2 Samuel 20

1 Troviĝis tie viro malbonaga, kies nomo estis Ŝeba, filo de Biĥri, Benjamenido; li ekblovis per trumpeto, kaj diris: Ni ne havas parton en David, ni ne havas heredaĵon en la filo de Jiŝaj: iru, Izraelidoj, ĉiu en sian tendon.

And there happened to be a man of worthlessness there, and his name [is] Sheba, son of Bichri, a Benjamite, and he blows with a horn and says, “We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each [goes] to his tents, O Israel.”

2 Kaj ĉiuj Izraelidoj foriris de David, kaj sekvis Ŝeban, filon de Biĥri; sed la Judoj restis fidelaj al sia reĝo, de Jordan ĝis Jerusalem.

And every man of Israel goes up from after David, after Sheba son of Bichri, and the men of Judah have cleaved to their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.

3 Kiam David venis en sian domon en Jerusalem, la reĝo prenis la dek kromvirinojn, kiujn li restigis, por gardi la domon, kaj metis ilin en gardejon; li donadis al ili vivrimedojn, sed li ne envenadis al ili. Kaj ili restis ŝlositaj ĝis la tago de sia morto, vivante kiel vidvinoj.

And David comes to his house at Jerusalem. And the king takes the ten women-concubines whom he had left to keep the house, and puts them in a house of ward and sustains them, and he has not gone in to them, and they are shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.

4 Kaj la reĝo diris al Amasa: Kunvoku al mi la Judojn por la tria tago, kaj vi ankaŭ venu ĉi tien.

And the king says to Amasa, “Call the men of Judah for me [within] three days, and you, stand here,”

5 Amasa iris, por kunvoki la Judojn; sed li malfruis la templimon, kiu estis destinita al li.

and Amasa goes to call Judah, and tarries beyond the appointed time that he had appointed him;

6 Tiam David diris al Abiŝaj: Nun Ŝeba, filo de Biĥri, faros al ni pli da malbono, ol Abŝalom; prenu do vi la servantojn de via sinjoro, kaj postkuru lin, por ke li ne trovu fortikigitajn urbojn kaj ne ŝirmu sin kontraŭ niaj okuloj.

and David says to Abishai, “Now Sheba son of Bichri does evil to us more than Absalom; you, take the servants of your lord, and pursue after him, lest he has found fortified cities for himself, and delivered himself [from] our eye.”

7 Kaj eliris post li la viroj de Joab kaj la Keretidoj kaj la Peletidoj kaj ĉiuj fortuloj; kaj ili eliris el Jerusalem, por postkuri Ŝeban, filon de Biĥri.

And the men of Joab go out after him, and the Cherethite, and the Pelethite, and all the mighty men, and they go out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri;

8 Kiam ili estis ĉe la granda ŝtono, kiu troviĝas en Gibeon, Amasa venis antaŭ ilin. Joab havis sur si striktan veston, kaj sur ĝi estis zonita glavo, kiu pendis en la glavingo ĉe lia lumbo kaj facile povis eliri kaj eniri.

they [are] near the great stone that [is] in Gibeon, and Amasa has gone before them, and Joab [is] girded; he has put his long robe on him, and on it a girdle—a sword [is] fastened on his loins in its sheath; and he has gone out, and it falls.

9 Kaj Joab diris al Amasa: Kiel vi fartas, mia frato? Kaj per la dekstra mano Joab prenis la barbon de Amasa, por kisi lin.

And Joab says to Amasa, “Are you [in] peace, my brother?” And the right hand of Joab lays hold on the beard of Amasa to give a kiss to him;

10 Amasa ne atentis la glavon, kiu estis en la mano de Joab; kaj ĉi tiu frapis lin per ĝi en la ventron tiel, ke liaj internaĵoj elŝutiĝis sur la teron, kaj sen ripetita frapo li mortis. Poste Joab kaj lia frato Abiŝaj postkuris Ŝeban, filon de Biĥri.

and Amasa has not been watchful of the sword that [is] in the hand of Joab, and he strikes him with it to the fifth [rib], and sheds out his bowels to the earth, and he has not repeated [it] to him, and he dies; and Joab and his brother Abishai have pursued after Sheba son of Bichri.

11 Ĉe la mortigito staris viro el la servantoj de Joab, kaj diris: Kiu amas Joabon kaj kiu estas por David, tiu sekvu Joabon.

And a man has stood by him, of the young men of Joab, and says, “He who has delight in Joab, and he who [is] for David—after Joab!”

12 Amasa kuŝis rulita en sango meze de la vojo. Kiam tiu viro vidis, ke ĉiuj haltadis, li fortrenis Amasan de la vojo sur la kampon kaj ĵetis sur lin veston, ĉar li vidis, ke ĉiu, kiu venis al li, haltis.

And Amasa is rolling himself in blood, in the midst of the highway, and the man sees that all the people have stood still, and he brings around Amasa out of the highway to the field, and casts a garment over him when he has seen that everyone who has come by him has stood still.

13 Kiam li estis forigita for de la vojo, ĉiuj iris post Joab, por postkuri Ŝeban, filon de Biĥri.

When he has been removed out of the highway, every man has passed on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri.

14 Ĉi tiu trairis ĉiujn tribojn de Izrael, ĝis Abel kaj Bet-Maaĥa, kaj ĉiuj Beriidoj; kaj oni kolektiĝis, kaj sekvis lin.

And he passes over through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-Maachah, and to all the Berites, and they are assembled, and also go in after him,

15 Kaj ili venis, kaj eksieĝis lin en Abel-Bet-Maaĥa, kaj ŝutis ĉirkaŭ la urbo remparon, kiu atingis la muron; kaj la tuta popolo, kiu estis kun Joab, komencis detrui, por faligi la muron.

and they go in and lay siege against him, in Abel of Beth-Maachah, and cast up a mound against the city, and it stands in a trench, and all the people who are [are] with Joab are destroying, to cause the wall to fall.

16 Tiam ekkriis unu saĝa virino el la urbo: Aŭskultu, aŭskultu; diru, mi petas, al Joab, ke li alproksimiĝu ĉi tien, por ke mi parolu kun li.

And a wise woman calls out of the city, “Hear! Hear! Please say to Joab, Come near here, and I speak to you.”

17 Kiam li alproksimiĝis al ŝi, la virino diris: Ĉu vi estas Joab? Li respondis: Mi. Kaj ŝi diris al li: Aŭskultu la vortojn de via sklavino. Li respondis: Mi aŭskultas.

And he comes near to her, and the woman says, “Are you Joab?” And he says, “I [am].” And she says to him, “Hear the words of your handmaid”; and he says, “I am hearing.”

18 Tiam ŝi diris: En antaŭaj tempoj oni diradis: Demandu la Abelanojn, kaj konforme al tio decidu.

And she speaks, saying, “They spoke often in former times, saying, Let them diligently inquire at Abel, and so they finished.

19 Mi estas unu el la pacemaj kaj fidelaj urboj de Izrael; vi volas ruinigi urbon kaj patrinon en Izrael; por kio vi volas ekstermi posedaĵon de la Eternulo?

I [am] of the peaceable, faithful ones of Israel; you are seeking to destroy a city and mother in Israel; why do you swallow up the inheritance of YHWH?”

20 Tiam Joab respondis kaj diris: Mi tute, tute ne intencas ekstermi kaj ruinigi;

And Joab answers and says, “Far be it—far be it from me; I do not swallow up nor destroy.

21 ne tia estas la afero; sed unu viro de la monto de Efraim — Ŝeba, filo de Biĥri, estas lia nomo — levis sian manon kontraŭ la reĝon David; donu lin solan, kaj mi foriros de la urbo. Kaj la virino diris al Joab: Jen lia kapo estos ĵetita al vi trans la muron.

The matter [is] not so; for a man of the hill-country of Ephraim—Sheba son of Bichri [is] his name—has lifted up his hand against the king, against David; give him up by himself, and I go away from the city.” And the woman says to Joab, “Behold, his head is cast to you over the wall.”

22 Kaj la virino venis al la tuta popolo kun sia saĝa parolo; kaj ili dehakis la kapon de Ŝeba, filo de Biĥri, kaj ĵetis al Joab. Tiam li ekblovis per trumpeto, kaj oni foriris de la urbo ĉiu al sia tendo; kaj Joab revenis Jerusalemon al la reĝo.

And the woman comes to all the people in her wisdom, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bichri, and cast [it] to Joab, and he blows with a horn, and they are scattered from the city, each [goes] to his tents, and Joab has turned back to Jerusalem to the king.

23 Joab estis super la tuta militistaro de Izrael; kaj Benaja, filo de Jehojada, super la Keretidoj kaj la Peletidoj;

And Joab [is] over all the host of Israel, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the Cherethite, and over the Pelethite,

24 kaj Adoram super la impostoj; kaj Jehoŝafat, filo de Aĥilud, estis kronikisto;

and Adoram [is] over the tribute, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] the remembrancer,

25 kaj Ŝeva estis skribisto; kaj Cadok kaj Ebjatar estis pastroj;

and Sheva [is] scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests,

26 ankaŭ Ira, la Jairano, estis pastro ĉe David.

and also, Ira the Jairite has been minister to David.
