Jeremia 38

1 Ŝefatja, filo de Matan, Gedalja, filo de Paŝĥur, Juĥal, filo de Ŝelemja, kaj Paŝĥur, filo de Malkija, aŭdis la vortojn, kiujn Jeremia parolis al la tuta popolo, dirante:

Then Shephatiah the sonne of Mattan, and Gedaliah the sonne of Pashur, and Iucal the sonne of Shelemiah, and Pashur the sonne of Malchiah, heard the wordes that Ieremiah had spoken vnto all the people, saying,

2 Tiele diras la Eternulo: Kiu restos en ĉi tiu urbo, tiu mortos de glavo, de malsato, aŭ de pesto; sed kiu eliros al la Ĥaldeoj, tiu restos vivanta, lia animo estos lia akiro, kaj li vivos.

Thus sayth the Lord, He that remaineth in this citie, shall dye by the sworde, by the famine and by the pestilence: but hee that goeth foorth to the Caldeans, shall liue: for he shall haue his life for a praye, and shall liue.

3 Tiele diras la Eternulo: Ĉi tiu urbo estos transdonita en la manojn de la militistaro de la reĝo de Babel, kaj li venkoprenos ĝin.

Thus sayth the Lord, This citie shall surely be giuen into the hand of the King of Babels armie, which shall take it.

4 Tiam la eminentuloj diris al la reĝo: Oni devas mortigi ĉi tiun homon, ĉar li senfortigas la manojn de la militistoj, kiuj restis en ĉi tiu urbo, kaj la manojn de la tuta popolo, parolante al ili tiajn vortojn; ĉar ĉi tiu homo deziras al ĉi tiu popolo ne pacon, sed nur malbonon.

Therefore the Princes sayd vnto the King, We beseech you, let this man be put to death: for thus hee weakeneth the hands of the men of warre that remaine in this citie, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such wordes vnto them: for this man seeketh not the wealth of this people, but the hurt.

5 Kaj la reĝo Cidkija diris: Jen li estas en viaj manoj, ĉar la reĝo nenion povas fari kontraŭ via volo.

Then Zedekiah the King sayd, Behold, he is in your hands, for ye King can denie you nothing.

6 Tiam ili prenis Jeremian, kaj ĵetis lin en la kavon de Malkija, filo de la reĝo, kiu troviĝis sur la korto de la malliberejo, kaj oni mallevis Jeremian per ŝnuroj; en la kavo ne estis akvo, sed nur ŝlimo, kaj Jeremia eniĝis en la ŝlimon.

Then tooke they Ieremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the sonne of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let downe Ieremiah with coards: and in the dungeon there was no water but myre: so Ieremiah stacke fast in the myre.

7 Kaj Ebed-Meleĥ, Etiopo, eŭnuko, kiu estis en la domo de la reĝo, aŭdis, ke oni ĵetis Jeremian en la kavon; la reĝo tiam sidis ĉe la Pordejo de Benjamen.

Now when Ebed-melech ye blacke More one of ye Eunuches, which was in the kings house, heard that they had put Ieremiah in the dungeon (then the King sate in the gate of Beniamin)

8 Tiam Ebed-Meleĥ eliris el la domo de la reĝo, kaj ekparolis al la reĝo, dirante:

And Ebed-melech went out of the Kings house, and spake to the King, saying,

9 Mia sinjoro, ho reĝo! malbone agis tiuj homoj, ke ili tion faris al la profeto Jeremia, ke ili ĵetis lin en la kavon: li mortos tie de malsato, ĉar jam en ekzistas pano en la urbo.

My lorde the King, these men haue done euill in all that they haue done to Ieremiah the Prophet, whom they haue cast into the dungeon, and he dyeth for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the citie.

10 Tiam la reĝo ordonis al la Etiopo Ebed-Meleĥ, dirante: Prenu kun vi de ĉi tie tridek homojn, kaj eltiru la profeton Jeremia el la kavo, antaŭ ol li mortos.

Then the King commanded Ebed-melech the blacke More, saying, Take from hence thirtie men with thee, and take Ieremiah the Prophet out of the dungeon before he dye.

11 Kaj Ebed-Meleĥ prenis kun si la homojn kaj iris en la domon de la reĝo sub la trezorejon, kaj prenis de tie malnovajn kaj eluzitajn ĉifonojn kaj mallevis ilin per ŝnuroj al Jeremia en la kavon.

So Ebed-melech tooke the men with him and went to the house of the King vnder the treasurie, and tooke there olde rotten ragges, and olde worne cloutes, and let them downe by coards into the dungeon to Ieremiah.

12 Kaj la Etiopo Ebed-Meleĥ diris al Jeremia: Metu la eluzitajn ĉifonojn sub viajn akselojn sub la ŝnurojn; kaj Jeremia tiel faris.

And Ebed-melech the blacke More sayde vnto Ieremiah, Put now these olde rotten ragges and worne, vnder thine arme holes, betweene the coards. And Ieremiah did so.

13 Kaj oni ektiris Jeremian per la ŝnuroj kaj eltiris lin el la kavo; kaj Jeremia restis sur la korto de la malliberejo.

So they drewe vp Ieremiah with coards and tooke him vp out of the dungeon, and Ieremiah remained in the court of the prison.

14 Kaj la reĝo Cidkija sendis, kaj venigis la profeton Jeremia al si, al la tria enirejo de la domo de la Eternulo; kaj la reĝo diris al Jeremia: Mi demandos de vi ion, kaŝu antaŭ mi nenion.

Then Zedekiah the King sent, and tooke Ieremiah the Prophet vnto him, into the thirde entrie that is in the House of the Lord, and the King sayd vnto Ieremiah, I wil aske thee a thing: hide nothing from me.

15 Kaj Jeremia diris al Cidkija: Se mi diros al vi, vi ja mortigos min; kaj se mi donos al vi konsilon, vi ja ne obeos min.

Then Ieremiah sayd to Zedekiah, If I declare it vnto thee, wilt not thou slay me? and if I giue thee counsell, thou wilt not heare me.

16 Tiam la reĝo Cidkija sekrete ĵuris al Jeremia, dirante: Mi ĵuras per la Eternulo, kiu kreis al ni ĉi tiun animon, ke mi ne mortigos vin, kaj ne transdonos vin en la manojn de tiuj homoj, kiuj celas vian morton.

So the King sware secretly vnto Ieremiah, saying, As the Lord liueth that made vs these soules, I will not slay thee, nor giue thee into the hands of those men that seeke thy life.

17 Kaj Jeremia diris al Cidkija: Tiele diras la Eternulo, Dio Cebaot, Dio de Izrael: Se vi eliros al la eminentuloj de la reĝo de Babel, via animo restos vivanta, kaj ĉi tiu urbo ne estos forbruligita per fajro, kaj vi kaj via domo vivos;

Then sayd Ieremiah vnto Zedekiah, Thus sayth the Lord God of hostes, the God of Israel, If thou wilt goe foorth vnto the King of Babels princes, then thy soule shall liue, and this citie shall not be burnt vp with fire, and thou shalt liue, and thine house.

18 sed se vi ne eliros al la eminentuloj de la reĝo de Babel, tiam ĉi tiu urbo estos transdonita en la manojn de la Ĥaldeoj, kaj ili forbruligos ĝin per fajro, kaj vi ne saviĝos el iliaj manoj.

But if thou wilt not go forth to the King of Babels princes, then shall this citie be giuen into the hand of ye Caldeans, and they shall burne it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hands.

19 Kaj la reĝo Cidkija diris al Jeremia: Mi timas la Judojn, kiuj transkuris al la Ĥaldeoj, ke oni ne transdonu min en iliajn manojn, por ke ili mokturmentu min.

And Zedekiah the King sayde vnto Ieremiah, I am carefull for the Iewes that are fled vnto the Caldeans, least they deliuer mee into their hands, and they mocke me.

20 Tiam Jeremia diris: Oni ne transdonos vin; aŭskultu la voĉon de la Eternulo pri tio, kion mi diras al vi; tiam estos bone al vi, kaj via animo restos vivanta.

But Ieremiah sayd, They shall not deliuer thee: hearken vnto the voyce of the Lord, I beseech thee, which I speake vnto thee: so shall it be well vnto thee, and thy soule shall liue.

21 Sed se vi ne volos eliri, en tia okazo jen estas tio, kion la Eternulo vidigis al mi:

But if thou wilt refuse to go forth, this is the worde that the Lord hath shewed me.

22 Jen ĉiuj virinoj, kiuj restis en la domo de la reĝo de Judujo, estos elkondukitaj al la eminentuloj de la reĝo de Babel, kaj ili diros: Viaj konsolantoj forlogis vin kaj superfortis vin; viaj piedoj enprofundiĝis en koton, kaj tiuj foriĝis de vi.

And beholde, all the women that are left in the King of Iudahs house, shalbe brought forth to the King of Babels princes: and those women shall say, Thy friends haue perswaded thee, and haue preuailed against thee: thy feete are fastened in the myre, and they are turned backe.

23 Kaj ĉiujn viajn edzinojn kaj viajn filojn oni forkondukos al la Ĥaldeoj, kaj vi ne saviĝos el iliaj manoj; vi estos kaptita en la manojn de la reĝo de Babel, kaj ĉi tiu urbo estos forbruligita per fajro.

So they shall bring out all thy wiues, and thy children to the Caldeans, and thou shalt not escape out of their hands, but shalt be taken by the hand of the King of Babel: and this citie shalt thou cause to be burnt with fire.

24 Kaj Cidkija diris al Jeremia: Neniu devas scii tiujn vortojn, alie vi mortos.

Then said Zedekiah vnto Ieremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

25 Se la eminentuloj aŭdos, ke mi parolis kun vi, kaj ili venos al vi, kaj diros al vi: Sciigu al ni, kion vi diris al la reĝo, ne kaŝu antaŭ ni, por ke ni ne mortigu vin, kaj kion la reĝo diris al vi:

But if ye princes vnderstand that I haue talked with thee, and they come vnto thee, and say vnto thee, Declare vnto vs nowe, what thou hast sayde vnto the King, hide it not from vs, and we will not slay thee: also what the King sayd vnto thee,

26 tiam respondu al ili: Mi humile petegis la reĝon, ke li ne revenigu min en la domon de Jonatan, mi ne mortu tie.

Then shalt thou say vnto them, I humbly besought the King that he would not cause me to returne to Iehonathans house, to die there.

27 Kaj venis ĉiuj eminentuloj al Jeremia kaj demandis lin, kaj li respondis al ili konforme al ĉiuj vortoj, kiujn ordonis la reĝo; kaj ili silente foriris de li, ĉar ili nenion eksciis.

Then came all the princes vnto Ieremiah and asked him. And he tolde them according to all these wordes that the King had commanded: so they left off speaking with him, for the matter was not perceiued.

28 Kaj Jeremia restis sur la korto de la malliberejo ĝis la tago, en kiu Jerusalem estis venkoprenita; kaj li tie estis, kiam Jerusalem estis venkoprenita.

So Ieremiah abode still in the court of the prison, vntill the day that Ierusalem was taken: and he was there, when Ierusalem was taken.
