Zechariah 2
1 And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a man, and in his hand a measuring line.
Tornei a levantar os meus olhos, e vi, e eis aqui um homem em cuja mão estava um cordel de medir.
2 And I say, 'Whither are thou going?' And he saith unto me, 'To measure Jerusalem, to see how much [is] its breadth, and how much its length.'
E eu disse: Para onde vaes tu? E elle me disse: Vou a medir Jerusalem, para vêr qual é a sua largura e qual o seu comprimento.
3 And lo, the messenger who is speaking with me is going out, and another messenger is going out to meet him,
E eis que saiu o anjo que fallava comigo, e outro anjo lhe saiu ao encontro.
4 and he saith unto him, 'Run, speak unto this young man, saying: Unwalled villages inhabit doth Jerusalem, From the abundance of man and beast in her midst.
E disse-lhe: Corre, falla a este mancebo, dizendo: Jerusalem será habitada como as aldeias sem muros, por causa da multidão dos homens e dos animaes que estarão no meio d'ella.
5 And I — I am to her — an affirmation of Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And for honour I am in her midst.
E eu, diz o Senhor, serei para ella um muro de fogo em redor, e serei para gloria no meio d'ella.
6 Ho, ho, and flee from the land of the north, An affirmation of Jehovah, For, as the four winds of the heavens, I have spread you abroad, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Olá, oh! fugi agora da terra do norte, diz o Senhor, porque vos estendi pelos quatro ventos do céu, diz o Senhor.
7 Ho, Zion, be delivered who art dwelling [with] the daughter of Babylon.
Olá, Sião! livra-te tu, que habitas com a filha de Babylonia.
8 For thus said Jehovah of Hosts: After honour He hath sent me unto the nations who are spoiling you, For he who is coming against you, Is coming against the daughter of His eye.
Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Depois da gloria elle me enviou ás nações que vos despojaram; porque aquelle que tocar em vós toca na menina do seu olho.
9 For lo, I am waving my hand against them, And they have been a spoil to their servants. And ye have known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me.
Porque eis que levantarei a minha mão sobre elles, e elles virão a ser a preza d'aquelles que os serviram: assim sabereis vós que o Senhor dos Exercitos me enviou.
10 Singe, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, For lo, I am coming, and have dwelt in thy midst, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Exulta, e alegra-te ó filha de Sião, porque eis que venho, e habitarei no meio de ti, diz o Senhor.
11 And joined have been many nations unto Jehovah in that day, And they have been to Me for a people, And I have dwelt in thy midst, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me unto thee.
E n'aquelle dia muitas nações se ajuntarão ao Senhor, e me serão por povo, e habitarei no meio de ti, e saberás que o Senhor dos Exercitos me enviou a ti
12 And Jehovah hath inherited Judah, His portion on the holy ground, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.
Então o Senhor herdará a Judah por sua porção na terra sancta, e ainda escolherá a Jerusalem.
13 Hush, all flesh, because of Jehovah, For He hath been roused up from His holy habitation!'
Cala-te, toda a carne, diante do Senhor, porque elle se despertou da sua sancta morada.
