Ruth 3
1 And Naomi her mother-in-law saith to her, 'My daughter, do not I seek for thee rest, that it may be well with thee?
एक दिन रूथ की सास नावोमी ने रूथ से कहा, “मेरी बेटी, क्या यह मेरी जवाबदारी नहीं कि मैं तुम्हारा घर बसाने का प्रबंध करूं, कि अब इसमें तुम्हारा भला हो.
2 and now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women thou hast been? lo, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley to-night,
सुनो, बोअज़ हमारे रिश्तेदार हैं, जिनकी दासियों के साथ तुम काम कर रही थी. देखो, आज शाम वह खलिहान में जौ फटकेंगे.
3 and thou hast bathed, and anointed thyself, and put thy garments upon thee, and gone down to the threshing-floor; let not thyself be known to the man till he complete to eat and to drink;
सो अच्छी तरह से स्नान करके तैयार हो जा, सबसे अच्छे कपड़े पहनकर खलिहान में जाना, किंतु ध्यान रहे, जब तक बोअज़ भोजन खत्म न कर लें, तुम उन्हें अपनी उपस्थिति का अहसास न होने देना.
4 and it cometh to pass when he lieth down, that thou hast known the place where he lieth down, and hast gone in, and uncovered his feet, and lain down, — and he doth declare to thee that which thou dost do.'
किंतु तुम उस स्थान को अच्छी तरह से देख लेना, जहां वह सोने के लिए गए हैं. इसके बाद तुम वहां जाना, और उनके पैरों की चादर उठाकर तुम खुद भी वहीं लेट जाना. इसके बाद तुम्हारा क्या करना सही है, वही तुम्हें बताएंगे.”
5 And she saith unto her, 'All that thou sayest — I do.'
“जो जो आपने कहा है, मैं ठीक वैसा ही करूंगी,” रूथ ने इसके उत्तर में कहा.
6 And she goeth down [to] the threshing-floor, and doth according to all that her mother-in-law commanded her
सो रूथ खलिहान में गई और वहां उसने ठीक वही किया, जैसा उसकी सास ने उसे कहा था.
7 And Boaz eateth and drinketh, and his heart is glad; and he goeth in to lie down at the end of the heap; and she cometh in gently, and uncovereth his feet, and lieth down.
बोअज़ बहुत ही खुश थे, जब उन्होंने खाना-पीना खत्म किया, वह अनाज के ढेर के पास सोने के लिए चले गए. तब रूथ दबे पांव वहां आई, और बोअज़ के पैरों की चादर उठाकर वहां लेट गई.
8 And it cometh to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembleth, and turneth himself, and lo, a woman is lying at his feet.
बीच रात में जब बोअज़ ने करवट ली तो वह चौंक पड़े, कि एक स्त्री उनके पैरों के निकट लेटी हुई थी!
9 And he saith, 'Who [art] thou?' and she saith, 'I [am] Ruth thy handmaid, and thou hast spread thy skirt over thy handmaid, for thou [art] a redeemer.'
उन्होंने पूछा, “कौन हो तुम?” “मैं रूथ हूं, आपकी दासी.” रूथ ने उत्तर दिया. “आप हमारे छुड़ानेवाले हैं, सो अपनी दासी को अपने पंखों की शरण प्रदान करें.”
10 And he saith, 'Blessed [art] thou of Jehovah, my daughter; thou hast dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning — not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.
“बेटी,” बोअज़ ने इसके उत्तर में कहा, “याहवेह की कृपादृष्टि तुम पर बनी रहे. समर्पण और निष्ठा की तुम्हारी यह प्रीति तुम्हारी पहले की प्रीति से बढ़कर है. तुमने यहां के किसी भी धनी या साधारण युवक से विवाह का विचार नहीं किया.
11 And now, my daughter, fear not, all that thou sayest I do to thee, for all the gate of my people doth know that thou [art] a virtuous woman.
अब, मेरी बेटी, किसी भी विषय की चिंता न करो. तुम्हारी इच्छा के अनुसार मैं सभी कुछ करूंगा, क्योंकि नगर में सभी को यह मालूम है कि तुम अच्छे चरित्र की स्त्री हो.
12 And now, surely, true, that I [am] a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.
यह सही है कि मैं तुम्हारा छुड़ाने वाला हूं, किंतु इस रीति में एक और व्यक्ति है, जिसका अधिकार मुझसे पहले है.
13 Lodge to night, and it hath been in the morning, if he doth redeem thee, well: he redeemeth; and if he delight not to redeem thee, then I have redeemed thee — I; Jehovah liveth! lie down till the morning.'
अभी तुम यहीं ठहरो, सुबह यदि वह व्यक्ति अपना दायित्व पूरा करता है तो बहुत अच्छा, नहीं तो जीवित याहवेह की शपथ, मैं तुमसे प्रतिज्ञा करता हूं, कि मैं तुम्हें छुड़ाऊंगा. सुबह होने तक यहीं सोती रहो.”
14 And she lieth down at his feet till the morning, and riseth before one doth discern another; and he saith, 'Let it not be known that the woman hath come into the floor.'
सो रूथ सुबह होने तक बोअज़ के पैताने सोती रहीं, किंतु इसके पहले कि उजाला हो और कोई उन्हें पहचान सके, वह उठ गई. बोअज़ ने उससे कहा, “किसी को यह पता न चले कि तुम खलिहान में आई थी.”
15 And he saith, 'Give the covering which [is] on thee, and keep hold on it;' and she keepeth hold on it, and he measureth six [measures] of barley, and layeth [it] on her; and he goeth into the city.
तब बोअज़ ने उससे आगे कहा, “अपनी ओढ़नी आगे फैलाओ.” सो उसने अपनी ओढ़नी वहां बिछा दी, बोअज़ ने छः माप जौ उसकी ओढ़नी में डाल दिए और उसे उसके कंधे पर रख दिया, और वह नगर में चली गयी.
16 And she cometh in unto her mother-in-law, and she saith, 'Who [art] thou, my daughter?' and she declareth to her all that the man hath done to her.
जब रूथ अपनी सास के पास पहुंची, नावोमी ने उससे पूछा, “मेरी पुत्री, बताओ कैसा रहा?” तब रूथ ने अपनी सास को वह सब बता दिया, जो बोअज़ ने उसके लिए किया था.
17 And she saith, 'These six [measures] of barley he hath given to me, for he said, Thou dost not go in empty unto thy mother-in-law.'
रूथ ने आगे कहा, “उन्होंने मुझे ये छः माप जौ भी यह कहते हुए दिए हैं, ‘अपनी सास के पास खाली हाथ न जाना.’”
18 And she saith, 'Sit still, my daughter, till thou dost know how the matter falleth, for the man doth not rest except he hath completed the matter to-day.'
इस पर नावोमी ने रूथ से कहा, “मेरी पुत्री, अब धीरज धरकर देखती जाओ कि आगे क्या-क्या होता है. क्योंकि वह व्यक्ति आज इस विषय को सुलझाए बिना शांत न बैठेगा.”
