Titus 1
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the choice ones of God, and an acknowledging of truth that [is] according to piety,
೧ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನೂ, ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲನೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಪೌಲನು, ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಹುದುವಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜಕುಮಾರನಾಗಿರುವ ತೀತನಿಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರ.
2 upon hope of life age-during, which God, who doth not lie, did promise before times of ages, (aiōnios g166)
೨ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಕನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆ, ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿ ದೊರಕಲಿ.
3 (and He manifested in proper times His word, ) in preaching, which I was entrusted with, according to a charge of God our Saviour,
೩ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡದ ದೇವರು, ಅನಾದಿಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು, ತಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ದೈವ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸತ್ಯದ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಲು ನಾನು ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. (aiōnios g166)
4 to Titus — true child according to a common faith: Grace, kindness, peace, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour!
೪ಹಾಗು, ಆ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಕನಾದ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಹಾಗು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that the things lacking thou mayest arrange, and mayest set down in every city elders, as I did appoint to thee;
೫ಕ್ರೇತ್ ದ್ವೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮಪಡಿಸಿ, ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಂದೆ.
6 if any one is blameless, of one wife a husband, having children stedfast, not under accusation of riotous living or insubordinate —
೬ಸಭೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯನು ದೋಷರಹಿತನೂ, ಏಕಪತ್ನಿಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಆತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಿಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಿಧೇಯತೆಯ ಆರೋಪವಿಲ್ಲದವರು ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು.
7 for it behoveth the overseer to be blameless, as God's steward, not self-pleased, nor irascible, not given to wine, not a striker, not given to filthy lucre;
೭ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಸಭಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನು ದೇವರ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದೋಷರಹಿತನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ಅವನು ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಛೆಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನೂ, ಮುಂಗೋಪಿಯೂ, ಕುಡುಕನೂ, ಜಗಳಗಂಟನೂ, ಅತಿಲಾಭವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರದೆ,
8 but a lover of strangers, a lover of good men, sober-minded, righteous, kind, self-controlled,
೮ಅತಿಥಿಸತ್ಕಾರಮಾಡುವವನೂ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನೂ, ವಿವೇಕಿಯು, ನೀತಿವಂತನೂ, ದೈವಭಕ್ತನು, ಜಿತೇಂದ್ರಿಯನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದು,
9 holding — according to the teaching — to the stedfast word, that he may be able also to exhort in the sound teaching, and the gainsayers to convict;
೯ತಾನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಬೋಧನೆಯಿಂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಸುವಾರ್ತಾ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿ ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಶಕ್ತನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಉಪದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನಂಬತಕ್ಕ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು, ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿದವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
10 for there are many both insubordinate, vain-talkers, and mind-deceivers — especially they of the circumcision —
೧೦ಅನೇಕರು, ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಸುನ್ನತಿಹೊಂದಿದವರು, ಬರೀ ಮಾತುಗಾರರೂ, ಮೋಸಗಾರರೂ, ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡದವರು ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
11 whose mouth it behoveth to stop, who whole households do overturn, teaching what things it behoveth not, for filthy lucre's sake.
೧೧ಅವರು ಅತಿಲಾಭವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬಾರದ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳನ್ನೇ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಬಾಯಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
12 A certain one of them, a prophet of their own, said — 'Cretans! always liars, evil beasts, lazy bellies!'
೧೨“ಕ್ರೇತ್ ದ್ವೀಪದವರು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರರೂ, ದುಷ್ಟಮೃಗಗಳೂ, ಸೋಮಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕರೂ” ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಅವರ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
13 this testimony is true; for which cause convict them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
೧೩ಈ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನಿಜವೇ ಆಗಿದೆ; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಕಟ್ಟುಕಥೆಗಳಿಗೂ, ಸತ್ಯಭ್ರಷ್ಟರಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ವಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕೊಡದೆ,
14 not giving heed to Jewish fables and commands of men, turning themselves away from the truth;
೧೪ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಚಿತ್ತರಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ಖಂಡಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿಸು.
15 all things, indeed, [are] pure to the pure, and to the defiled and unstedfast [is] nothing pure, but of them defiled [are] even the mind and the conscience;
೧೫ಶುದ್ಧರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಶುದ್ಧವೇ; ಆದರೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧರಿಗೂ, ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೂ ಯಾವುದೂ ಶುದ್ಧವಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯೂ ಎರಡೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
16 God they profess to know, and in the works they deny [Him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work disapproved.
೧೬ಅವರು ತಾವು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಅರಿತವರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ನಡತೆ ತದ್ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರು ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವವರೂ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ ಹಾಗು ಸತ್ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಅಯೋಗ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಸಾಬಿತುಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
