2 Samuel 13

1 Poste okazis jeno: Abŝalom, filo de David, havis belan fratinon, kies nomo estis Tamar; ŝin ekamis Amnon, filo de David.

After some time, David’s son Amnon fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of David’s son Absalom.

2 Kaj Amnon suferis multe kaj preskaŭ malsaniĝis pro sia fratino Tamar; ĉar ŝi estis virgulino, kaj al Amnon ŝajnis malfacile fari ion al ŝi.

Amnon was sick with frustration over his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed implausible for him to do anything to her.

3 Sed Amnon havis amikon, kies nomo estis Jonadab, filo de Ŝimea, frato de David; kaj Jonadab estis homo tre saĝa.

Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah. Jonadab was a very shrewd man,

4 Kaj li diris al li: Kial vi tiel malgrasiĝas, ho reĝido, kun ĉiu tago? ĉu vi ne diros al mi? Kaj Amnon diris al li: Tamaron, fratinon de mia frato Abŝalom, mi amas.

so he asked Amnon, “Why are you, the son of the king, so depressed morning after morning? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon replied, “I am in love with Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

5 Tiam Jonadab diris al li: Kuŝiĝu en vian liton, kaj ŝajnigu vin malsana; kaj kiam venos via patro, por vidi vin, diru al li: Mi petas, ke mia fratino Tamar venu, kaj ŝi donu al mi manĝi kaj ŝi pretigu antaŭ mi la manĝaĵon, por ke mi vidu kaj mi manĝu el ŝiaj manoj.

Jonadab told him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend you are ill. When your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare it in my sight so I may watch her and eat it from her hand.’”

6 Amnon kuŝiĝis, kaj ŝajnigis sin malsana; kaj venis la reĝo, por vidi lin, kaj Amnon diris al la reĝo: Mi petas, ke venu mia fratino Tamar, kaj ke ŝi pretigu antaŭ miaj okuloj du kuketojn, por ke mi manĝu el ŝiaj manoj.

So Amnon lay down and feigned illness. When the king came to see him, Amnon said, “Please let my sister Tamar come and make a couple of cakes in my sight, so that I may eat from her hand.”

7 Tiam David sendis al Tamar en la domon, por diri: Iru, mi petas, en la domon de via frato Amnon, kaj pretigu al li manĝaĵon.

Then David sent word to Tamar at the palace: “Please go to the house of Amnon your brother and prepare a meal for him.”

8 Kaj Tamar iris en la domon de sia frato Amnon; li kuŝis. Kaj ŝi prenis paston, knedis ĝin, preparis antaŭ liaj okuloj, kaj bakis la kuketojn.

So Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon, who was lying down. She took some dough, kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked them.

9 Kaj ŝi prenis la paton, kaj elskuis antaŭ li; sed li ne volis manĝi. Kaj Amnon diris: Forigu de mi ĉiujn. Kaj ĉiuj eliris de li.

Then she brought the pan and set it down before him, but he refused to eat. “Send everyone away!” said Amnon. And everyone went out.

10 Tiam Amnon diris al Tamar: Alportu la manĝaĵon en la internan ĉambron, por ke mi manĝu el viaj manoj. Tamar prenis la kuketojn, kiujn ŝi faris, kaj alportis ilin al sia frato Amnon en la internan ĉambron.

Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom, so that I may eat it from your hand.” Tamar took the cakes she had made and went to her brother Amnon’s bedroom.

11 Sed, kiam ŝi ilin alportis al li por manĝi, li kaptis ŝin, kaj diris al ŝi: Venu, kuŝiĝu kun mi, mia fratino.

And when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said, “Come lie with me, my sister!”

12 Tiam ŝi diris al li: Ne, mia frato, ne perfortu min; ĉar tiel ne estas farate en Izrael; ne faru tian malnoblaĵon.

“No, my brother!” she cried. “Do not humiliate me, for such a thing should never be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing!

13 Kien mi irus kun mia malhonoro? kaj vi fariĝus kiel iu el la malnobluloj en Izrael. Parolu kun la reĝo, mi petas; kaj li ne rifuzos min al vi.

Where could I ever take my shame? And you would be like one of the fools in Israel! Please speak to the king, for he will not withhold me from you.”

14 Sed li ne volis obei ŝiajn vortojn, kaj kaptis ŝin kaj perfortis ŝin kaj kuŝis kun ŝi.

But Amnon refused to listen to her, and being stronger, he violated her and lay with her.

15 Post tio Amnon ekmalamis ŝin per tre granda malamo; pli granda estis la malamo, kiun li eksentis al ŝi, ol la amo, kiun li antaŭe havis por ŝi. Kaj Amnon diris al ŝi: Leviĝu, foriru.

Then Amnon hated Tamar with such intensity that his hatred was greater than the love he previously had. “Get up!” he said to her. “Be gone!”

16 Kaj ŝi diris al li: Se vi forpelas min, tiam ĉi tiu granda malbono estas pli granda, ol la alia, kiun vi faris al mi. Sed li ne volis aŭskulti ŝin.

“No,” she replied, “sending me away is worse than this great wrong you have already done to me!” But he refused to listen to her.

17 Kaj li alvokis sian junulon-servanton, kaj diris: Forpelu de mi ĉi tiun for, kaj ŝlosu la pordon post ŝi.

Instead, he called to his attendant and said, “Throw this woman out and bolt the door behind her!”

18 Ŝi havis sur si diverskoloran veston, ĉar per tiaj tunikoj vestadis sin la filinoj de la reĝo. Kaj lia servanto elkondukis ŝin eksteren kaj ŝlosis la pordon post ŝi.

So Amnon’s attendant threw her out and bolted the door behind her. Now Tamar was wearing a robe of many colors, because this is what the king’s virgin daughters wore.

19 Tiam Tamar prenis cindron sur sian kapon, kaj la diverskoloran veston, kiu estis sur ŝi, ŝi disŝiris; kaj ŝi metis sian manon sur sian kapon, kaj iris kaj kriis.

And Tamar put ashes on her head and tore her robe. And putting her hand on her head, she went away crying bitterly.

20 Kaj diris al ŝi ŝia frato Abŝalom: Ĉu via frato Amnon estis kun vi? nun, mia fratino, silentu; li estas via frato; ne tro afliktiĝu pro tiu afero. Kaj Tamar restis malĝoja en la domo de sia frato Abŝalom.

Her brother Absalom said to her, “Has your brother Amnon been with you? Be quiet for now, my sister. He is your brother. Do not take this thing to heart.” So Tamar lived as a desolate woman in the house of her brother Absalom.

21 Kiam la reĝo David aŭdis ĉion ĉi tion, li tre koleris.

When King David heard all this, he was furious.

22 Abŝalom parolis kun Amnon nek malbonon nek bonon; ĉar Abŝalom malamis Amnonon pro tio, ke li perfortis lian fratinon Tamar.

And Absalom never said a word to Amnon, either good or bad, because he hated Amnon for disgracing his sister Tamar.

23 Okazis post du jaroj, ke oni tondis la ŝafojn ĉe Abŝalom en Baal-Ĥacor, kiu estas apud Efraim; kaj Abŝalom invitis ĉiujn filojn de la reĝo.

Two years later, when Absalom’s sheepshearers were at Baal-hazor near Ephraim, he invited all the sons of the king.

24 Kaj Abŝalom venis al la reĝo, kaj diris: Jen oni tondas ĉe via sklavo; mi petas, ke la reĝo kun siaj servantoj venu al via sklavo.

And he went to the king and said, “Your servant has just hired shearers. Will the king and his servants please come with me?”

25 Sed la reĝo diris al Abŝalom: Ne, mia filo, ni ne iros ĉiuj, por ke ni ne estu ŝarĝo por vi. Tiu insiste lin petis; sed li ne volis iri, li nur benis lin.

“No, my son,” the king replied, “we should not all go, or we would be a burden to you.” Although Absalom urged him, he was not willing to go, but gave him his blessing.

26 Tiam Abŝalom diris: Se ne, tiam almenaŭ mia frato Amnon iru kun ni. Kaj la reĝo diris al li: Por kio li iru kun vi?

“If not,” said Absalom, “please let my brother Amnon go with us.” “Why should he go with you?” the king asked.

27 Sed Abŝalom insiste lin petis; tial li lasis iri kun li Amnonon kaj ĉiujn filojn de la reĝo.

But Absalom urged him, so the king sent Amnon and the rest of his sons.

28 Kaj Abŝalom ordonis al siaj servantoj jene: Rigardu, mi petas, kiam la koro de Amnon gajiĝos de vino, kaj mi diros al vi, ke vi frapu Amnonon, tiam mortigu lin, ne timu; ĉar ja mi ordonis al vi; estu senhezitaj kaj kuraĝaj.

Now Absalom had ordered his young men, “Watch Amnon until his heart is merry with wine, and when I order you to strike Amnon down, you are to kill him. Do not be afraid. Have I not commanded you? Be courageous and valiant!”

29 Kaj la servantoj de Abŝalom faris al Amnon, kiel ordonis Abŝalom. Tiam leviĝis ĉiuj filoj de la reĝo, kaj sidiĝis ĉiu sur sia mulo kaj forkuris.

So Absalom’s young men did to Amnon just as Absalom had ordered. Then all the other sons of the king got up, and each one fled on his mule.

30 Kiam ili estis ankoraŭ sur la vojo, al David venis la famo, ke Abŝalom mortigis ĉiujn filojn de la reĝo kaj neniu el ili restis.

While they were on the way, a report reached David: “Absalom has struck down all the sons of the king; not one of them is left!”

31 La reĝo leviĝis, kaj disŝiris siajn vestojn, kaj kuŝiĝis sur la tero; kaj ĉiuj liaj servantoj staris kun disŝiritaj vestoj.

Then the king stood up, tore his clothes, and lay down on the ground; and all his servants stood by with their clothes torn.

32 Tiam ekparolis Jonadab, filo de Ŝimea, frato de David, kaj diris: Mia sinjoro ne diru, ke ĉiuj junuloj filoj de la reĝo estas mortigitaj; ĉar nur Amnon sola mortis; ĉar ĉe Abŝalom tio estis decidita de post la tago, kiam tiu perfortis lian fratinon Tamar.

But Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah, spoke up: “My lord must not think they have killed all the sons of the king, for only Amnon is dead. In fact, Absalom has planned this since the day Amnon violated his sister Tamar.

33 Kaj nun mia sinjoro la reĝo ne atentu la famon, kiu diras, ke ĉiuj filoj de la reĝo mortis; nur Amnon sola mortis.

So now, my lord the king, do not take to heart the report that all the sons of the king are dead. Only Amnon is dead.”

34 Dume Abŝalom forkuris. La gardostaranta servanto levis siajn okulojn, kaj ekvidis, ke multe da homoj iras de la vojo malantaŭa laŭ la deklivo de la monto.

Meanwhile, Absalom had fled. When the young man standing watch looked up, he saw many people coming down the road west of him, along the side of the hill. And the watchman went and reported to the king, “I see men coming from the direction of Horonaim, along the side of the hill.”

35 Kaj Jonadab diris al la reĝo: Jen la filoj de la reĝo venas; kiel via sklavo diris, tiel fariĝis.

So Jonadab said to the king, “Look, the sons of the king have arrived! It is just as your servant said.”

36 Kiam li finis paroli, venis la filoj de la reĝo, kaj ili levis sian voĉon kaj ploris; kaj ankaŭ la reĝo kaj ĉiuj liaj servantoj ploris per tre granda ploro.

And as he finished speaking, the sons of the king came in, wailing loudly. Then the king and all his servants also wept very bitterly.

37 Sed Abŝalom forkuris, kaj venis al Talmaj, filo de Amihud, reĝo de Geŝur. Kaj David funebris pro sia filo dum la tuta tempo.

Now Absalom fled and went to Talmai son of Ammihud, the king of Geshur. But David mourned for his son every day.

38 Abŝalom forkuris, kaj iris Geŝuron, kaj restis tie dum tri jaroj.

After Absalom had fled and gone to Geshur, he stayed there three years.

39 Kaj la reĝo David forte sopiris al Abŝalom; ĉar li konsoliĝis pri la morto de Amnon.

And King David longed to go to Absalom, for he had been consoled over Amnon’s death.
