Jeremia 47
1 Jen estas la vorto de la Eternulo, kiu aperis al la profeto Jeremia pri la Filiŝtoj, antaŭ ol Faraono venkobatis Gazan:
The word of Jehovah which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh had smitten Gaza.
2 Tiele diras la Eternulo: Jen venos akvo de norde, kaj ĝi fariĝos inundanta torento, kaj ĝi inundos la landon, kaj ĉion, kio estas en ĝi, la urbon kaj ĝiajn loĝantojn; ekkrios la homoj, kaj ekploregos ĉiuj loĝantoj de la lando.
Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the North, And they shall become an overflowing torrent, And shall overflow the land, and all that is therein, —The city, and them that dwell therein; And the men shall cry aloud, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
3 Pro la sonado de la hufoj de la fortaj ĉevaloj, pro la bruo de la ĉaroj, pro la bruego de la radoj la patroj ne atentos siajn infanojn, senforte malleviĝos iliaj manoj;
At the noise of the stamping of the horses, At the rattling of his chariots, And at the rumbling of his wheels, Fathers look not back for their children, For feebleness of hands,
4 pro la tago, kiu venos, kiam oni prirabos ĉiujn Filiŝtojn, ekstermos ĉe Tiro kaj Cidon ĉiujn restintajn helpantojn; ĉar la Eternulo ruinigos la Filiŝtojn, la restaĵon de la insulo Kaftor.
Because of the day which cometh, To lay waste all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and from Sidon Every helper that remaineth. For Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 Kalveco trafos Gazan, pereos Aŝkelon kaj la restaĵo de ilia valo. Kiel longe ankoraŭ vi faros al vi tranĉojn?
Baldness is come upon Gaza, Askelon is in ruins, And the remnant of their valley! How long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 Ho glavo de la Eternulo, kiel longe vi ne kvietiĝos? eniru en vian ingon, haltu kaj silentu.
Ah! sword of Jehovah, How long ere thou wilt be quiet? Retire into thy scabbard, Rest, and be still!
7 Sed kiel vi povas kvietiĝi? la Eternulo donis al ĝi ordonon kontraŭ Aŝkelon kaj kontraŭ la bordo de la maro; tien Li destinis ĝin.
But how canst thou be at rest, Since Jehovah hath given thee a charge against Askelon, And against the coast of the sea? There hath he appointed it.
