Ijob 17

1 Mia spirito senfortiĝis, miaj tagoj mallongiĝis, Tomboj estas antaŭ mi.

I perish, carried away by the wind, and I seek for burial, and obtain [it] not.

2 Mokado min ĉirkaŭas; En aflikto pro tio restas mia okulo.

Weary I entreat; and what have I done? and strangers have stolen my goods.

3 Estu Vi mem mia garantianto antaŭ Vi; Alie kiu donos la manon pro mi?

Who is this? let him join hands with me.

4 Ĉar ilian koron Vi kovris kontraŭ prudento; Tial Vi ne donos al ili triumfon.

For you have hid their heart from wisdom; therefore you shall not exalt them.

5 Se iu fanfaronas antaŭ siaj amikoj pri sia parto, La okuloj de liaj infanoj konsumiĝos.

He shall promise mischief to [his] companions: but [their] eyes have failed for [their] children.

6 Li faris min proverbo por la popoloj; Kaj mi fariĝis homo, al kiu oni kraĉas en la vizaĝon.

But you has made me a byword amount the nations, and I am become a scorn to them.

7 Mia okulo mallumiĝis de ĉagreno, Kaj ĉiuj miaj membroj fariĝis kiel ombro.

For my eyes are dimmed through pain; I have been grievously beset by all.

8 La justuloj eksentos teruron pro tio, Kaj la senkulpulo ekscitiĝos kontraŭ la hipokritulo.

Wonder has seized true men upon this; and let the just rise up against the transgressor.

9 Tamen la virtulo forte konservos sian vojon, Kaj la purmanulo pli firmiĝos.

But let the faithful hold on his own way, and let him that is pure of hands take courage.

10 Kaj kiom ajn vi ĉiuj revenos, Mi ne trovos inter vi saĝulon.

Howbeit, do you all strengthen [yourselves] and come now, for I do not find truth in you.

11 Miaj tagoj forpasis, pereis miaj intencoj, Kiujn havis mia koro.

My days have passed in groaning, and my heart-strings are broken.

12 La nokton ili volas fari tago, La lumon alproksimigi al la mallumo.

I have turned the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

13 Se mi atendas, tamen Ŝeol estas mia domo, En la mallumo estas pretigita mia lito. (Sheol h7585)

For if I remain, Hades is my habitation: and my bed has been made in darkness. (Sheol h7585)

14 Al la kavo mi diras: Vi estas mia patro; La vermojn mi nomas mia patrino kaj mia fratino.

I have called upon death to be my father, and corruption [to be] my mother and sister.

15 Kion mi devas atendi? Kiu atentos mian esperon?

Where then is yet my hope? or [where] shall I see my good?

16 En la profundon de Ŝeol ĝi malsupreniros, Ni ambaŭ kune kuŝos en la polvo. (Sheol h7585)

Will they go down with me to Hades, or shall we go down together to the tomb? (Sheol h7585)
