Ijob 34

1 Elihu parolis plue, kaj diris:

Moreover Elihu answered and said:

2 Aŭskultu, saĝuloj, miajn vortojn; Kaj vi, kompetentuloj, atentu min.

Hear my words, ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

3 Ĉar la orelo esploras la parolon, Kiel la palato gustumas la manĝaĵon.

For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.

4 Decidon ni elektu al ni; Ni esploru inter ni, kio estas bona.

Let us choose for us that which is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.

5 Ĉar Ijob diris: Mi estas prava, Sed Dio forigis mian rajton;

For Job hath said: 'I am righteous, and God hath taken away my right;

6 En mia juĝa afero mi estas refutata; Turmentas min mia sago, kvankam mi estas senkulpa.

Notwithstanding my right I am accounted a liar; my wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.'

7 Kiu homo estas simila al Ijob, Kiu trinkas mokojn kiel akvon?

What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?

8 Kaj li estas preta aliĝi al malbonaguloj Kaj iri kun malpiuloj;

Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

9 Ĉar li diras: Homo ne havas utilon, Se li serĉas favoron de Dio.

For he hath said: 'It profiteth a man nothing that he should be in accord with God.'

10 Tial aŭskultu min, ho saĝaj homoj: Dio estas malproksima de malbonagoj, Kaj la Plejpotenculo estas malproksima de maljusteco;

Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be it from God, that He should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that He should commit iniquity.

11 Sed Li repagas al homo laŭ liaj agoj, Kaj laŭ la vojo de ĉiu Li renkontas lin.

For the work of a man will He requite unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

12 Vere, Dio ne malbonagas, Kaj la Plejpotenculo ne kurbigas la veron.

Yea, of a surety, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.

13 Kiu komisiis al Li la teron? Kaj kiu starigis Lin super la tuta mondo?

Who gave Him a charge over the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world?

14 Se Li pensus nur pri Si, Se Li prenus al Si Sian spiriton kaj spiron,

If He set His heart upon man, if He gather unto Himself his spirit and his breath;

15 Tiam pereus absolute ĉiu karno, Kaj homo refariĝus polvo.

All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return unto dust.

16 Se vi havas prudenton, aŭskultu ĉi tion; Atentu la voĉon de miaj paroloj.

If now thou hast understanding, hear this; hearken to the voice of my words.

17 Ĉu povas regi malamanto de justeco? Ĉu vi povas akuzi la Plejjustulon?

Shall even one that hateth right govern? And wilt thou condemn Him that is just and mighty —

18 Ĉu oni povas diris al reĝo: Sentaŭgulo; Aŭ al altranguloj: Malpiulo?

Is it fit to say to a king: 'Thou art base'? Or to nobles: 'Ye are wicked'? —

19 Sed Li ne atentas la vizaĝon de princoj, Kaj ne preferas riĉulon antaŭ malriĉulo; Ĉar ĉiuj estas faritaĵo de Liaj manoj.

That respecteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of His hands.

20 Momente ili mortas, noktomeze ili tumultiĝas kaj malaperas; Ne de homa mano estas forigataj la potenculoj.

In a moment they die, even at midnight; the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away without hand.

21 Ĉar Liaj okuloj estas super la vojoj de homo, Kaj ĉiujn liajn paŝojn Li vidas.

For His eyes are upon the ways of a man, and He seeth all his goings.

22 Ne ekzistas mallumo nek ombrego, Kie povus sin kaŝi malbonaguloj.

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

23 Li ne bezonas multe klopodi kun homo, Ke li iru al Dio por juĝo.

For He doth not appoint a time unto any man, when he should go before God in judgment.

24 Li pereigas la fortulojn sennombre Kaj starigas sur ilia loko aliajn;

He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquisition, and setteth others in their stead.

25 Ĉar Li scias iliajn farojn; Li renversas ilin en la nokto, kaj ili frakasiĝas.

Therefore He taketh knowledge of their works; and He overturneth them in the night, so that they are crushed.

26 Kiel malpiulojn Li frapas ilin sur loko, kie ĉiuj vidas;

He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

27 Pro tio, ke ili forturniĝis de Li Kaj ne penis kompreni ĉiujn Liajn vojojn,

Because they turned aside from following Him, and would not have regard to any of His ways;

28 Sed venigis al Li la kriadon de malriĉulo, Kaj Li aŭdis la kriadon de mizeruloj.

So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto Him, and He heareth the cry of the afflicted.

29 Se Li kvietigas, tiam kiu povas ribeligi? Se Li kaŝas Sian vizaĝon, tiam kiu povas Lin vidi? Tiel estas egale kun nacio kaj kun aparta homo,

When He giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when He hideth His face, who then can behold Him? whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man, alike;

30 Por ke ne regu homo hipokrita, El la pekigantoj de popolo.

That the godless man reign not, that there be none to ensnare the people.

31 Al Dio oni devas diri: Mi fieriĝis, mi ne plu faros malbonon;

For hath any said unto God: 'I have borne chastisement, though I offend not;

32 Kion mi ne vidas, pri tio instruu min; Se mi faris maljustaĵon, mi ne plu faros.

That which I see not teach Thou me; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?

33 Ĉu konforme al via opinio Li devas repagi? Al vi ja ne plaĉis. Vi elektu, ne mi; Kaj kion vi scias, tion diru.

Shall His recompense be as thou wilt? For thou loathest it, so that thou must choose, and not I; therefore speak what thou knowest.

34 Saĝaj homoj diros al mi, Kaj prudenta homo, kiu min aŭskultas:

Men of understanding will say unto me, yea, every wise man that heareth me:

35 Ijob parolas malsaĝe, Kaj liaj vortoj estas malprudentaj.

'Job speaketh without knowledge, and his words are without discernment.'

36 Ho, se Ijob estus elprovita ĝis la fino, Pro tio, ke li aliĝas al homoj pekaj;

Would that Job were tried unto the end, because of his answering like wicked men.

37 Ĉar al sia peko li aldonas blasfemon; Inter ni li mokas, kaj multe parolas kontraŭ Dio.

For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
