Genezo 43

1 La malsato estis tre premanta en la lando.

Now great famine was in the land.

2 Kiam ili formanĝis la grenon, kiun ili venigis el Egiptujo, ilia patro diris al ili: Iru denove kaj aĉetu por ni iom da pano.

And when they had eaten vp the vitaile, which they had brought from Egypt, their father sayd vnto them, Turne againe, and bye vs a little foode.

3 Tiam Jehuda diris al li jene: Tiu homo tre severe diris al ni: Ne aperu antaŭ mi, se via frato ne estos kun vi.

And Iudah answered him, saying, The man charged vs by an othe, saying, Neuer see my face, except your brother be with you.

4 Se vi sendos nian fraton kun ni, tiam ni iros kaj aĉetos por vi panon;

If thou wilt sende our brother with vs, we will goe downe, and bye thee foode:

5 sed se vi ne sendos, tiam ni ne iros; ĉar tiu homo diris al ni: Ne aperu antaŭ mi, se via frato ne estos kun vi.

But if thou wilt not send him, we wil not go downe: for the man said vnto vs, Looke me not in the face, except your brother be with you.

6 Kaj Izrael diris: Kial vi faris al mi tian malbonon, kaj diris al la homo, ke vi havas ankoraŭ fraton?

And Israel sayd, Wherefore delt ye so euill with me, as to tell the man, whether ye had yet a brother or no?

7 Kaj ili diris: La homo severe demandis pri ni kaj pri nia familio, dirante: Ĉu via patro ankoraŭ vivas? ĉu vi havas fraton? Kaj ni respondis al li tiujn demandojn. Ĉu ni povis scii, ke li diros: Venigu vian fraton?

And they answered, The man asked straitly of our selues and of our kinred, saying, Is your father yet aliue? haue ye any brother? And wee tolde him according to these wordes: could we knowe certainely that he would say, Bring your brother downe?

8 Kaj Jehuda diris al sia patro Izrael: Sendu la knabon kun mi, tiam ni leviĝos kaj iros, por ke ni vivu kaj ne mortu, ni kaj vi kaj niaj infanoj.

Then sayde Iudah to Israel his father, Send the boy with mee, that we may rise and goe, and that we may liue and not dye, both we, and thou, and our children.

9 Mi garantios por li, el miaj manoj vi lin postulos. Se mi ne revenigos lin al vi kaj ne starigos antaŭ via vizaĝo, tiam mi estos kulpa antaŭ vi dum la tuta vivo.

I wil be suertie for him: of mine hand shalt thou require him. If I bring him not to thee, and set him before thee, then let me beare the blame for euer.

10 Se ni ne prokrastus, ni jam du fojojn estus revenintaj.

For except we had made this tarying, doutlesse by this we had returned the second time.

11 Tiam diris al ili ilia patro Izrael: Se estas tiel, tiam faru jene: prenu el la plej bonaj fruktoj de la lando en viajn vazojn, kaj alportu al la homo donacon: iom da balzamo kaj iom da mielo, aromaĵon kaj mirhon, pistakojn kaj migdalojn.

Then their father Israel sayd vnto them, If it must needes be so now, do thus: take of the best fruites of the lande in your vessels, and bring the man a present, a little rosen, and a little hony, spices and myrrhe, nuttes, and almondes:

12 Kaj da mono prenu duoblan sumon en viajn manojn, kaj la monon, kiu estis metita returne en la aperturojn de viaj sakoj, redonu per viaj manoj: eble okazis eraro.

And take double money in your hande, and the money, that was brought againe in your sackes mouthes: cary it againe in your hand, lest it were some ouersight.

13 Kaj vian fraton prenu, kaj leviĝu kaj iru returne al tiu homo.

Take also your brother and arise, and go againe to the man.

14 Kaj Dio la Plejpotenca akirigu al vi kompaton de tiu homo, ke li resendu kun vi vian alian fraton kaj Benjamenon; sed mi, se mi seninfaniĝis, mi restu seninfana.

And God almightie giue you mercie in the sight of the man, that hee may deliuer you your other brother, and Beniamin: but I shall be robbed of my childe, as I haue bene.

15 Kaj la homoj prenis tiujn donacojn, kaj da mono ili prenis duoblan sumon en siajn manojn, kaj ankaŭ Benjamenon; kaj ili leviĝis kaj iris Egiptujon kaj stariĝis antaŭ Jozef.

Thus the men tooke this present, and tooke twise so much money in their hande with Beniamin, and rose vp, and went downe to Egypt and stoode before Ioseph.

16 Kiam Jozef vidis kun ili Benjamenon, li diris al la estro de sia domo: Enkonduku tiujn homojn en la domon, kaj buĉu bruton kaj pretigu; ĉar kun mi manĝos tiuj homoj hodiaŭ tagmeze.

And whe Ioseph saw Beniamin with them, he sayde to his stewarde, Bring these men home and kill meate, and make ready: for the men shall eate with me at noone.

17 Kaj la homo faris, kiel diris Jozef, kaj la homo enkondukis tiujn homojn en la domon de Jozef.

And the man did as Ioseph bad, and brought the men vnto Iosephs house.

18 Kaj tiuj homoj ektimis, kiam oni enkondukis ilin en la domon de Jozef, kaj ili diris: Pro la mono, kiu antaŭe estis metita returne en niajn sakojn, oni enkondukis nin, por ĵeti sur nin kalumnion kaj ataki nin, kaj preni nin kiel sklavojn kune kun niaj azenoj.

Nowe when the men were brought into Iosephs house, they were afrayd, and sayd, Because of the money, that came in our sackes mouthes at the first time, are we brought, that hee may picke a quarrell against vs, and lay some thing to our charge, and bring vs in bondage and our asses.

19 Kaj ili aliris al la homo, kiu estis estro super la domo de Jozef, kaj ekparolis al li ĉe la pordo de la domo.

Therefore came they to Iosephs stewarde, and communed with him at the doore of ye house.

20 Kaj ili diris: Pardonu, nia sinjoro! ni estis venintaj, por aĉeti panon;

And said, Oh syr, we came in deede down hither at the first time to bye foode,

21 sed kiam ni venis al la noktohaltejo kaj ni malfermis niajn sakojn, ni ekvidis, ke la mono de ĉiu el ni estas en la aperturo de lia sako, nia mono laŭ ĝia plena pezo; tial ni ĝin realportis per niaj manoj.

And as wee came to an ynne and opened our sackes, behold, euery mans money was in his sackes mouth, euen our money in full weight, but we haue brought it againe in our handes.

22 Kaj alian monon ni alportis per niaj manoj, por aĉeti panon. Ni ne scias, kiu metis nian monon en niajn sakojn.

Also other money haue we brought in our handes to bye foode, but we cannot tell, who put our money in our sackes.

23 Kaj li diris: Estu trankvilaj, ne timu. Via Dio kaj la Dio de via patro donis al vi trezoron en viajn sakojn; vian monon mi ricevis. Kaj li elkondukis al ili Simeonon.

And he said, Peace be vnto you, feare not: your God and the God of your father hath giuen you that treasure in your sackes, I had your money: and he brought forth Simeon to them.

24 Kaj tiu homo enkondukis ilin en la domon de Jozef kaj donis akvon, kaj ili lavis siajn piedojn; kaj li donis manĝon al iliaj azenoj.

So the man led them into Iosephs house, and gaue them water to wash their feete, and gaue their asses prouender.

25 Kaj ili pretigis la donacojn por la veno de Jozef tagmeze; ĉar ili aŭdis, ke tie ili manĝos panon.

And they made ready their present against Ioseph came at noone, (for they heard say, that they should eate bread there)

26 Kaj Jozef venis hejmen; kaj ili alportis al li en la domon la donacojn, kiujn ili havis en la manoj, kaj kliniĝis al li ĝis la tero.

When Ioseph came home, they brought the present into the house to him, which was in their handes, and bowed downe to the grounde before him.

27 Kaj li demandis ilin pri ilia farto, kaj diris: Ĉu bone fartas via maljuna patro, pri kiu vi diris al mi? ĉu li vivas ankoraŭ?

And he asked them of their prosperitie, and sayd, Is your father the olde man, of whome ye tolde me, in good health? is he yet aliue?

28 Kaj ili diris: Via sklavo nia patro fartas bone; li vivas ankoraŭ. Kaj ili kliniĝis kaj ĵetis sin antaŭ li sur la teron.

Who answered, Thy seruant our father is in good health, he is yet aliue: and they bowed downe, and made obeysance.

29 Kaj li levis siajn okulojn, kaj ekvidis sian fraton Benjamen, la filon de lia patrino, kaj li diris: Ĉu tio estas via plej juna frato, pri kiu vi diris al mi? Kaj li diris: Dio vin favoru, mia filo.

And he lifting vp his eyes, beheld his brother Beniamin his mothers sonne, and sayde, Is this your yonger brother, of whome ye tolde me? And he said, God be merciful vnto thee, my sone.

30 Kaj Jozef forrapidis, ĉar ekflamis lia interno pro lia frato kaj li volis plori. Kaj li eniris en internan ĉambron kaj ploris tie.

And Ioseph made haste (for his affection was inflamed towarde his brother, and sought where to weepe) and entred into his chamber, and wept there.

31 Sed li lavis sian vizaĝon kaj eliris, kaj tenis sin forte, kaj diris: Surtabligu panon!

Afterward he washed his face, and came out, and refrained himselfe, and sayd, Set on meate.

32 Kaj oni surtabligis por li aparte, kaj por ili aparte, kaj por la Egiptoj, kiuj manĝis kun li, aparte; ĉar la Egiptoj ne povas manĝi panon kun Hebreoj: tio estas abomenindaĵo por ili.

And they prepared for him by himselfe, and for them by themselues, and for the Egyptians, which did eate with him, by themselues, because the Egyptians might not eate bread with the Ebrewes: for that was an abomination vnto the Egyptians.

33 Kaj ili sidiĝis antaŭ li, pli maljuna laŭ sia maljuneco kaj pli juna laŭ sia juneco; kaj la homoj miris unu antaŭ alia.

So they sate before him: the eldest according vnto his age, and the yongest according vnto his youth. and the men marueiled among themselues.

34 Kaj oni portis al ili manĝaĵon de lia tablo; sed la porcio de Benjamen estis kvinoble pli granda, ol la porcioj de ĉiuj. Kaj ili trinkis kaj ebriiĝis kun li.

And they tooke meases from before him, and sent to them: but Beniamins mease was fiue times so much as any of theirs: and they drunke, and had of the best drinke with him.
