Kiel birdoj por flugado supren.
yet man is born to labour, and [even so] the vulture's young seek the high places.
8 Sed mi min turnus al Dio, Kaj al Li mi transdonus mian aferon;
Nevertheless I will beseech the Lord, and will call upon the Lord, the sovereign of all;
9 Al Tiu, kiu faras grandaĵojn, kiujn neniu povas esplori, Mirindaĵojn, kiujn neniu povas kalkuli;
who does great things and untraceable, glorious things also, and marvellous, of which there is no number:
10 Kiu donas pluvon sur la teron Kaj sendas akvon sur la kampojn,
who gives rain upon the earth, sending water on the earth:
11 Por starigi malaltulojn alte, Ke la afliktitoj leviĝu savite.
who exalts the lowly, and raises up them that are lost:
12 Li detruas la intencojn de ruzuloj, Ke iliaj manoj ne plenumas sian entreprenon.
frustrating the counsels of the crafty, and their hands shall not perform the truth:
13 Li kaptas la saĝulojn per ilia ruzaĵo; Kaj la decido de maliculoj fariĝas senvalora.
who takes the wise in their wisdom, and subverts the counsel of the crafty
14 En la tago ili renkontas mallumon, Kaj en tagmezo ili palpas, kiel en nokto.
In the day darkness shall come upon them, and let them grope in the noon-day even as in the night:
15 Li savas kontraŭ glavo, Kontraŭ la buŝo kaj mano de potenculo Li savas malriĉulon.
and let them perish in war, and let the weak escape from the hand of the mighty.
16 Al la senhavulo aperas espero, Kaj la malboneco fermas sian buŝon.
And let the weak have hope, but the mouth of the unjust be stopped.
17 Feliĉa estas la homo, kiun punas Dio; Kaj la moralinstruon de la Plejpotenculo ne malŝatu;
But blessed [is] the man whom the Lord has reproved; and reject not you the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Ĉar Li vundas, sed ankaŭ bandaĝas; Li batas, sed Liaj manoj ankaŭ resanigas.
for he causes [a man] to be in pain, and restores [him] again: he smites, and his hands heal.
19 En ses malfeliĉoj Li vin savos; En la sepa ne tuŝos vin la malbono.
Six time he shall deliver you out of distresses: and in the seventh harm shall not touch you.
20 En tempo de malsato Li savos vin de la morto, Kaj en milito el la mano de glavo.
In famine he shall deliver you from death: and in war he shall free you from the power of the sword.
21 Kontraŭ la vipo de lango vi estos kaŝita; Kaj vi ne timos ruinigon, kiam ĝi venos.
He shall hide you from the scourge of the tongue: and you shall not be afraid of coming evils.
22 Dum ruinigo kaj malsato vi ridos; Kaj la bestojn de la tero vi ne timos;
You shall laugh at the unrighteous and the lawless: and you shall not be afraid of wild beasts.
23 Ĉar kun la ŝtonoj de la kampo vi havos interligon, Kaj la bestoj de la kampo havos pacon kun vi.
For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
24 Kaj vi ekscios, ke paco estas en via tendo; Vi esploros vian loĝejon, kaj nenio mankos.
Then shall you know that your house shall be at peace, and the provision for your tabernacle shall not fail.
25 Kaj vi ekscios, ke grandnombra estas via idaro Kaj via naskitaro estas kiel la herbo de la tero.
And you shall know that your seed [shall be] abundant; and your children shall be like the herbage of the field.
26 En maljuneco vi iros en la tombon, Kiel envenas garbaro en sia tempo.
And you shall come to the grave like ripe corn reaped in its season, or as a heap of the corn-flour collected in proper time.
27 Vidu, ni tion esploris, kaj tiel ĝi estas; Atentu tion, kaj sciu tion.
Behold, we have thus sought out these matters; these are what we have heard: but do you reflect with yourself, if you have done anything [wrong].
