Daniel 5
1 La reĝo Belŝacar faris grandan festenon por siaj mil eminentuloj kaj multe drinkis kun tiuj mil.
Baltasar the king made a great supper for his thousand nobles, and [there was] wine before the thousand.
2 Fariĝinte ebria, Belŝacar ordonis alporti la orajn kaj arĝentajn vazojn, kiujn lia patro Nebukadnecar venigis el la templo de Jerusalem, por ke el ili trinku la reĝo kaj liaj eminentuloj, liaj edzinoj kaj kromvirinoj.
And Baltasar drinking gave orders as he tasted the wine that they should bring the gold and silver vessels, which Nabuchodonosor his father had brought forth from the temple in Jerusalem; that the king, and his nobles, and his mistresses, and his concubines, should drink out of them.
3 Tiam oni alportis la orajn vazojn, kiuj estis prenitaj el la sanktejo de la domo de Dio en Jerusalem; kaj trinkis el ili la reĝo kaj liaj eminentuloj, liaj edzinoj kaj kromvirinoj.
So the gold and silver vessels were brought which [Nabuchodonosor] had taken out of the temple of God in Jerusalem; and the king, and his nobles, and his mistresses, and his concubines, drank out of them.
4 Ili trinkis vinon, kaj gloris la diojn orajn kaj arĝentajn, kuprajn, ferajn, lignajn, kaj ŝtonajn.
They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of iron, and of wood, and of stone.
5 En tiu momento aperis fingroj de homa mano kaj komencis skribi kontraŭ la kandelabro sur la kalkita muro de la reĝa salono; kaj la reĝo vidis la manon, kiu skribis.
In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote in front of the lamp on the plaster of the wall of the king's house: and the king saw the knuckles of the hand that wrote.
6 Tiam ŝanĝiĝis la vizaĝaspekto de la reĝo, liaj pensoj konfuziĝis, la ligiloj de liaj lumboj malstreĉiĝis, kaj liaj genuoj tremante kunfrapiĝadis.
Then the king's countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, and the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees struck one another.
7 La reĝo laŭtege ekkriis, ke oni venigu la magiistojn, Ĥaldeojn, kaj divenistojn. La reĝo ekparolis, kaj diris al la saĝuloj de Babel: Kiu ajn tralegos ĉi tiun surskribon kaj klarigos al mi ĝian signifon, tiu ricevos purpuran veston, ora ĉeno estos sur lia kolo, kaj li estos la tria reganto en la regno.
And the king cried aloud to bring in the magicians, Chaldeans, [and] soothsayers; and he said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and make known to me the interpretation, shall be clothed with scarlet, and [there shall be] a golden chain upon his neck, and he shall be the third ruler in my kingdom.
8 Tiam venis ĉiuj saĝuloj de la reĝo; sed ili ne povis tralegi la surskribon, nek klarigi al la reĝo ĝian signifon.
Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known the interpretation to the king.
9 La reĝo Belŝacar forte maltrankviliĝis, kaj lia vizaĝaspekto ŝanĝiĝis, kaj antaŭ liaj eminentuloj konfuziĝis.
And king Baltasar was troubled, and his countenance changed upon him, and his nobles were troubled with him.
10 Ĉe tiu okazintaĵo, kiu fariĝis al la reĝo kaj al liaj altranguloj, en la salonon de la festeno eniris la reĝino. La reĝino ekparolis, kaj diris: Ho reĝo, vivu eterne! Ne konsternu vin viaj pensoj, kaj ne ŝanĝiĝu via vizaĝaspekto.
Then the queen came into the banquet house, and said, O king, live for ever: let not your thoughts trouble you, and let not your countenance be changed.
11 En via regno ekzistas viro, kiu havas en si la spiriton de la sanktaj dioj; en la tempo de via patro oni trovis en li lumon, prudenton, kaj saĝon, similan al la saĝo de la dioj; kaj la reĝo Nebukadnecar, via patro, la reĝo mem, via patro, faris lin ĉefo de la astrologoj, sorĉistoj, Ĥaldeoj, kaj divenistoj;
There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the Spirit of God; and in the days of your father watchfulness and understanding were found in him; and king Nabuchodonosor your father made him chief of the enchanters, magicians, Chaldeans, [and] soothsayers.
12 ĉar en li oni trovis altan spiriton, scion, kaj prudenton, por klarigi sonĝojn, komentarii sentencojn, kaj malkaŝi kaŝitaĵojn. Tio estas Daniel, al kiu la reĝo donis la nomon Beltŝacar. Tial oni voku Danielon, kaj li klarigos la signifon.
For [there is] an excellent spirit in him, and sense and understanding in him, interpreting dreams [as he does], and answering hard [questions], and solving difficulties: [it is] Daniel, and the king gave him the name of Baltasar: now then let him be called, and he shall tell you the interpretation of the writing.
13 Tiam oni alkondukis Danielon antaŭ la reĝon; kaj la reĝo ekparolis, kaj diris al Daniel: Ĉu vi estas Daniel, unu el la forkaptitaj filoj de Judujo, kiujn mia patro, la reĝo, venigis el Judujo?
Then Daniel was brought in before the king: and the king said to Daniel, Are you Daniel, of the children of the captivity of Judea, which the king my father brought?
14 Mi aŭdis pri vi, ke la spirito de la dioj estas en vi, kaj ke lumo, prudento, kaj eksterordinara saĝo troviĝas en vi.
I have heard concerning you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and [that] watchfulness and understanding and excellent wisdom have been found in you.
15 Nun estis alkondukitaj al mi la saĝuloj kaj magiistoj, por tralegi ĉi tiun surskribon kaj klarigi al mi ĝian signifon; sed ili ne povis klarigi al mi la sencon de ĉi tiuj vortoj.
And now, the wise men, magicians, [and] soothsayers, have come in before me, to read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation: but they could not tell it me.
16 Sed mi aŭdis pri vi, ke vi povoscias klarigi signifon kaj malkaŝi kaŝitaĵon. Tial, se vi povas tralegi ĉi tiun surskribon kaj klarigi al mi ĝian signifon, vi ricevos purpuran veston, ora ĉeno estos sur via kolo, kaj vi estos la tria reganto en la regno.
And I have heard concerning you, that you are able to make interpretations: now then if you shall be able to read the writing, and to make known to me the interpretation of it, you shall be clothed with purple, and there shall be a golden chain upon your neck, and you shall be third ruler in my kingdom.
17 Tiam Daniel respondis kaj diris al la reĝo: Viaj donacoj restu ĉe vi, viajn rekompencojn donu al iu alia; mi tamen tralegos al la reĝo la surskribon, kaj mi klarigos al li la signifon.
And Daniel said, before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give the present of your house to another; but I will read the writing, and will make known to you the interpretation of it.
18 Ho reĝo! Dio la Plejalta donis al via patro Nebukadnecar regnon, potencon, honoron, kaj gloron.
O king, the most high God gave to your father Nabuchodonosor a kingdom, and majesty, and honor, and glory:
19 Pro la potenco, kiun Li donis al li, ĉiuj popoloj, gentoj, kaj lingvoj tremis kaj havis timon antaŭ li; kiun li volis, li mortigis, kaj kiun li volis, li lasis vivi; kiun li volis, li altigis, kaj kiun li volis, li malaltigis.
and by reason of the majesty which he gave to him, all nations, tribes, [and] languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he killed; and whom he would he struck; and whom he would he exalted; and whom he would he abased.
20 Sed kiam lia koro fieriĝis kaj lia spirito malhumiliĝis, li estis deĵetita el sia reĝa trono kaj senigita je sia gloro;
But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and [his] honor was taken from him.
21 kaj li estis elpuŝita el meze de la homoj, kaj lia koro fariĝis simila al koro de besto, kaj li vivis kun sovaĝaj azenoj; li manĝis herbon, kiel la bovoj, kaj lia korpo estis trinkigata per la roso de la ĉielo; ĝis li eksciis, ke super la regno de homoj regas Dio la Plejalta, kaj donas ĝin al tiu, al kiu Li volas.
And he was driven forth from men; and his heart was given him after the nature of wild beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses; and they fed him with grass as an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven; until he knew that the most high God is Lord of the kingdom of men, and will give it to whoever he shall please.
22 Vi, lia filo, ho Belŝacar, ne humiligis vian koron, kvankam vi sciis ĉion tion;
And you accordingly, his son, O Baltasar, has not humbled your heart before God: know you not all this?
23 sed vi levis vin kontraŭ la Reganton de la ĉielo, tiel, ke la vazojn el Lia domo oni alportis al vi, kaj vi kun viaj eminentuloj, kun viaj edzinoj kaj kromvirinoj, trinkis vinon el ili; kaj vi gloris la diojn arĝentajn kaj orajn, kuprajn, ferajn, lignajn, kaj ŝtonajn, kiuj ne vidas, ne aŭdas, kaj ne pensas; kaj Dion, en kies mano estas la spiro de via vivo kaj ĉiuj viaj vojoj, vi ne gloris.
And you has been exalted against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of his house, and you, and your nobles, and your mistresses, and your concubines, have drunk wine out of them; and you has praised the gods of gold, and silver, and brass, and iron, and wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God in whose hand are your breath, and all your ways has you not glorified.
24 Pro tio estas sendita de Li la mano kaj skribita ĉi tiu surskribo.
Therefore from his presence has been sent forth the knuckle of a hand; and he has ordered the writing.
25 Jen estas la surskribo, kiu estas desegnita: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UFARSIN.
And this is the ordered writing, Mane, Thekel, Phares.
26 Jen estas la signifo de la vortoj: MENE: Dio kalkulis la tempon de via reĝado kaj metis al ĝi finon;
This is the interpretation of the sentence: Mane; God has measured your kingdom, and finished it.
27 TEKEL: vi estas pesita sur pesilo kaj trovita tro malpeza;
Thekel; it has been weighed in the balance, and found lacking.
28 PERES: via regno estas dividita kaj donita al la Medoj kaj Persoj.
Phares; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
29 Tiam laŭ ordono de Belŝacar oni metis purpuran veston sur Danielon kaj oran ĉenon sur lian kolon, kaj oni proklamis lin la tria reganto en la regno.
Then Baltasar commanded, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put the golden chain about his neck, and proclaimed concerning him that he was the third ruler in the kingdom.
30 En tiu sama nokto Belŝacar, reĝo de la Ĥaldeoj, estis mortigita.
In the same night was Baltasar the Chaldean king slain.
31 Dario, la Medo, ricevis la regnon, havante la aĝon de sesdek du jaroj.
And Darius the Mede succeeded to the kingdom, being sixty-two years [old].
