Zechariah 5
1 And I turn back, and lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a flying roll.
Je levai de nouveau les yeux et je vis: Et voici un rouleau qui volait.
2 And he saith unto me, 'What art thou seeing?' And I say, 'I am seeing a flying roll, its length twenty by the cubit, and its breadth ten by the cubit.'
Il me dit: « Que vois-tu? « Je dis: « Je vois un rouleau qui vole; sa longueur est de vingt coudées et sa largeur de dix coudées. »
3 And he saith unto me, 'This [is] the execration that is going forth over the face of all the land, for every one who is stealing, on the one side, according to it, hath been declared innocent, and every one who hath sworn, on the other side, according to it, hath been declared innocent.
Et il me dit: C’est la malédiction qui sort sur la face de tout le pays; car, selon ce qui y est écrit, quiconque dérobe sera balayé d’ici, et, selon ce qui y est écrit, quiconque jure sera balayé d’ici.
4 'I have brought it out — an affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts — and it hath come in unto the house of the thief, and unto the house of him who hath sworn in My name to a falsehood, and it hath remained in the midst of his house, and hath consumed it, both its wood and its stones.'
Je l’ai déchaînée, – oracle de Yahweh des armées, – et elle arrivera à la maison du voleur et à la maison de celui qui jure par mon nom en mentant; elle se logera au milieu de sa maison et la consumera, le bois et les pierres.
5 And the messenger who is speaking with me goeth forth, and saith unto me, 'Lift up, I pray thee, thine eyes, and see what [is] this that is coming forth?'
L’ange qui parlait avec moi parut et me dit: « Lève les yeux et regarde ce qui apparaît. « Je dis: « Qu’est-ce? »
6 And I say, 'What [is] it?' And he saith, 'This — the ephah that is coming forth.' And he saith, 'This [is] their aspect in all the land.
Il dit: « C’est l’épha qui apparaît ». Et il ajouta: « C’est à cela que s’attache leur regard dans tout le pays. »
7 And lo, a cake of lead lifted up; and this [is] a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah.'
Et voici qu’un disque de plomb fut soulevé, et il y avait une femme assise au milieu de l’épha.
8 And he saith, 'This [is] the wicked woman.' And he casteth her unto the midst of the ephah, and casteth the weight of lead on its mouth.
Il dit: « Cette femme est l’improbité. « Et il la repoussa au milieu de l’épha et jeta sur l’ouverture de celui-ci la masse de plomb.
9 And I lift up mine eyes, and see, and lo, two women are coming forth, and wind in their wings; and they have wings like wings of the stork, and they lift up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.
Et je levai les yeux, et je vis. Et voici que deux femmes apparurent; du vent soufflait dans leurs ailes; elles avaient des ailes pareilles aux ailes de la cigogne. Et elles enlevèrent l’épha entre le ciel et la terre.
10 And I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, 'Whither [are] they causing the ephah to go?'
Je dis à l’ange qui parlait avec moi: « Où emportent-elles l’épha? »
11 And he saith unto me, 'To build to it a house in the land of Shinar.' And it hath been prepared and hath been placed there on its base.
Il me répondit: « Elles l’emportent pour lui bâtir une maison au pays de Sennaar; et, quand elle aura été fondée, on le placera là en son lieu.
