Jeremia 8
1 En tiu tempo, diras la Eternulo, oni elĵetos el iliaj tomboj la ostojn de la reĝoj de Judujo kaj la ostojn de ĝiaj princoj kaj la ostojn de la pastroj kaj la ostojn de la profetoj kaj la ostojn de la loĝantoj de Jerusalem;
At that time, Declareth Yahweh, Shall they bring forth, The bones of the kings of Judah, and The bones of his princes, and The bones of the priests, and The bones of the prophets, and The bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,
2 kaj oni disĵetos ilin antaŭ la suno kaj antaŭ la luno kaj antaŭ la tuta armeo de la ĉielo, kiujn ili amis, al kiuj ili servis, kiujn ili sekvis, kiujn ili serĉis, kaj al kiuj ili adorkliniĝis; oni ne kolektos ilin kaj ne enterigos ilin, sed ili estos kiel sterko sur la supraĵo de la tero.
And shall spread them out—To the sun, and To the moon, and To all the host of the heavens, Whom they have loved, And whom they have served, And after whom they have walked, And whom they have sought, And to whom they have bowed themselves down, —They shall not be gathered, Neither shall they be buried, As heaps of dung on the face of the ground, shall they be.
3 Kaj preferos la morton ol la vivon ĉiuj restintoj, kiuj restos el tiu malbona gento, kiuj restos en ĉiuj lokoj, sur kiujn Mi dispelis ilin, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
Then shall, death, be chosen rather than life, by all the remnant of them that remain, of this wicked family, —in all the places, whither I have driven them, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
4 Kaj diru al ili: Tiele diras la Eternulo: Ĉu se oni falis, oni ne leviĝas? ĉu se oni devojiĝis, oni ne volas reveni?
Therefore shalt thou say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh, Will men fall and not arise? Will one turn away, and not come back?
5 Kial do ĉi tiu popolo en Jerusalem defalis per defalo obstina? ili forte sin tenas je la malveraĵo kaj ne volas sin konverti.
Wherefore hath this people of Jerusalem apostatized with an enduring apostacy, —Taken fast hold of deceit, Refused to come back?
6 Mi atentis kaj aŭskultis, sed ili parolas nenion ĝustan; neniu pentas sian malbonecon, dirante: Kion mi faris? Ĉiu fordonis sin al sia kurado, kiel ĉevalo, kiu flugrapide kuras en la batalon.
I hearkened and heard—Not aright, did they speak, —Not a man, repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done! They have every one, turned to their course again, Like a horse sweeping on through the battle.
7 Eĉ cikonio sub la ĉielo scias sian tempon, turto, hirundo, kaj gruo observas la tempon, kiam ili devas veni; sed Mia popolo ne scias la leĝon de la Eternulo.
Even the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times, And the turtle and the swallow and the crane, observe the season for coming; But my people know not the just sentence of Yahweh.
8 Kiel vi diras: Ni estas saĝuloj, kaj ni havas antaŭ ni la instruon de la Eternulo? Ĝi fariĝis ja mensogaĵo per la mensoga skribilo de la skribistoj.
How can ye say, Wise, are, we, And the law of Yahweh, is with us? But indeed lo! falsely, hath dealt the false pen of the scribes!
9 Per honto kovris sin la saĝuloj, konfuziĝis kaj implikiĝis; jen ili forrifuzis la vorton de la Eternulo, kian do saĝecon ili havas?
Ashamed are the wise, dismayed and captured! Lo! the word of Yahweh, have they rejected, And, what wisdom, have, they?
10 Tial Mi fordonos iliajn edzinojn al aliuloj, iliajn kampojn al venkintoj; ĉar de malgrandulo ĝis grandulo ili ĉiuj estas profitavidaj, de profeto ĝis pastro ili ĉiuj faras malhonestaĵon.
Therefore, will I give—Their wives to others, Their fields to such as shall take possession of them, For from the least, even unto the greatest, Every one, is, wholly given to extortion: From the prophet even unto the priest, Every one, dealeth, falsely.
11 Kaj la vundojn de la filino de Mia popolo ili kuracas per facilanimigo, dirante, ke ĉio estas en bona stato, kvankam ne estas bona stato.
And so they have healed the grievous wound of the daughter of my people, slightly, —Saying, Peace! peace! when there was no peace!
12 Ĉu ili hontas, ke ili faras abomenindaĵon? ili tute ne hontas, ili eĉ ne povoscias ruĝiĝi; tial ili falos inter la falantoj, ili renversiĝos, kiam Mi vizitos ilin, diras la Eternulo.
Were they led to turn pale because an abominable thing, they had done? Nay! they did not, at all turn pale Nay! they did not so much as know how to exhibit shame! Therefore, shall they fall among them who are falling, In the time when they are punished, shall they be overthrown, Saith Yahweh:
13 Mi plene ŝirkolektos ilin, diras la Eternulo; ne restos beroj sur la vinberbranĉo nek figoj sur la figarbo, kaj la folioj forvelkos, kaj Mi donos al ili plenan pereon.
I will, surely remove, them, declareth Yahweh: There shall be no grapes on the vine Nor figs on the fig-tree, Even the leaf, hath faded, Though I have given them these things, they shall pass away from them.
14 Por kio ni sidas? kolektiĝu, kaj ni iru en la fortikigitajn urbojn, kaj ni tie pereu; ĉar la Eternulo, nia Dio, pereigas nin kaj trinkigas al ni akvon maldolĉan pro tio, ke ni pekis antaŭ la Eternulo.
Why are, we, sitting still? Gather yourselves together and let us enter the defenced cities And let us be silent there, —For, Yahweh our God, hath put us to silence And made us drink poisoned water, Because we have sinned against Yahweh.
15 Ni esperis pacon, sed venas nenio bona; ni esperis tempon de resaniĝo, sed jen estas teruro.
A waiting For prosperity, but no welfare, —For a time of healing, but lo! terror.
16 El la regiono de Dan oni aŭdas spiregadon de iliaj ĉevaloj; de la blekegado de iliaj fortaj ĉevaloj tremas la tuta tero; ili iras, kaj ili formanĝos la teron, kaj tion, kio estas sur ĝi, la urbon kaj ĝiajn loĝantojn.
From Dan, was heard the snorting of his horses At the sound of the neighing of his chargers, the whole land trembled, —Yea they came in and did sat up The land and the fulness thereof, The city, and them who were dwelling therein.
17 Ĉar jen Mi sendos sur vin serpentojn, vipurojn, kiujn oni ne povas sorĉligi, kaj ili pikos vin, diras la Eternulo.
For behold me! sending among you serpents—vipers which there is no charming, —And they shall fatally bite you declareth Yahweh.
18 Mia malĝojo estas super ĉiuj malĝojoj, mia koro en mi doloras.
When I would have cheered myself against sorrow, Against me, mine own heart sickened: —
19 Jen mi aŭdas kriadon de la filino de mia popolo el lando malproksima: Ĉu jam ne ekzistas la Eternulo en Cion? ĉu ĝia Reĝo ne estas en ĝi? Sed kial ili kolerigis min per siaj idoloj, per fremdaj vantaĵoj?
Lo! the voice of the cry for help of the daughter of my people from a land far away, Is, Yahweh, not in Zion? Is, her King, not within her? Why, have they provoked me with their carved images, with their foreign vanities?
20 Pasis la rikolto, finiĝis la somero, sed ni ne ricevis helpon.
The harvest is passed, The fruit-gathering, is ended; And we are not saved!
21 La malfeliĉo de mia popolo min afliktas, mi malĝojas, mi sentas teruron.
For the grievous injury of the daughter of my people, I am grievously injured, —I am enshrouded in gloom, Horror, hath seized me: —
22 Ĉu ne ekzistas balzamo en Gilead? ĉu ne ekzistas tie kuracisto? kial do ne venas resaniĝo al la filino de mia popolo?
Balsam, is there none, in Gilead? Is there no physician, there? Why hath not appeared the healing of the daughter of my people?
