2 Timoteo 1

1 Paŭlo, apostolo de Kristo Jesuo, per la volo de Dio, laŭ la promeso de vivo, kiu estas en Kristo Jesuo,

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life, which is in Christ Jesus,

2 al Timoteo, mia amata filo: Graco, kompato, kaj paco de Dio, la Patro, kaj de Kristo Jesuo, nia Sinjoro.

to Timothy my beloved son; grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 Mi dankas Dion, kiun mi adoras de post miaj praavoj kun pura konscienco, ke konstantan memoron mi havas pri vi en miaj preĝoj, nokte kaj tage

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, after the custom of my forefathers, that, without ceasing, I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day,

4 sopirante vidi vin, memorante viajn larmojn, por ke mi pleniĝu de ĝojo;

greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy;

5 ricevinte rememoron pri la sincera fido, kiu estas en vi, kaj kiu loĝis unue en via avino Lois kaj en via patrino Eŭnike, kaj, mi konvinkiĝis, en vi ankaŭ.

for I remember the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois, and in your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that it dwells in you also.

6 Pro tio mi memorigas vin, ke vi reekbruligu la donacon de Dio, kiu estas en vi per la surmetado de miaj manoj.

Wherefore I exhort you to kindle up the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of my hands.

7 Ĉar Dio donis al ni spiriton ne de malkuraĝeco, sed de potenco kaj amo kaj sinregado.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

8 Ne hontu do pri la atesto de nia Sinjoro, nek pri mi, lia malliberulo; sed kunelportu suferojn kun la evangelio laŭ la potenco de Dio,

Be not, therefore, ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner: but jointly suffer evil in the gospel according to the power of God,

9 kiu nin savis kaj vokis per sankta voko, ne laŭ niaj faroj, sed laŭ Sia propra antaŭintenco kaj laŭ la graco donita al ni en Kristo Jesuo antaŭ tempoj eternaj, (aiōnios g166)

who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the ages, (aiōnios g166)

10 sed nun malkaŝita per la apero de nia Savanto Jesuo Kristo, kiu neniigis la morton kaj enlumigis la vivon kaj la senmortecon per la evangelio,

but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has deprived death of its power, and brought life and incorruptibility to light through the gospel;

11 al kiu mi estas nomita predikisto kaj apostolo kaj instruisto.

to which I have been appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles;

12 Pro tio mi ankaŭ suferas tiel; tamen mi ne hontas; ĉar mi konas tiun, al kiu mi kredis, kaj mi konvinkiĝis, ke li havas la povon gardi mian konfiditaĵon ĝis tiu tago.

for which cause I also suffer these things; yet I am not ashamed: for I know in whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have intrusted to him till that day.

13 Konservu la modelon de sanaj vortoj, kiujn vi aŭdis de mi, en fido kaj amo, kiuj estas en Kristo Jesuo.

Hold fast the form of sound words which you have heard from me, in faithfulness and in love which is in Christ Jesus.

14 La bonan konfiditaĵon gardu per la Sankta Spirito, kiu loĝas en ni.

That good thing which was intrusted to you, keep by the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

15 Vi scias, ke forturniĝis de mi ĉiuj en Azio, el kiuj estas Figelo kaj Hermogenes.

You know this, that all those who are in Asia have turned away from me; all those, I say, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

16 La Sinjoro donu kompaton al la domo de Onesiforo; ĉar li ofte min refreŝigis, kaj li ne hontis pri mia kateno,

May the Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

17 sed kiam li estis en Romo, li elserĉis min tre diligente kaj min trovis

but when he was in Rome, he sought for me very diligently, and found me.

18 (la Sinjoro donu al li, ke li trovu kompaton ĉe la Sinjoro en tiu tago), kaj vi scias tre bone, kiom da servoj li faris en Efeso.

The Lord grant to him, that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day. And in how many things he ministered to me in Ephesus, you know very well.
